We play Egypt that same week so how can u ensure our best legs are coming?
To fly out we have to buy plane tickets apply for visas(which also cost money) hotels etc.
We have been globe trotting for years with nothing to show for it.
The super eagles match can not affect the U23 match. Coach Oliseh and Siasia can easily sort this out.

Globe trotting? But we played against Cameroun and D.R congo recently.

BascoVanVeli:
First of all, this proposed match is not even a month before the competition it is next month and that would mean our best must not be there knowing that we need them for Egypt. I don't mind playing them a week before the games but this plan seems rushed.

I strongly believe that we can get top class matches at all levels in Africa. Nigeria is the man united of Africa and any African team playing us will treat it like a final. I said a revenge to show u the mass appeal of playing Senegal. I say we are holding Africa back because we refuse them that chance. What good are we to Africa if we don't let other teams get a shot at us. How many European teams go out of continent for friendlies not even Asia.
Rushed? Definitely no. The match falls on the fifa window for international matches, so expect some of our best legs to be available. The coach has promised to maximize the fifa window opportunity from next month to August. So expect more friendly matches from the U23 team.

We stand to gain a lot from this match than we can ever gain playing an African team. We are going into this match as the Caf U23 champion a good performance against the Brazilians will definitely attract good attention from other highly rated teams. We may not have to lobby that hard to attract top quality friendlies for our boys because this match will generate interest from other olympics bound teams. These teams will have to go through the bidding process to land a friendly with us. This will save us cost and we will get the opportunity to play against some technically and tactically good team.

We are going to the olympics to compete against nations from different continents, so why should we limit our dream team to African football alone? We are going to the olympics not the AFCON or CAF U23. They had their chance at the Caf U23 championship. We played 5 matches against african teams in that tournament. Those 5 matches are enough. We owe Africa nothing except winning the gold medal in Rio.

I rather play a fully loaded and revenge bent Senegal than play Brasil's B team. To me it is more than cost cutting, it is about saying African teams are just as good. U don't see any foriegn teams begging us to play them but yet we run to them when we could be exposing our own. Who would have figured Uganda could beat us but it happened and now they have a higher status thanks in part to us. To me Nigerian pride is holding African football back. We should be leading by example.
Good......... Let me get this straight you will be happy if the super eagles play their preparatory matches against African teams like Tunisia, South Africa, Gabon, Cape verde etc for the 2018 fifa world cup b4 jetting of to Moscow. Why? because you need to cut cost and also carry others along (to help other Africans- you said it)........

How is Nigerian football holding Africa back

I used the Super Eagles since the U-23 is next to the senior team. And the 2 competitions are against world teams.

We have no business "Revengeful Senegal". They had their chance at the Caf U-23 championship and they ruined it.
SportsRe: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Badosqi(m): 6:16pm On Feb 18, 2016
BascoVanVeli:
Don't like it, rather play Ghana, Senegal or Mali. I have come of the opinion that leaving Nigeria for training or friendlies should be abolished till we can afford it. We should find cheaper but effective methods to get things done. Just like our U-20 should have just stayed home and trained in Jos against any top flight teams they had wanted.
Basco common man, which African teams? Are we going to AFCON or Olympics? Same teams we competed against in the CAF U23 Championship a couple of months ago. Remember we lifted the trophy and these teams were present in the tournament(Senegal and Mali).

I am ok with the friendly and we even need more of it. Rio olympics is how many months away? 5 or 6 months. We need qualitive friendlies to access our team not brute force, strength with kick and run football teams in Africa play. We need to play against technically and tactically sound teams(friendly) cos these are the type of opponents that await us in Rio.

This match is just a one-day event to be played in either Brazil or Nigeria. This is completely different from the U20 scenario. Remember the brazilian U20 team defeated us 4-2 in the Fifa U20 championship, they will parade some of their U20 boys likewise team Nigeria.

We need this type of preparatory matches not matches against team Ghana dat couldn't even qualify for the Caf championship.

Enangson:
you are not been straightforward with your comments. How will you classify Arsenal game with Leicester? Watch the highlight when Arsenal equalised and compared it with City equalising goal. Maybe it's a novelty. As for the Aguero you are talking about watch the highlight of their match with Leicester last week and see the reactions from his teammates towards him and also how he Celebrated the goal. Remember it was just a consolation goal after trailing by 0-3.
And how did Walcott and his team mates celebrated the goal. Walcott did not run to the corner flag like he just scored the winning goal in a must win match. He did a moderate celebration with team mates who were around him and they immediately headed back to the half way line to restart the match......

Nacho ran away like he just scored the winning goal and he ran to the corner flag. To celebrate with him means his team mate must chase after him to jubilate wasting another 2-3mins. This match meant a lot to city title chase and 3 points is all they needed not 1 point...

Ask yourself where were the city players when nacho was jubilating? heading to the half way line of course.

