Hi, I have a warehouse near Coker/Odunade in Lagos which can take about six 20ft containers. My original plan was to be importing goods to be stored in the warehouse but I have found out that I cannot cope with the stress of importation. Now, I am looking for nonperishable goods that I can buy whole container from major importer at a huge discount or for products produced outside Lagos that I can buy in bulk, store in the warehouse and sell to retailers in small quantities. If by reason of your business or experience you know such a product or you have links to manufacturers outside Lagos State looking for distributor in Lagos please contact me on 0813 4103494 whatsapp/sms . I am willing to pay for profitable information. Thanks.

STOP LOSS: I will like to know whether members use stop loss in their NSE trading/jijo accounts. What percent do you set stop loss for jijo purpose and how disciplined are you at taking loss at the preset % if the undesired happens . Locodemy in one of his posts says he uses 10% stop loss. I will appreciate contributions from Mcy, Loco, et all on their experience with stop loss on NSE.
@Mr Locodemy, thanks for your prompt reply to my above question. I am more keen to know the psychology of investors when the time to cut loss arises, that is, discipline to do the needful. In my case I found out that I often disregard my set stop loss when price falls to my previously set stop loss, in the hope that the price will soon pick up. Then I am interested to know whether NSE jijo traders use stop loss at all and at what percentage. Once again thanks Loco, have a great day.

talk2me2:
Guy I from the very moment I saw this your post I quickly moved into research about UACN. Here are my findings:

UACN has 2,881,296,580 ordinary shares of 50k each.
UPDC has 18.462billion ordinary shares of 50k each after the right issue.
Accordig to reuters.com UACN now own 93.9% or 17.34 billion shares of UPDC. When UACN unbundles UPDC, the 17.34B shares will be alloted pro rata to the shareholders of uacn i.e 17.34b ÷ 2.88b = 6 shares of updc for 1 share of uacn held.

In addition, UPDCREIT has 2,668,269,500 units of N10 each.
UPDC own 61.5 % or 1,640,985,742 units of UPDCREIT.
And uacn own 93.9% or 1,540,885,611 units of updcreit.
the pro rata means 1.54b ÷ 2.88b = 0.53 unit for 1 share of uacn held. Now let's multiply 0.53 by 2 = 1.06 or 1 unit of updcreit for ever 2 shares of uacn.

SUMMARY
THEREFORE, FOR EVERY TWO SHARES OF UACN THAT SHAREHOLDER HAD THEY WILL RECEIVE ONE UNIT OF 10 NAIRA EACH OF UPDCREIT AND TWELVE SHARES OF UPDC AS BONUS SHARES.

OGA YOUR HEAD IS CORRECT. grin cheesy

I have already made UACN the 65 % of my portfolio, hoping to add more before the unbundlings finally take place in July.

We are making alot of money this year. grin grin grin
You have miscalculated. For years UPDCREIT has been falling from its listed price of N10 to current price of N3.10 to N3.30 and it has been selling in this range for months. UPDCREIT will possibly drop much below its current price at the time of unbundling. I wish all these negative info we are now getting about UAC have been revealed to us about six months ago when the hype of the stock was at its highest.

Werey ma ni Caverton yi ke...What is all this nonsense!

I might just take some heat and move on abeg.
Management of Nigerian companies now have corona as excuse to rob the vulnerable retail investors even of the crumbs they declare as dividend. Just imagine the impunity of Caverton. They will follow what JBerger did and declare peanut dividend notwithstanding the already declared huge profits in q1, q2 and q3. Would Fcmb have had the temerity to declare only 14k dividend, it they did not have corona to blame? Nigerian retail shareholders need not only to be more proactive but also wake up to their rights by directly engaging management. We can start by sending emails to their top echelon asking why the further delay without explanation.

I have invested based on my due diligence and therefore made my call. The same recovery plan the management shared when it was sub N5 is what I have seen being implemented until till date.
I have no reason to believe what I am yet to see in the financials of the company.

Some comments about UACN are based on short term time frame (and should UACN dip to N3, most who talked down on it will quietly buy, chop, and clean mouth).
I am buying assets not 10, 10%.
My decision is purely based on a long term horizon (for instance, how many % dividend yield is owning UPDC-REIT for free who paid a total 58kobo final & interim dividend?)
Everyone is free to believe and decide what they are happy with. No be by force say everybody must buy UACN. Spend your money as you like.

@Arduino can you let us into your observations/dynamics of Unity bank as a jijo material? I am familiar with Jaiz whose price movement I found scintillating and almost predictable. Pre-corona its range was between 46k and 66k. Occasionally, it goes into the 70's. Post corona the price has oscillated between 49-51k making jijo difficult especially as there is somebody who is always supplying any quantity at 53k thereby avoiding price increase notwithstanding talk of possible dividend. 1st off, I'd like to commend ur manner of approach.
...it's indeed worthy of emulation, and why for the uptenth but maybe the last time, I'll talk about UACN.

