PoliticsGovernor Aregbesola Fixes Date To Sack Striking Doctors by Badosqi(op): 12:44pm On Jan 08, 2016
Osun state Governor Rauf Aregbesola has threatened to sack striking doctors in the state by Monday, January 11.

The Punch reports that the governor gave the hint in Osogbo, on Thursday, January 7, while addressing guests at the 75th birthday anniversary of the founding President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Hassan Sunmonu.

Aregbesola expressed amazement that his efforts to convince the doctors to resume their official duties had fallen on deaf ears as they remain adamant.

“To my dismay, they stuck to their guns. But you are either in or out. We have decided to use the civil service rule. The Head of Service will implement that as from Monday. Head of Service, it is over to you,” he said.

It was gathered that some of the aggrieved striking doctors present at the ceremony could not curtail their emotions and started complaining out loud to draw the attention of the governor, who was compelled to ask if some of the doctors were present at the occasion.

The Permanent Secretary of the Hospitals Management Board, Mrs. Omolara Ajayi, in his message, pleaded with the doctors to resume work in the interest of the people.

“I want to appeal to them to resume in the interest of the masses, people who do not have an alternative. A life that is lost is lost forever,” Ajayi said.

Recall that doctors in Osun state commenced their ongoing strike on September 28, 2015. The striking doctors were given until December 25 to return to work in an ultimatum by Aregbesola but, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had stated that it will mobilise every doctor in Osun state to strike should the state’s governor carry out his threat to sack striking doctors.

Meanwhile, few days ago, Governor Aregbesola of Osun state inaugurated a nine-member governing board to oversee the running policy of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH) in Osogbo and create a miracle centre where those expected to die would live.

This post is related to our under 23 team(chicharito is not a Nigerian na oooo), but it is a response to those that think playing time is overrated, those that think 3-5mins cameo plus running after yaya, silva,De bryune, sterling, Aguero in training will suddenly turn you to a better player.

We all know the kind of player hernandez is but Man U almost finished the guy's career, suddenly became a bench warmer for Mexico. Now bossing it real gud in Bundesliga, He plays week in week out and the goals keep on rising.

Jan 07, 2016 08:00 PM

Javier Hernandez has been in superb form since leaving Manchester United, and has now revealed why he struggled at his former club.

The Mexican has scored 19 goals and assisted a further two strikes in 25 games since joining Bayer Leverkusen.

The 27-year-old is in contention for the signing of the season and explained the reason behind his improved form.

"What I was missing in the last two or three years, it was like I was playing sometimes and then returning to the bench," he told theOrlando Sentinel.
"But now that I am playing most of the game or almost all of my games here in my club, that's what I need.
"Because people sometimes think the confidence is with goals, but I don't think like that. I think confidence is to play day by day, to get rhythm."

Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, but looked destined to play a role in manager Louis van Gaal's plans at Old Trafford in this campaign.
However, after missing a penalty in a Champions League qualifier against Brugge, the Dutchman decided to sell the striker.

This decision has somewhat come back to haunt the United boss as Hernandez has scored 17 goals in his past 16 games for Leverkusen, while the Red Devils have netted only 13 times during the same period.[/b]

Your the one that is confusing yourself. A Nigerian senators son might have all the money in the World but he is not exposed.
but this is against ur grassroot development stuff because according to you in one of ur posts the U17 should be "
TheGoodJoe:
We use the U17 to boost the local young boys in the country to provide better life for their friends and family.
". A senator's son should not come close to our U17 team. He has money and he doesn't fit ur grassroot development program. A nigerian boy from europe may lack exposure too.

TheGoodJoe:
Remember, Coach Yemi Tella was a member of the Nigerian technical committee. Answer yes or no.

Did Alaba, a football professional in Europe fit into the criteria of Nigerian football grassroot development player?
as far as i know, the U17 & U20 are for talent hunt and they are opened for both all rich and poor, grassroot and irokoroot. There should be no discrimination. We are all Nigerians and nobody should stop us from serving our fathers land.

TheGoodJoe:
Did I say Alaba did something wrong choosing Austria. If he wanted to play for Nigeria, he would have waited and played for Coach Siasia's U20 team.
of course you did. You wrote
Alaba was wrong there and I hope he wins an international medal with Austria. I wonder what he was rushing for. He expected us to drop a grassroot player to play him.
waited? The boy was eligible to play for nigeria and austria. Nigeria rejected him from joining the U17 team, Austria came later with a senior team offer at age 17 and you expected him to say no. Was there an agreement between the boy and nff that coach siasia would give him the U20 opportunity? HELL NO.

