Politics / Re: Nbc Fines Dstv, Tstv, Nta, Trust Tv N20m Over Documentary On Banditry by Balkan(m): 7:11am On Aug 04, 2022
Does this government remember that very soon they will go back as an opposition party? Hiding terrorism instead of exposing it.

You see this same government glorified BBC for the lies against IPOB who the called a terrorist organisation. They did not ban all the media houses for Gloriffying IPOB the called a"Terrorist" organisation.

The good thing is the the Western world know this government more the themslves
Politics / Nbc Fines Dstv, Tstv, Nta, Trust Tv N20m Over Documentary On Banditry by Balkan(m): 7:07am On Aug 04, 2022
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has imposed a fine of N5 million each on Multichoice Nigeria Limited, owners of DSTV, TelCom Satellite Limited (TSTV), and NTA-Startimes Limited for broadcasting a documentary by the BBC Africa Eye titled, “Bandits Warlords Of Zamfara”.

Trust Television Network (Trust TV) was also fined N5 million for the broadcast of another documentary titled, “Nigeria’s Banditry: The Inside Story”, which was aired by the station on March 5, 2022.

NBC disclosed this in a statement titled, ‘NBC Sanction PayTV Platforms’ issued on Wednesday. August 3, 2022, and signed by its director-general, Balarabe Shehu Illela.

Recall that last week Thursday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, noted that the Federal Government would sanction Trust TV and BBC for “terrorism glorification” in their documentaries.

Mohammed said the federal government was aware of the “unprofessional” documentary by the BBC Africa Eye, where interviews were granted to bandit warlords and terror gangs, thereby promoting “terror” in the country.

While appreciating the need of educating, informing, and enlightening the public on issues bordering on developments and happenings within and outside the country, the Commission advised broadcasters to be circumspect and deliberate in the choice and carriage of contents deleterious to Nigeria’s national security.

Consequently, NBC said the airing and carriage of these documentaries, contravened the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, Sixth edition.

The relevant sections cited include “3.1.1: No broadcast shall encourage or incite to crime. lead to public disorder or hate, be repugnant to public feelings or contain offensive reference to any person or organization, alive or dead or generally be disrespectful to human dignity;

”3.12.2: The broadcaster shall not transmit a programme that incites or likely to incite to violence among the populace, causing mass panic, political and social upheaval, security breach and general social disorder; and

“3.11.2: The Broadcaster shall ensure that law enforcement is upheld at all times in a manner depicting that law and order are socially superior to, or more desirable than crime or anarchy.”

NBC said the imposed penalties on the broadcast media platforms and station was to be remitted not later than August 30, 2022.

It said failure to comply will lead to the imposition of a higher sanction as provided in the Code.

NBC enjoined broadcasters to be instruments of national unity and desist from falling into antics of using their platforms to promote and glamorise subversive elements and their activities.

“Please note that every broadcast station or platform is responsible for the content it transmits or transmitted on its platform, and shall be held liable for any content in violation of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code,” the Commission added.

naija4life247:
Obviously nah. Igbos will never vote their son. Igbos will always vote for Hausa/Fulanis.

Obasanjo was presented by the Hausa/Fulanis in 1999. Ojukwu contested against Obasanjo in 2003, and Ojukwu lost in all the 9 states of the old Eastern Region. Even in Ojukwu's home state of Anambra, Obasanjo trashed Ojukwu mercilessly.

Ojukwu contested for Senate in his own senatorial district, the Hausa/Fulani backed Igbo candidate trashed Ojukwu.

So, Peter Obituary is just an earth worm thinking itself as the Python Snake.
that shows how detibalised Igbos are. They don't vote ethincity

Throwback:
Nnamdi Kanu has endangered the lives of any Igbo youths assembling for any ceremony.

The same way any group of Fulani is seen as Boko Haram, is the same way any group of Igbo is seen as IPOB/ESN/UGM.

Do I blame the security/uniformed agencies who know what happens to them whenever they are ambushed by IPOB/ESN. Those who don't die at the ambush point, later die from torture at the ritual shrine.

The wife of the Igbo FRSC officer killed by IPOB/ESN is still mourning her terrible loss. We also remember the blown out face of Dr Akunyili as he struggled to stay alive.

Nobody wants to wait and ask questions to know true identity anymore. It is now shoot and ask questions later.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
