As funny as ds may sound it has no answer, no career is a waste or not lucrative, it all depends on the amount of branding and managing you add to your business, Infact both have the same business model to succeed so as for me, the person should choose which he's more comfortable with and if I would be candid, if by now he hasn't written his first Hello world, then he should go sell clothe but am I the only thinking the person in question is dhtml hmmmmm |
- Programmers don't know how to ask a lady out or they don't think about marriage.... - All programmers must have one bad habit maybe smoking, drinking, flirting, coffee e.t.c |
GodMode:For real oh, I thought about that too, before I started coding.... Until I realize that all necessary is basic arithmetic, others are "if you want" |
- To know programming, your first word as you were born must be "Hello World!" if not, you can't know programming again |
- Programmers don't know how to spend money, since they on their computers all days ![]() |

preshuzpearl:Hello, *** (views/opinions here are personal and doesn't represent the view of Andela as an organization) also, this goes not only to you, but to other prospective Andela Fellows To work for Andela will require much from you, not because Andela(NAD ) is that demanding, but it's the nature of the career you are venturing into, and that's why you need to really think well before making your final decisionThis following questions should help you decide: -1 Are you passionate about software development? Do you feel you can be a god and want to create things like God? -2 Are you ready to make a career shift, because, if you looking for a Job, Andela is the wrong place, (just like going to medical school for six years and later work as an engineering, the pain will not worth the gain) though Andela has one of the best I.T company package in Nigeria, but if you coming to earn a pay, then the pay won't worth the stress and you may give up soon -3 Do you learn fast? Are you intuitive? Can you push yourself that extra mile? -4 There is a famous quote "I am a programmer, I have no other life" .....Are you willing to say that in few years time, because it will require that much from you (Ask those that work in Google, or any top tech companies, check quora.com)-5 Do you give up easily? Can you manage stress a-lot, can you stay up at night and work and still be active during the day (coffee will help out )-6 What motivates you? you have a mentor-programmer? (read up ---> Best Female Programers in the World (Quora)) -7 Are you available for four years to work with Andela? -7 Finally, you know what it means to be called a programmer, would refer you to www.quora.com (and add programming as your interest and read questions asked about programmer especially, there personal life...) If to all questions above, your answer is yes Then quit your Job, quit ur other life and lets have a coffee at Andela, at Andela we believe you can do this(and they are doing dia best to make sure you can), we are just not sure if you believe in yourself that you can.....(I may have exaggerated but they are the least of the worse that can happen as a programmer. Did this, so you can be sure of your decision and not intended to scare, moreover you not chicken-hearted!! ![]() Hoping to see y'all Cheers |