TheGoodJoe:
We are not missing Alaba. He can win a thousand titles. The U17 handlers were right. We use the tournament for grassroot development.

We could not sacrifice that position for a boy playing in a German club. It beats the whole grassroot development ideology.

When Austria called him, did he think that he has a chance to play for Nigeria. No, he wants to play for Austria and he ran at the opportunity.

I truly wish him the best but I do not miss him.

And the same goes to any other foreign player who feels he is too big and we must dance to his tune. He can go and play for any other European country that wants him.

We are contended with our talents. Any foreign talent that wants to play for us must show dedication. Just like my brother Leon Balogun who called playing for us a dream. He was not thinking Germany but Nigeria.
You are wrong joe. U17 & U20 are meant for discovering talents that can be groomed to form the foundation of the senior team. They are are grassroot development but our national team development. U17 and U20 is not a poverty alleviation or chop chop program to save the poor lads and poor families. We are talking about football here not some Aso rock national cake. Football is for all(poor or rich). According to ur point an U17 son of a senator which football talent should not come near our U17 team because he is not from the village. You be should be eligible to play for our U17 or U20 teams, once you have Nigerian blood flowing in you, the interest is there and whether you are in Japan or Mexico or Usa.

Funny how you twist everything about the Alaba saga. Alaba is not the villian here. The boy showed interest to represent our U17 team, our coaches blatantly rejected him. Austria gave him the opportunity to represent the Senior team at just age 17 and you expected him to reject the offer(to prove patriotism or wot?) . Why should he reject the offer when Nigeria have no interest. Austria is presently 10th on fifa ranking and they've also qualified for Euro 2016. One of the best teams in the qualifiers. Presently one of the best left backs in Europe and a strong force in the bayern team.. Alaba did nothing wrong in accepting Austrian offer.

Ighalo Ighalo Ighalo Odion.

This guy can't stop scoring. 12 goals in 17 EPL games for Watford. He is the most efficient player/striker in the League right now. Watford have scored 18 goals this season, with Ighalo scoring 12 out of the 18 goals. That is 66.67% of their total goals.

Ighalo has now scored a total of 28 goals in 35 league games in 2015. Highest in England obviously.

Ighalo scored 17 goals in 74 games when he was in Granada. He has scored 32 goals in total for watford already. Ighalo should not rush to any big team, since it is obvious they will come for him. We are not interested in another Victor Moses treatment.

Like petrobros said "this ur luv for nacho is becoming sumthing else".

So you will be happy to see nacho playing insignificant preseason matches while his mates are competiting in the biggest and oldest competition in the world just because you want him to impress the new city "boss". How sure are you that he can't even put up a man of the tournament performance? The same Olympics that a certain Mikel wants to go. Mikel has been to all the major competitions involving both Country and Club, won titles upon titles(biggest titles in the world UCL, Europa, Epl, Fa cup, Carling, AFCON) but he still deserves to go to Rio next year. Now you think a 19 year old Iheanacho is bigger than this and playing preseason for a new coach is better.

City will play more than 50 games(cups and league) next season. Enough games to impress the manager. 7 games in the olympic is not too much to ask for. He will even get the chance to play against some top players in the world(countries can invite 3 senior players).

Inviting Ighalo, Musa, Martins e.t.c should not affect his chances in the U23 team. It will even be a big plus for him, if he can bench this established stars in our matches. Imagine Iheanacho benching Ighalo(the man dat scored 30goals for watford and the highest goal scorer in the whole england with 26 goals ahead of Harry kane, Aguero, benteke, Vardy, Costa).

Iheanacho is a footballer and should not run away becos of competition for starting, he is doing it at City why not in Nigeria U23 too.

Yes, the best clubs are after him. Barcelona will be a good deal. He may jst be an Eto'o in d making.
Barcelona will be a good club for him now. He will learn a lot training with the best football squad in the world. Oh my God! And opportunity to train with Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Who no want beta thing?

But he must leave Barcelona once he clocks 20-21, he need to move to a good club where he will get playing opportunity. His talent is not meant for the bench. He should move to another club to establish himself as the best of his age bracket.