When the said issue on concerns surrounding management intent on value creation with the matter of planed divestitures as well as that of the group's 'black sheep' UPDC was 1st raised by Mr TLAX, I addressed the matter here.(refer to link below)
https://www.nairaland.com/1131485/nigerian-stock-exchange-market-pick/5511#88100250

If u also dig back to the past, u'd find several post(a whole lot) I made on UACN right from when the coy was selling for N4.50 !!(issued a buy recommendation then before it rose to a yr high of N11+)
I followed that up with several analysis on VALUATION(looking at all possible divestures with certain subsets of the group) and the benefits from the proposed unbundling. ...KEY determinants like the Altman z-score, Petroisky f-score, Barniesh m-score, Sum of the parts technique, EM bootstrapping and Unbundling margin(to mention a few) were all used at the time.
...I have done enough my dear.
At this point, I do not intend to convince anyone over anything.

Its really funny that some folks quickly relate asset divestiture to value stripping without PROPERLY looking at how such assets(being divested) equate to value for the group.
Wonder if it would have been better for UACN to continue to accommodate loss making business entities like UPDC or other less progressive subsets like MDS logistics when infact they clearly feed off the VALUE drive of the group.
Its important to look to divest from entities that are parasitic and build on the ones that are symbiotic as u focus on ur areas of business strength.
...that's what the group(UACN) has set out to do !!
What is more? They are doing it, returning a part of those 'disposals' to stakeholders unlike what the likes of some like TRANSCORP did with the hospitality business arm.
And I laugh when people compare UACN to OANDO. There's a world of difference my dear !! ...a very big one at that.

Finally, except the intent from those screaming is machiavellian, there's ABSOLUTELY nothing outside the ordinary with the just released UACN report.
The group witnessed an appreciable growth in revenue and PAT MARGIN. ...with PAT from continuous operation up 28% and EPS up by above 37% to N1.32. Both growth pegs are higher than the total acceleration in admin expense where concerns were recently raised.
For emphasis, what magt did was to cut down on the initially high workforce and increase the pay of those who they think can deliver. While I am also critical of the surge on the CEO remuneration in particular, I understand why QUALITY should be prioritized ahead of quantity at this time.
Then there are also other clear improvement seen accross several key indices. ...with certain positive items in the YE report that I'd prefer to leave for latter.
That, and the accrued benefits from valuation and unbundling is the area u should FOCUS on.
The stock is a strong BUY even @ the current mkt price.
The thing about loss from discontinuous operation was already 'a requisite part of the books'.

On the 2nd part in bold, I can see reward in the report so am clinging thight to this coy.
I wonder how some folks interpret financial prints, unless they aren't seeing and where necessary, computing certain figures.

UACN is just one stock out of so many quoted coys on the exchange, yet it's on everybody's lips. wink cheesy grin
U should know why.
https://www.nairaland.com/1131485/nigerian-stock-exchange-market-pick/5534#88266191

Like I said; I am also waiting to ACCUMULATE much more as price drops.

NOTE: NOT to be infered as any sought of recommendation.
My advice: Pls follow ur instinct.
OGG: Thanks immensely for your generousity in forgiving my insistence and for taking your time to write such a detailed and reasoned response. I now see your point of view wholistically. You already know I am one of your disciple. Stay blessed Sir.

If u are in UACN, HOLD very tight and be overprotective of it.
...infact, be vigilant to massively ACCUMULATE more !!

The current huge offer is for the most part, "a mirrage".
Actual sellers are only very few.(those with eyes can see it)

In all, No point highlighting the good and inherent reward in the result.(keeping it for later)
...will be glad for it to come down in price, so some of us can accumulate much more.(note the part in bold)
I will SURELY utilize this great opportunity for good !!

These "plays" are sometimes a tradition in the "NSE room" wink cheesy grin
...but 'Mr TIME has a way of settling them'.

Selah
Dear Oga Onegentleguy, it not very satisfactory for you not to DIRECTLY address the issue of the competence, integrity and ultimate aim of the new investors of Uac as repeatedly mentioned by Mr. Emmanuelewumi while you continue to paint Uac as desirable. We all know that a management with ulterior motive and personal interest will soon decimate the interest of retail investors. Such managers render all analyses and assessment of fundamentals, such as yours, irrelevant. Pa Ewumi has opined that the new investors are self centred corporate raiders from the same stable as oando's former management whose sole interest is make profit from Uac for themselves and not to turnaround the company. Example was given of how their first act was to triple the salary of the manager. Sir, it is desirable for you and Mr Oakpearl to inform us whether you think the new investors are OK to achieve the dreamed Uac and whether you have factored in these concerns into your accumulation position.

