lygn19: I mean where most of Nigeria's defence arsenals are located,,, like we have in d present kaduna state, which happens to be in the core north, it shud me moved to d centre of Nigeria(middle belt), i.e sm where like kogi(the confluence town), where d river Niger and benue meets, cause to me that's the centre of Nigeria, so that 2moro no group can come and hold d rest of the country to ransom as we have here-Wat we hav today in kaduna is training schools and nothing else, Nigeria is to complex to hav all or most of its arms in a single state...pls go and find out abt kaduna nd its military installations cos its not wat u think |
@NigeriaNewsdesk: The chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Festus Odimegwu, has resigned his appointment from the commission. |
lygn19: I am not from d southsouth, but I believe that Nigeria wud fare better if we practise true federalism, confederation and 100 percent resource control,,,Wat do u mean by defence capital? |
lygn19: If sm1 told u last year that international flights wud begin in the east, I know u wud have said, its another good idea that wud result in failure and waste,,,Are you 100% sure the National C is the right step and that GEj is truly doin it for the Benefit of Nigeria not selfish/sectional intrest? |
Nigerian leaders are good in planing but very poor in implementation. Through out nigerian history great ideas/plans hav been put forwd bt most have been poorly implemented. The NC will soon be one of those poorly. Implemented good ideas resulting in failure nd waste |
lygn19: Out of d 6 geopolitical zones, every zone is to bring a uniform delegates of 20 each.Ok Do u think 20 ppl can ably represent the diverse ppl of the Niger delta or the multy tribe North East? And how do u share the 20 delegates Will lagos hav the same delegates with ekiti? Will bayelsa hav same with rivers? Do we have any law that empowers a group of people other than the National Assembly to make laws? |
Pls to all the proponents of NC, can u tel me 1) What mode of representation will be used (tribe, state, population etc)? 2) How will the delegates be selected (election, nominations, etc)? 3) How will the resolutions be implemented? (Are the final or will they have to go through national/state assemblies) |
Pls to all the proponents of NC, can u enlighten me on 1) What mode of representation will be used (tribe, state, population etc)? 2) How will the delegates be selected (election, nominations, etc)? 3) How will the resolutions be implemented? (Are the final or will they have to go through national/state assemblies) |

Keep deceiving yourselves that thins are good and rossy in nigeria.... Corruption won't allow your demi-God (Gej) and his team (alison, wike, pej etc) to provide the necessary change nd progress |
lygn19: So who re u blaming if I might ask?Ur worry is not the situation, its simply that u think am blaming ur demi -God GEJ If that's ur only problem then I pity u |
lygn19: So who re u blaming if I might ask? Most I blame someone, am informing the General public on the level of decay in the country in case someone can do something about it or at least sympathise and pray for better days |
Perhaps we understand why many Nigerians prefer to travel abroad to get medical attention. Of course these doctors couldn't have started out with a lamp, power outage must have led to this horrible scene. The lamp must have been used to bridge the interface between the power cut and generator back-up. This is the real situation we experience in Nigeria, as the power situation gets worse everyday, despite the Billions of dollars embezzled spent to better the power sector in Nigeria. Shame on our leaders, it's more disappointing that this is a Federal Teaching Hospital. When Doctors ask for some equipments and facilities, and then go on strike the public will ridicule them, saying they want to abandon the patients, forgetting that it's for the general good, and the people who suffer the repercussion the most are the masses. We all know our leaders will travel abroad to treat common cold. Perhaps we now understand why Nigerian doctors are still on strike. http://3.bp..com/-teVfwwv4F5w/Ul7ghpqO8WI/AAAAAAAAvcc/pe_PvGxHwM8/s1600/dental+surgery+na+wa+o.jpg

President Goodluck Jonathan has said the the terrorist killings in the country has no religious or ethnic link. He spoke at the Presidential Villa while receiving the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, who led the Muslim community to pay Sallah homage on him after the Eid- El-Kabir morning prayers. According to him, the killings is because the world is generally experiencing terrorism. “That is why I asked those who killed those 50 students did they even bother about their religion or ethnicity? It has nothing to do with religion, it has nothing to do with ethnicity,” he said He however said there was need for Nigerians to “talk to ourselves in the way that our children will not develop hate amongst themselves.” “At times, when you listen to radio and read in the papers and you see sometimes even our elders that are supposed to give us leadership quarreling over nothing, sometimes even insulting themselves and even making provocative statements that will sometimes instigate one group against the other. ” We decided that we cannot continue that way, the talking must have a direction. What has been happening on the pages of the newspapers are discussions that have no direction.” “We want a country that will have a direction so the