Whether the structures are owned by yoruba or TIV people, it is irrelevant. What is relevant is for the government to have a master plan and enforce it. Stiff enforcement of tough penalties for any government officials collecting bribes. T |

Beremx: I have the same question too but on reflection I am thinking that maybe the patient was the one that reported the nurse to warrant her immediate firing. Nevertheless, a warning/ reprimand might have been more appropriate but again maybe the nurse have had other violation under their belt warranting the firing. Or felt like them religious people that are consumed by their churches even after initial reprimand was still headstrong. |

The supplier/contractor took a wrong turn this time. How many mb would sending that video cost you? Everything is not gragra.. he could have sent him the video and left it there.. Even if it costs him N50 in data.. those are business expenses. What of people that visits a client paying transport fare, phone calls etc but end up not getting the job? We move!! 2 Likes |

blaise26abj: Oga sir. That's what I am saying. The government official that was supposed to enforce the law was the one that misled the citizen. How is that right? The proper procedure would have been for the citizen to be compensated first before the house is demolished because the government is a culprit in the scheme. Had the government officials done their job right the first time.. we wouldn't be here. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Confused Right Now And Need A Solution!! by Badgers14: 9:29am On Nov 27, 2023 |
Hamachi: Manage the two until you are well established and invested.. them you could decide to leave government work and become self employed. How long have you been in the business? How much have you saved? Can you divest your investment to have another layer of financial security? ( you don't have to answer these questions online here but this would be questions I would ask my self if I was faced in a situation like this). The problem is, many new businesses once they make profits in the first few months , go all in ... sometimes it works, sometimes not. The best to do is to nurture the business while still having that steady flow of income no matter how small from your Government job.. then build up the business then go all in if you must by quitting the government job. 1 Like |
Properties / Re: Demolitions In FESTAC: FG Warned Land Illegal Occupiers In 2021 by Badgers14: 9:26am On Nov 27, 2023 |
blaise26abj: Oga/madam.. You misinterpret the meaning of government in your explanation. Those corrupt individuals are government employees that enabled corrupt activities. At the time, they were representative of the government not just a mere citizen. They should have done better by enforcing the laws which they signed off on. If someone ran a red light and the driver offers them a bribe.. the correct thing to do is to reject the bribe and possibly arrest the offending individuals for breaking the law and obstructing the law. |
Properties / Re: Demolitions In FESTAC: FG Warned Land Illegal Occupiers In 2021 by Badgers14: 9:20am On Nov 27, 2023 |
nedekid: Oga/ Madam. I understand your point but I think you veered off the wrong direction. Now, if you have gone through an approval process you might understand more. I speak from experience in lagos state precisely. I owned a property there once upon a time. (Location withheld). When I acquired the property, I paid lawyer and surveyor and did the ground work etc. The thing was at the time, they said government charges xx amount of money to register land in this and that area. And I paid. House was built on the land, I went through the same thing , paid for approval plus the envelope involved. Now fast forward 5 years later after i sold the property, then house plus others in that area was demolished because of illegal structure because the new government had other plans for the area. The person that purchased the house from me, even though it has been 5 years past.. I felt so bad for him. No one ever told me the land was government land.. infact in the office when I questioned the large amount of money they are seeking to approve the building plan.. the oga brought files of others that have paid.. saying see I don't have to show you this but here you go.. this pesin that orsin have paid.. some even paid higher than they were demanding from me. I went to some of those individuals back then and confirmed they paid so and so amount of money etc. But nevertheless, those houses were all demolished even though they had a government approval. One of the things the government officials was saying at the time was ehn.. the government at the time have changed, the home owners should go and hold the government officials that signed off.. That got me thinking, isn't there continuity in government? So does it mean that if someone owed the past administration, the new administration will forgive those debts? So this is where I draw my opinion from my own experience. If my land was a government land, why didn't the official tell me so instead of telling me I need to pay a higher approval fee because that's what government charges for lands and building approval in that axis, I was even provided with an official memo directing them to charge the said amount. So the government has to do better by her citizens. This is just wrong!! |
Properties / Re: Demolitions In FESTAC: FG Warned Land Illegal Occupiers In 2021 by Badgers14: 8:32am On Nov 27, 2023 |
blaise26abj: I see what you saying but realistically it doesn't work like that because the government is held higher than the individual in this cases. Here's why, the government has a duty to protect the citizens. The government writes the laws. The government enforces the law. The government officials accepted the bribe. Government turned blind eyes and refused to enforce thier own laws. Yes, citizens have a duty to be law abiding but when they are misled by big brother government, that's bad. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: The U.S. Navy Has Taken Back Control Of The Israel-affiliated Tanker Hijacked! by Badgers14: 8:27am On Nov 27, 2023 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae: Man pass man no be boasting... the rebels know they are outpowered by the US Navy. How many were the rebels? What kind of resources and equipment did they have to fight the U.S navy? A couple of AK 47s and rpgs? They would need way more than that to stand a chance with the U.S navy and that's why they backed down and surrendered because they would have been fighting a futile battle. Even in the streets, it happens if someone is cornered by men dem and the person cornered have connect of a senior man that is not even there at the moment, once those guys know the person they cornered have connects.. they will just free the person unharmed.. That's life, knowing when to fight and when to surrender.. |
Properties / Re: Demolitions In FESTAC: FG Warned Land Illegal Occupiers In 2021 by Badgers14: 8:19am On Nov 27, 2023 |
nedekid: The bolded is the problem. The example you gave with the stolen car is comparing apples to oranges The bottom line here is, if the government officials didn't collect bribes and did their job.. those houses will not be built. The government has a duty to protect thier citizens not to enable criminal activity. |
Properties / Re: Demolitions In FESTAC: FG Warned Land Illegal Occupiers In 2021 by Badgers14: 8:02am On Nov 27, 2023 |
erniok: Thatz exactly the point and that's the point I am trying to make. The culprit here is the government, those corrupt individuals are government employees. When an individual goes in to get approval in most states, the officials are mostly interested in the brown envelopes and not about doing there jobs. If the government had done their jobs they wouldn't have built the house in the first place. Secondly, in all this years people were building houses there, does it mean that the DG or any top brass of the FHA wasn't aware of it and make necessary effort to stop it at that time? Many people saying sue government sue government, why that is the proper way to seek redress in courts but that's very cruel to the Nigerian citizens affected because a court case like that can go on for years and how could someone that already lost hundreds of million of naira afford litigation expenses at the same time trying to find a new accommodation to thier families?? Our government is just irresponsible! Sometimes I wonder what Nigeria benefits from democracy, if democracy is indeed a better system of government for Nigeria than military rule. |

