I don't necessarily feel so, what I think is a lot of people apply with that school as their DLI so which automatically leads to a higher denial rate due to the sheer volume of people applying and may not meet the VOs demands, just the same way they would have some approvals too. misslag: Hello house. I would like to apply to memorial university of newfoundland. But a friend told me the embassy hardly give visa to applicants from that school, anyone knows how true this is. Thank you |

Thanks Adeenzo for the detailed information, I would like to know if I can book for my medical weeks before starting my study permit application and also, in your province, what's the estimated price for a 1-bedroom house/space that comes with all utilities... Thank you adeenzo: Hello guys, apologies for going M.I.A settling down in Canada is something else, but we thank God So I am just gonna go straight to the point, just a piece of advice in two areas
1. Before your PPR (this stage is for people that are yet to get their positive feedback from IRCC) 2. Arriving in Canada (This stage is for people that have received their passport and already in Canada)
I purposely left out the pre-travel stage because rules and regulations surrounding your pre-traveling can change without notice, when I was traveling I didn’t need to show a COVID test result but now I think Canada actually demands a negative test result from all travelers by air.
1. Before your PPR: This stage can be very grueling and might look long, but over my time listening to gurus here I can tell you that a. There is no method to this application, no two application is the same, just make sure you do your due diligence.
b. If you haven’t done your medicals please I would advise that you go ahead and book for your medicals because appointment dates run thin very fast. (I am not against anybody wanting to wait for IRCC to tell them to go for their medicals but doing it upfront speeds things up)
c. Order your GCMS notes: if your application has passed 2-3 months without you hearing from IRCC, I suggest you order your GCMS notes, that will give you some peace of mind because you know where you actually stand.
2. Arriving Canada: This stage is for people that are just arriving in Canada: a. Take your time to adjust: it took me almost a week for my body to adjust to the time, cos when it's just 2 pm in Canada it's like 10 pm in Nigeria and your body would be telling you to go to sleep, so you have to gradually fight it and try staying awake till the evening time or night time for your body to adjust
b. The weather: the weather is nothing like what you have experienced, and honestly your mind and body might not fully prepare you for it. This stage is also gradual; get good snow boots and thick winter jackets, also if you can purchase an electric warmer blanket it would be a good move. Let kijiji be your go-to site for your purchases.
c. opening of account: I strongly recommend CIBC smart for student account because it has no monthly fee, your interac transactions are free, you get access to SPC (Student Price Card) which is a student loyalty program that gives you discount on fashion, food and groceries, movies etc. (please note this is just my two cents as per my research and what i currently use)
d. Accommodation: Make sure that your accommodation if it's off-campus, has all utilities included in your monthly rental fee because trust me the last thing that you want is to be keeping tabs on when your hydro, water, the internet should be renewed to avoid disconnection.
Please feel free to ask questions and I would try my possible best to answer them.
Thanks |

Lool @ "Pastorpreneurs", I remember the woman being used, the funny thing is people are so brain washed, cause they can clearly see that it's a scam but yet their reasoning faculty refuses to function for some reason. We Believe in miracles so much here that we forget the importance of doing the actual work to make things better. Chiggsglover: Thank you very much bro. These Pastorpreneurs have done lots of damage to Christianity. They have healed Hiv aid, raised the dead, healed acute diseases, I'm yet to find anyone that have cured Covid. One woman with a deformity, her hand stretches and extends at will. This disability makes her shrink and extend the length of her hand. Would you believe that at least five churches used her for miracle. Hahahaha, I was just laughing. One guy in the comment section said the devil keeps sending her the deformity like software update.
At the moment, they all ran online to preach. You need to see Kenneth Copeland banish Covid on youtube. Some comedians did some tweaking on that video.
None of them have made any effort to spiritually attack the virus. Covid is just advanced cold, if they can banish almighty Aids, dragged a departed soul back to its earthly body. Why can they quench cold. |