Grow up. Your thought still show you are a child. The whole team can't have a gang up against Ihenacho. Besides, Ihenacho is not new in City, so I believe that he must have made close friends in the team that would definitely want to celebrate with him whenever he scores even when others don't. However, if your finding is true, then I think Ihenacho must have violated the teams agreement. I suspect that the team must have resolved that once they get an equaliser, they should quickly pass the ball again to pursue for the winner thereby unsettling Spurs. That I believe was their total resolution and Ihenacho violated it, hence, they didn't celebrate with him. Yesterday's goal was not Ihenacho's first at City. I have seen a lot of his team mates celebrate with him whenever he scores. So that of yesterday shouldn't be a difference except for the reason I gave above which I believe is exactly what happened.
you are right. Nigerians just love to sing the "THE WHITE HATE US" song, because this is the only thing I see here. Iheneacho has scored 8 goals prior to yesterday goal and they celebrated with him when he scored the goals. So why would the team suddenly gang up against a 19 yr old guy? Doesn't make sense.

He scored an hat trick recently and these stars sang a song for him in the dressing room to show how much they love him.

The needed more goals Iheneacho did an Usain Bolt to the corner flag, celebrating means they must chase after him to celebrate and waste an important 1-2mins in a must win match at the Etihad stadium.

What about Arsenal that is exactly in same position as city! When they equalised they celebrated! U might be right, but don't rule out other factors as a cause of the non celebration!
they celebrated with him because he make things easier for them by not doing an Usain Bolt to the corner flag. The headed back to the half way line for the match to continue, so they can push for more goals.

Which of them was not a hot youngster about to explode. Is it Nasri at Marceille or Silva at Valencia or Aguero at Independiente and Atletico Madrid, or Yaya when he came for trials at Arsenal, or De Bruyne or Navas that Arsene Wenger pursued when he signed Reyes.

These guys are Super Stars and they made it big in the game. There are Chinese Clubs ready to pay them more than what they are earning at City.

The players have no reason to feel Jealous. Nacho has not done anything to make them Jealous. That was not a time to run to the corner and celebrate. That was a time to get to the center of the field to restart the game.

Fifteen minutes to go in a level game and you want our players celebrating what. We equalised Tottenham. It is a big deal to Nacho, it is nothing to them. I repeat, these men came together and sang for Nacho when he scored his hat-trick.
I don't understand why people find it hard to understand the event that happened yesterday. These guys love nacho and he looks up to them.

It was a big moment for Iheneacho but the team needed more goals to win the match. Iheneacho actually complicated things by running to the corner flag. To celebrate means the squad would have to swarm after him and waste maybe 30-45secs celebrating the goal. Restarting the match is what the team needed to push for the winning goal.

An equalising goal we re talking about here man! With more time to ve scored d winner! Show me anywhere in d world where an equaliser is ignored with non celebration! Even Chelsea, inspite of their situation when they scored the equaliser against ManU at d bridge, look at hw they celebrated!
These are two different scenarios. Chelsea equalised around 91mins to ground the match to a draw, scoring another goal was very slim considering it remained just 3 mins of added time. And please tell me is chelsea chasing anything? Hell no.

Man city is chasing the league and they needed an outright victory re-ignite there title chase. They equalised around 75mins. There was enough time to push for more goals unlike the chelsea's match. Trust me they would have celebrated with him if it was the winning goal.

We should not create a mountain from an ant hill. There is no enimity among the etihad stars. Zabaleta and another player congratulated him when he returned to the half way line.

I just wrote what I saw. He was ignored quite alright but you have to state the reason behind it. The team is presently under pressure, they lost to Leicester just last week and the team is losing the tittle fight.

And what do you think they stand to gain beefing a 19year old boy.

I strongly doubt if Kun Aguero could score an equalizer and been ignored by his teammates. Iheanacho's scored an equalizer and none of the his teammate rejoice with him. What a shame!
because it was just an equalizer in a most win game. The lost to Leicester last week and can't afford to draw or lose to Tot.

An Aguero scoring that goal will probably not celebrate the goal, he would have carried the ball back for Tots to restart the match.

They didn't celebrate with him because they were rushing back to the half way line for the match to continue and push for more goals.

He actually started the movement of the ball when he won the throw in from the mid-field. Exchanged a couple of passes with Sterling and Yaya toure and was there at the right time to put that cracker past the keeper......

I would personally be ashamed to say this. You sit down in your room with 10mb free data (maybe) mocking a 19-year old boy you could probably father if you grew up in the north. The boy does not know that you exist. He wines and dines with some of the biggest stars in World Football today.

The joke is actually on you, no offence.
mocking? It is obvious you don't understand my post.

I don't know why some of guys think there is nothing special about playing time. Wining and dining with some of the biggest players will not authomatically turn you to a big star, we all want Iheanacho to be one of the biggest stars that other young players would love to dine with. Playing regularly and showcasing skills you acquired in training will do. Training is very important and regular playing time is important too. This is January, man city can loan him out to a quality team for regular playing time if Pelle thinks he is too young for his team.

And am I old enough to father a 19yr old kid? NO. I am presently in my early twenties. Unless it is possible for a 2yr old kid to impregnate a woman.
