[quote author=KejiA post=101626384]Regarding this, I reached out. I was told that this is a good idea and also if we could also reach out to the Nigerian embassy in Ottawa as well. I was able to get the contact details online: chancery@nigeriahcottawa.ca +1-613-236-0521-3 I would suggest sending the draft we made for ircc to them and also for those in Canada that can place a call.
We can also try to find the ambassador of the Nigerian embassy on social media @ him as well. Name: Mr Ojo Uma Maduekwe, High Commissioner
So when is the movement starting on twitter? I don’t think we need to create fake account, just like Indians who went to the embassy itself to complain, we are expressing our concerns as well from our keypads. Canada need us as much as we need them because they generate income from our school fees payment, visa fees and so on. We are only asking to be treated right and fair, I don’t think it’s. 7 tomorrow |

ooa1st: Adding my 1 cent to your write up
"Hello, I hope this reaches you well. With careful writing, wish to thank the humble Nation Canada for giving us some privilege to become prospective and full students of Canada schools as this is really bringing a synergy between the two countries(Nigeria and Canada), while also putting both countries on path of growth, thanks to transfer knowledge & technical know-how.
In recent years, the economy of Canada has grown exponentially and thus competing with other great nations of the world on all positive index and ticking the right Indices (among which affordable and top notch educational system is)
That been said, we have now noticed quite delays we applicants are facing to acquire a study permit into Canada. Comparing our processing and decision time with other countries, it is really disheartening that Canada study applications from Nigeria takes minimum of 3 months and on average 6months, while in some instances we've seen applicants get decision between 8 to 14 months.
Just recently, a scheme NIGERIAN STUDENT EXPRESS (NSE) was introduced, this was to mirror the SDS program and act as catalyst in expediating the application process for those you meet up with the requirement, few who got selected for special route NSE hardly get a decision within 3months of their application, as against the stipulated 20 to 30days processing time expressed by IRCC.
The rate at which students defer admission is alarming, this is a recent norm among Nigeria applicants which our different institutions of higher learning attest to and even willfully propose deferment just to cushion the effect due to the delay in decision making from the immigration desk. There is no gain saying most students have set out plans on commencement and time expected/wish to return home after study to impact lives, develop the growing society and help fight economic fall. But the long process have made a lot to alter or extend visions and goals. It is worthy of note that time lost can never be recuperated. Recently, we seen our colleagues from other countries getting replies and favourable decision in 20 days or even less than that. More worrisome is the ability of IRCC to give 3 different verdict to a single applicant in 3 months whilst their contemporary from other countries do not get a single verdict in 6 months or more. The degree of disparity is shocking and unexplainable
We believe international students are an integral part of the economic & population growth of Canada, so we appeal to the immigration authorities to revisit and reconsider our processing time, to enable our future aspiration see the light if the day in a timely manner.
Thanks and God bless you" nice one... so what the way foward, are we creating a wAtsapp group for this ? We just have to ask as e dey hot |

Legacyedition: Indian did this last year. Protested everywhere, online, vfs and embassy.
They did it and they are reaping it now.
Maybe we start our protest from Asekun. The Nigerian ambassador to Canada,
Nairobi visa office.
Ircc ottawa
Canadian Ambassador to Nigeria.
Marco Mendicino Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship .
It's getting out of hands. When those Indians were throwing tantrums last year, I was thinking they were killing their chances, never knew the oppression in this country was actually affecting my thinking and reasoning faculty.
They are reaping it now my people.
I am not good with social media, especially twitter.
Someone more knowledgeable should compose and organise how we protest this long wait. We will continue on daily basis till there's a change.
Please don't ignore . It will work.

That the highest form of reluctant ness in the way dey handle Nigerians... abeg o we have to do something.even if is to cry on Twitter, Instagram any were . We just have to do something. |