Politics / Re: List Of Governors Who Defied Godfatherism by Badgers14: 9:42am On Nov 25, 2023 |
Yeye list. I am not supporting godfatherism in politics but it is almost inevitable. Many of this people mentioned here had silent truce.. It's just like meeting a release clause in club football so a player can be released. Their godfathers were "taken care of " so they can hands off and let their boy breathe. Does anyone really think the godfathers would just be pushed away like that hands akimbo For uba and ngige.. does anyone remember what Uba did Ngige? To kidnap a sitting governor with police escort in broad day light na beans?? So leave all those things, this are common sense.. You sef that is reading this, if you sponsor someone to be common course rep or class captain and they backed off on your agreement. Would you just sit on the sideline and watch?? 4 Likes |

Svoboda: I wouldn't take it that far though.. In a situation like this, Israel has to consider the position of their allies because Israel can't do it alone. The allies sometimes have their own individual interest they would like to protect. So that's the world of diplomacy. International politics ain't no joke.. Just like Hamas.. someone is using them to poke at Isreal and the west . If you follow the news you'll see Iran is upset that Hamas didn't give them heads up prior to their initial attack ans while they support Hamas, they can't support them in all areas that's why Iran is not directly involved per se but rumor has it that Hezebollah and Houthis in Yemen has Iranian's blessing. That's International politics for ya |