This write up is extremely rich, I Don't even know where to start from really, as for the art works it's better the Europeans keep it as you said and mehn if not that NiKe art gallery was a private Enterprise managed by an art lover, I bet it'll be no more today.... As for Christianity in 9ja, a lot of us practice Hippocracity at it's finest Chiggsglover: I remembered when I visited this art studio at Lekki and I was star strucked. This documentary is about looted art by the European from Nigeria especially Benin city, Cameroun, and Namibia.
Our ceremonial art works that fascinated the colonial masters who taught we were lesser beings have been taken from us by force and by transaction. The argument is that if not for them these arts would have have degraded and be lost in time. There's a call to get them back. But the question is, Do we have the infrastructure for that. Look at our museums, how many school have booked a Viewing for that. Part of my list before I left Nigeria was to view a museum cos my school's never took me to one. Except one small one at whispering palms in badagry. I was there twice and the second time I was there. A lot has dilapidated. It was shocking!!!!!
Some argued that if these arts are sent back to Nigeria. Our corrupt leaders will arranged to be sold back to the highest bidder, it might fall to one man who will mount it in his bedroom rather than in the public they currently are. So they argued that until we have a secured place, let it remain with them. One of the bust of oba of Benin art that was stolen, sold for 4.2M dollars. Convert that to naira. It's common sense to know that natural resources is not enough to take Nigeria out of poverty. Look at our oil. Countries without oil are even better. Rather we need to focus on satisfying the first need according to Maslow. People shouldn't sleep hungry abeg.
If you give a Nigerian a painting by Picasso, he might use it to divert the fumes from his small gen away from his window.
Nike said, it's only those who have eaten that can appreciate art. We don't appreciate art yet. You need to see the state of the other artefacts we have. The first time I visited Nike Art studio. It was raining terribly that morning. So I walked in with my Umbrella dripping. She kindly showed me to a corner to keep it safely. And got a mop to clean up the ground. I never knew she's the owner of the Studio with more than 8000 artworks.
The big gen wasn't on then cos I was very early and right there in the picture. That's where her husband sits. We started to talk. I didn't know when 3 hours flew by. This was coming from a person with loads of experience. I didn't agree with everything he said. Because I was surrounded by the societal bias and Shit. We spoke about art to religion, that was the first time he opened my eye, What We Call Christianity in Nigeria is Shit.
I came across a post. The author wondered why a Christian come abroad and their prayer life reduces. A funny person wrote that, when you're abroad 70% of your prayer point is answered.. the government has done it. We do a lot of transactional prayer point fueled with greed and not love. And these pastors know that and pump their pocket. If you're an older Christian and still run after miracles. You're a baby. Miracles are not for adult. If you're still here and believe if you give God; First fruit, seeds, that you'll be rich, and you are not even in the process of production. You're greedy. You're just that the fool in the story of the money doubler. If you don't know that story, you can find it online.
If one European visits Nigeria. At least he spends €3000, just imagine how many millions we will make from tourism alone if say a thousand foreigners come. Our people are usually very sharp when they see a foreigner as they charge 5 times the price, Lol. And to the Tourist, it is still cheap!

I would have said they were small sha. But I'm only less than a year and I got this amount of gifts. Gf hot enough to fill a huge traveling bag. Hahahaha.
I try sha. In Nigeria, apart from food, no one gives Christmas gifts. The entitled GF in Nigeria have found a way to get it. By fire by force. |

Exactly what I wanted to point out.... Her stamped passport was her leverage at the Lagos Embassy Uzomachukwu: Funny! So what are we all doing here then? Let us all rush to the Lagos embassy. Hurray!
Dianyị, if you had read well, you'd also have seen that the lady was talking about her LOI. She had already got BVL and PPR weeks before, and had also got her passport stamped. She only went to the embassy to complain about the delay in obtaining her Letter of Introduction which she'll need at the point of entry. |

The room looks quite big I must say and chiggs, abeg na 2 of us go share the money on any antic item you find ooo, Great one bro Chiggsglover: I came upon a lovely art work here, the bigger one is called Young Girl in a Boat by Renoir. Absolute lovely. If seems to have lost color which might tell how old it is and increase its value. If I bought the house and everything in it. To sell this art, I'll have to take it to a specialist like the curator, who will examine the authenticity and an appraiser to get the value
Theres alot of items with hidden value. A woman bought a chinese vase in UK for less than €50, only for her to discover it was worth $9million, this was discovered early this year. My eyes have been sharp ever since. I started to appreciate vintage items and all. I would have visited the curiosity shop, charity shops and all, but this lockdown has them all closed.
Although this room is much bigger, but my rent is the same. And the location is closer to work and would save me some stress. The major reason I moved was cos of noise, for some reason, I could hear the guy above me talking on the phone, sometimes he would talk till 12, I now have to wait till he ends the call before I can sleep.
So that was my signal. I started going through the housing app and found this. There was no furniture from the picture so I decided to have a look all the same. What's the harm in that. Surprisingly, it was brimming with lovely furnitures, I had to reject some. I insisted on having two couches tho. |

The flight was lllloooonnngggg. Ethiopian airlines is so cheap and underrated. Please try it if you have time for the stopovers.
I know you can't generalize but the border officials and immigration personnels were super nice. The guy even came to the queue, took our documents (LOA, Tuition receipt, passport and the Declaration card we filled on the plane )and issued our permits without stress. When I went to check in my luggage, the attendants were so humble and attentive.