gugu40: Hello everyone. I have come to give thanks to God ooo!!!!! He deserves all the praise.
Just got the family ppr and visa (SOWP and 2 Study permit for the kids)
Special Thanks to all those that still keep this thread alive, A big thanks to @Frankrobbn1, @Justmellow, @justwise and @Akannitommy for the advice for my wife’s study visa application and my family’s visa application.
My wife got her study permit approved in November 2020 but she is still studying online here, waiting for the family to get our visa.
Na God ooooo, I want to use this platform take encourage people ooo. Age no be criteria to get study permit or SOWP because I and my wife don old ooo. We are over 40 and this na her third masters ooo.(She had done two Masters before). God can do it for anybody. Thanks.
Here’s my wife’s timeline :
Application: July 22 Biometrics request – July 23 Biometrics done – July 29 Medical Request: July 23 Medicals done – July 31 Medical Passed: August 1 BVL / Passport request: October 21 Passport submission: October 25 (Sent by Post) Passport posted back: 1st November
Family timeline 1
First Application(SOWP and 2 Study permit for 5 and 10 years old):
Application: November 15 Biometrics request for spouse – November 18 Biometrics done for spouse– November 25 Refusal for family– January 11
Refusal reasons:
1. based on travel history 2. based on my immigration status here 3. based on my family ties in Canada and in my country of residence.
I tried to get the GCMS notes from one of the online agents so as to get a better understanding on why we were refused but as fate would have it the agent sent me a mail that my order was delayed that IRCC sought an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory time limit of 30 days to process the request. This means it will take a total of 120 days.
I have a feeling that my refusal was based on my visa here; because it was to expire in one month on the day I saw the refusal email. So I waited for my office to renew my visa and with faith in God, I reapplied.
Second Application (SOWP and 2 Study permit for 5 and 10 years old):
Timeline for Family 2
Application: March 18 Medical Request for family: April 7 Medicals done for family – April 12 Medical Passed for children: April 12 Medical Passed for spouse: April 26 BVL / Passport request for family: April 29 Passport submission: April 30 (Sent by Post) Passport posted back: May 11 (Sent by Post)
Special Thanks again to @Frankrobbn1, @Justmellow, @justwise and @Akannitommy and other GURU’s for the advice they give on this platform God go bless una. Thanks. It ended in Praise. congratulations |

NwanyiOkpa: It has finally ended in praise for me. God bless Frankrobbn, Justmellow, and the many others that have been giving me hope and answering all my plenty of questions. Note that I used an agent or my application because i was too busy with work to continually study the tips on this thread and apply them. I am a second-time applicant.
Timeline: January 20th: Medical done January 27th: Application submitted with all NSE requirements- Sponsor's 1-year Mybankstatement of about 11million, IELTS result with 7.5 band, and Medical result. February 20th February 26th: Second ghost update March 4th: Third ghost update March 9th: Fourth ghost update May 4th: PPR and correspondence letter
Reason for the first refusal: They said that my finance wasn't sufficient even after i submitted an account statement of 12million and paid my first-semester tuition.
How i tackled the refusal: I paid the full tuition for the first year, provided the sponsor's account statement of 11million and i also made a notarised affidavit of sponsorship signed by my sponsor. I did not use a notarised affidavit of sponsorship in my first application but i used an affidavit from the high court. A friend advised me to use a notary lawyer for my affidavit and so far, everyone that i know that used a notary lawyer was approved. Notarised documents are recognized worldwide.
Documents submitted: All IMM forms Tuition payment receipt CAD$21,000 notarised affidavit of sponsorship notarised affidavit of good behavior police report IELTS result medical slip letter of explanation passport photograph data page of passport sponsor's birth certificate (sponsor is my brother)
NOTE: I used an agent for my application. There are a few agents that knows what they are doing. My agent did not hold back my login details like other complained about.
I got admitted into about 7 schools in the USA also but I decided to go to Canada for reasons best known to me.
God wey do am for me go do am for una.
I am so excited. As i dey type sef, my fingers dey shake. Immediately i logged in and saw that my application has been updated i was like; "these people with their ghost updates again" before i clicked on the application and saw my correspondence letter and PPR. I immediately ran and woke my dad from sleep to break the good news to him. He has always been supportive. congrat congratulations... |

JustMellow: Hello Baggiomarrio,
If an applicant is going through the NSE, an incomplete application can be traced to upfront medicals, MBS, IELTS, PCC (optional), Biometrics, etc.
Through the regular stream, an incomplete document can be PCC (optional), BS/MBS (optional except 'specifically' requested), Biometrics, Medicals (requested), etc.
n.b. during the peak of COVID-19, IRCC classified the inability to provide requested document/information i.e. inability to submit additional/requested documents or to give Biometrics, Medicals, PCC (optional for SP) as incomplete document and gave an extension of up to 90 days with the option of an extension.
However, IRCC has now reverted to the traditional rule of 30 days as VAC around the world are gradually returning to their regular activities even if they are still working with limited staff in some parts of the world. IRCC also states that if for some reasons associated to COVID-19 (lockdown), a written letter of explanation should be provided which would be at the sole discretion of the officer to refuse or approve the application.
I hope it is clear now.
Best of Luck wish I could give you a hug for this .. thanks very much |

JustMellow: Hello Baggiomarrio,
There are now two study permit streams that applicants from Nigeria must meet either stream requirement for their application to be considered as complete.
As it is clearly stated, all or a considerable number of applications for the Fall 2021 session submitted before May 15, 2021, will be processed before August 6th in time to meet with class resumption.
If your application is for the Fall session, irrespective of when you applied, you will get a decision but it doesn't stop you from having a Plan B.
Best of Luck thanks very much ..... please break it down. My scul is resuming this may . So that why am asking . I still don’t understand am just 18 |