discussions must have a direction, the discussion must lead Nigeria to where we want to be, not a divided Nigeria, not a Nigeria that is sown on hate, not a Nigeria that will be based on acrimony, ethnicity and tribal sentiments in the way we conduct ourselves.” “That is a reason we set up that committee and we have given them the free will. Some people are still instigating others that the president is doing this, the government does not have the capacity to do that. We are totally committed to do what is right.” He thanked the muslim community and other visitors for finding time to pay homage. He said: “Some of you have been consistent. We thank God that inspite of the challenges we are celebrating.” “We have challenges but I’m glad that Allah made it possible for us to be here today. Other countries have had their own challenges, 53 years is a long period for an adult but as a nation we are very young.” Speaking earlier, Vice President Sambo congratulated the President’s successful outing at the recent United Nations General Assembly in the United States, Nigeria’s 53rd Independent anniversary and Super Eagle’s victory over Ethiopia in the first leg world cup qualifier. He also commended the efforts of the President towards ensuring political stability in the country. According to him, the National Conference initiated by the President was also commendable as it would promote peace and the unity of the country. Sambo and the Minister of State for the FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide later presented Sallah card to the President. At the occasion were Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim; former PDP National Chairman, Ahmadu Ali; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar and National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki rtd and John Cardinal Onayeikan |
ikwere militant: dey re bothSo who ever opposes the national jamboree (conference) is a Northerner? |
National conference is a scam, will be just a show aimed at getting more votes by GEJ |
Also, a former governor of Kano State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Shekarau, said that the proposed conference is an attempted hijack of the functions of the national assembly. In an interview with the Hausa Service of theVoice of America (VOA) in Kano on Sunday, Shekarau echoed the opinion of his successor in office, Rabiu Kwankwaso, when he said, “There is no sincerity in the proposed National Dialogue. Jonathan is looking for what will divert his attention from his total failure and their party crisis.” The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) on its own part described the proposed dialogue as a bridge to nowhere. Speaking through its national publicity secretary, Osita Okechukwu, CNPP said the conference might be hijacked by ethnic merchants. |
If President Jonathan thought his announcement of his intention to convene a national dialogue would help unite Nigerians and reduce the cacophony of opposition against his every move, he was mistaken as more and more prominent voices have continued to kick against the proposed dialogue. Already the Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as well as former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, have kicked against the conference. The Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido said that his state would not participate in any such dialogue because it is unconstitutional. In an interview which was broadcast by Radio Freedom based in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, Lamido said if the conference ever holds, Jigawa won’t send any delegate because there are already democratic institutions which are constitutionally empowered to address the issues which the dialogue is supposed to address. “This proposed national dialogue is a flagrant abuse to democracy. We have the Senate and national House of Representatives that are legally and democratically elected to represent any constituency in discussing any national issue. “Are you going to ask [Prof. Attahiru] Jega [chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission] to organise election for those that would participate in the dialogue, which I am sure he would not accept to do, or are you going to select them through nomination to go and take over the responsibility of elected ones? “So the idea of the dialogue lacks formula in our democratic society and embarking on such worthless venture is not ideal,” he said. Even the Nigeria Labour Congress is unconvinced by the proposed dialogue because they just do not trust President Goodluck Jonathan to be able to make a success of it. The NLC through its vice president, Issa Aremu, disclosed that it harbours doubts over the sincerity of the president. “The challenge, among others, lies in the sincerity of purpose and the capacity of the administration to hold a meaningful dialogue on a national scale. “If the president, his men and women cannot resolve the university crisis, given the existing country’s robust labour laws and rich collective bargaining and dialogue traditions, what trust can the nation put on the administration to handle a national conversation on more knotty issues of national development? “The president, governors and legislators were elected to deliver good governance they promised. They should not take cheap refuge in a so-called national dialogue they never promised the electorate in the first instance. It’s also about keeping promise and faith with the governed,” he said. |
