First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a)www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b)www.gradschools.com c)www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country.
For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test.

As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit.

Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you.

It wont take you more than a week to start sending emails, perusing each school website to see which one of them you have chances of getting into and which one meets your goals and aspirations.

UPS is the worst. Delivery of my I-20 took almost a month! If you have another option, I'll advise you use that.

Dreambound, I wanted to quote your approved visa transcript but I changed my mind . I love the fact that you had a beautiful conversation with the VO, I could practically imagine the scenario and it just made me love you more. I pray your success story inspires other aspiring undergraduates on this platform. I pray they would draw strength and courage from you, knowing that not only M.Sc or PhD students get approval. Going forward, to everyone who's yet to have a conversation with the VO, yes I keep mentioning conversation because calling it an "interview" brings a lot of pressure and anxiety. So please remember this: dark pink papers will fly in the air but it's none of your business. Your business is with the white paper. Your business is to prove you are worthy and deserving of an approval. It's okay to be nervous but don't throw #59200 away without a good fight. It's okay to have a transcript but don't do la cram, la pour, la forget. Don't go with a fake bank statement, don't say more than necessary, be confident and outspoken, do not bore the VO. You can drop your file on the table so you can use your hands to gesticulate and be more expressive, I think that helps a lot. As much as possible, try not to lie. Believe in yourself, you are not a failure. Some got their visas approved once and so what? This is your 2nd or 3rd attempt and so what? You are wiser and stronger now, you know better now, forgive yourself for your mistakes and turn the denials to your advantage, use them to gain momentum and relaunch massively on your next interview.
I have no idea why I'm writing all these, if it's for you or you, then please, take the information. You have no idea how hard I'd be rooting for you. We are in this together, we are family(even though we fight a lot ), so go get that visa!

UPS might take a while oo. They kept on giving excuses upon excuses. Took almost 3wks to get mine.

Getting a visa shouldn't be a problem because V.Os know its a good university.

You can give your lecturers as long as they can give you a very good recommendation. I left school in 2014 and I have worked with 2 organizations. So I used my line managers/team leads instead of my lecturers.

Yes, very weird. I got a J-1 visa in 2014 so I'm really hopeful that I get this one.

I got into the Global Studies and International Relations Program. I only wrote TOEFL- 91 then after evaluation, I got a 3.29 GPA
