Imagine government subsidizing fuel and unfortunate people lifting same fuel after been subsidized and taking it across the border to sell at exorbitant price. Nigeria is a lawless country with poor institutions to punish law breakers. As long as government continues to subsidize, smuggling won't stop.

This investigation is deeply wrong from the beginning. It should not be in the jurisdiction of the National Assembly to investigate criminal and corrupt activities. There are institutions and agencies that were set up for that function and Nigerians are paying their salaries. So why will the National Assembly leave her duties to face investigation of crimes?