This post by stcool needs to be taken seriously. It is common knowledge that the current bull in the Nyse is artificial as it is the handwork of the Feds buying shares and bonds to delay market crash before the US election. Most enlightened investors are sitting on cash knowing that the fed's effort cannot be sustained to November. Buffet is currently sitting on billions of dollars in cash and he is selling some of his holdings. We have no Cbn cash to prop our exchange. emmanuelewumi:
I have a feeling that the new core investors of UACN group are cow boys, they are not different from those guys at Oando.

They are PE guys, they do financial engineering, restructuring , asset stripping and will later book profit.

They don't have any track records of running a business in the real sector or turning around any business .

They should have employed Mrs Lara Elemide as a non executive director of CAP Plc, this woman came on board when CAP Plc was less than N4.00 the company had a bonuses of 1 for 3, 1 for 3 and another 1 for 1 and the stock price still stood at N35.00 when the new core Investors of UACN came on board. I did an analysis some years back on how 100k Invested in CAP Plc grew to about N8 million within 15 years excluding the dividends.

While other subsidiaries of UACN we're struggling Mrs Lara Elemide made sure CAP Plc grew from strength to strength.

Under the new management of CAP Plc, staff cost went up by 40%, CEOs pay went up by over 200%,, profit went down.

And the first time in about 20 years shareholders will not be paid dividends. The retained earnings of the company also went down by over 10% between 2018 and 2019.

Corona virus happened in 2020, the dividend is for the financial year 2019. It is obvious the new management are not shareholder centric.

We are in a recession, they have not done much business in Q1, Q2 won't be different. People won't build houses during recession therefore demands will fall, demain for marine paints will also fall.

The dividend of about N2 billion which shareholders would have been paid will be used to maintain and pay, staff and management till 2021. Since what they have as retained earnings is a paltry N2 billion that is my own thinking, I might be wrong.

Concerning UNICO PFA, they have sold that subsidiary

The new core investors of UACN should have left good turnaround managers they met on ground at UACN eg Abdul Sule, Lara Elemide for about 2 years before retiring them and still have them as non executive directors for another 3 years.

Managing and growing a business is quite different from punching calculators, making projections and analyses which Private Equity investors are known for
@onegentleguy Please Sir can you give your view on the above? Pa Ewumi thinks the core investors will ravage the company and leave minority shareholders with the carcass.
@emmanuelewunmi Sir, can one take it that you will not recommend this stock going forward?

True and not true, Sir! Individuals with limited funds, yes, but not true, for all the HNW investors and corporate guys with sqoush funds who solely look to scalp the market just 5 or 10% returns repeatedly. Some guys are even scalping with huge volume N1 net absolute returns of Zenith and GTB stocks repeatedly. They do this for a living! Just look at what the T-bills guys are doing to the equity mkts for now. The era of 25% appreciation at once for fundamental stocks in the mkt is gone for now apart from one-off or illiquid stocks. More reason, why I said earlier that the mkt for now is massively rigged against long term investors. Hopefully, post-PMB, the mkt dynamics would change, but for now... cry
'Holding stock for long term in NSE is unprofitable, at least, since the 2007 crash. .......In the past the preponderance of opinions of our gurus was that long term is good and short term a sin. I sense that in this Nsempa there is more tolerance of shortermers because they actually make money. This is a good development. Short termers, and even Jijoist, must be encouraged to disclose their strategies, methodology, observations, tips and tricks. I suspect that money bags have assembled groups of young jijo traders in the NSE who are given access to billions of Naira whose sole purpose is to make 10% over and over again for their masters, a sort of real life Wall Street Warriors scenario. My kudos goes to pioneering shortermers and jijost on this forum'

I wrote the above three months ago but one of our gurus called me an olodo instead of allowing members to consider the possibility, strange as it may be. Now Marlianvestor has raised similar issue. This time around the NSE warriors are satisfied with 5% or less gain. That those guys will sell for the smallest gain is confirmed truth for how can one explain selling Zenith for N19. At what price did they buy, was fees and commission not paid? This is why somebody suspected that counterfeit shares printed to order are been sold. May be our jijoists should consider coming down from 10% to stand a chance.

Bomboclad:
Stock prices moves up and down geometrically; if you understand a stock's geometry at any point in time, then you could predict with 90% accuracy its movement.

Having said this, there are no bad news in Nestle that I know, its just the natural flow for any stock. I just checked my charts and based on projections, I had predicted Nestle to fall as low as N1,140 before reversal to as high as N1,453 or higher (depending on results and sentiments)

I make this prediction with 90% certainty but if for some reason it doesn't go as planned, you cant blame me like someone here is blaming #RabbiDoracle for issuing an exit warning. We can only make predictions based on sound technical analysis, but nothing is certain so you are responsible for your decisions and cannot blame another for making statements based on his judgement.
Thanks for your timely input.
