SUMMARY OF 18PAGES OBASANJO LETTER TO MR.PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN.

An apparently angry and frustrated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has written what clearly competes as one of the most acerbic letters in modern history to President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.

“Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the 18-page letter dated December 2, 2013 and exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES Tuesday.

He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.

He said in the letter titled “Before it is too late” that rather than take steps to advance Nigeria’s interest and up the standards of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.

In the detailed letter, dripping of anger , frustration and what appearsa genuine concern to rescue a nation on the brink, Mr. Obasanjo lamented that Mr. Jonathan had become terribly divisive and clannish, destroying his own party, polarizing the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations.

Without mincing words, Mr. Obasanjo blamed Mr. Jonathan for the crises tearing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, apart.

the Federal Government.
The Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom
Wike, and the Chairman of ASUU, Dr.
Nasir Fagge, confirmed the development
to newsmen at the Presidential Villa.
Fagge, however, said the leadership of the

The APC denounced the FG over
ultimatum to ASUU
A national leader of the All Progressives
Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, said on
Friday that the party was not about any of
its leaders, but about the need and
commitment to rescue Nigeria from inept
leadership.
He said that the defection of five Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, governors, to APC
last Tuesday, would bring about the
change the nation had craved for.
Mr. Tinubu spoke at the 2012/2013 Call to
Bar ceremony of the Nigeria Law School,
which held at the International Conference
Centre, Abuja.
The PDP governors who joined the
opposition APC, alongside other chieftains
of the New PDP, which fused into the
opposition party, were Chibuike Amaechi
(Rivers), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa),
Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Musa
Kwankwaso (Kwara) and Aliyu Wamakko
(Sokoto).
Two other governors in the group, Sule
Lamido (Jigawa) and Babangida Aliyu
(Niger) distanced themselves from the
alliance.
”The APC is not about Tinubu, Buhari or
any of its leaders. It is about the nation and
how we can come together and work
together to rescue Nigeria from inept
leadership,” Mr. Tinubu said.
“The implication is change. We want to
change the way things are done by
working together and investing our ideas.
We must change the way we do things.
Imagine from the 60′s till date.
“The cutlass of the 60s cannot be used for
farming now. We need leaders that can
think outside the box.”
The former Lagos State Governor said
Nigeria needed a democratic revolution
that would unleash infrastructural
development and massive
industrialization.
According to him, Nigeria was a blessed
nation with talented youth whose
potentials must be harnessed for the
development of our country.
”The lamentations must stop. After so
many years of lamentation with action, we
must lead the new resolve to rally for the
much needed change our country badly
needs,” he added.
On the ultimatum given to the striking
members of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities, ASUU, by the Federal
Government to resume work by December
4 or face sack, Mr. Tinubu condemned the
posture of the government, insisting the
country should be concerned about losing
more brains to the outside world.
”We are not in a military era. The language
used shows a government out of tune with
the general feelings of Nigerians. Nigeria
cannot continue to afford to lose her best
brains to the Diaspora,” he said.

Jonathan is so bad, that he makes APC
look like angels. Anyone that is in
opposition to this Jonathan’s worst
government in the history of Nigeria
and perhaps the world is labeled APC.
Why bother rejecting the label, I now
accept it.
Opposition= APC, I am APC then.
Finish. What more will they say? Infact,
this Johnnie and his angels’ (like
Charlie and his angels) administration
is so terrible… they say, good, better,
best. Or bad, badder, baddest. This is
the baddestest administration
conceivable. Anything that can get this
over, now if possible, but definitely no
later than 2015 is divine. 545 days to
go. Hah!
Nowadays I do not even see Jonathan
anymore, who I see is Obasanjo. It is
that Obasanjo, I do not even know what
to call him, that did this to us. Fela
Ransom Kuti turned in his grave when
we did the abomination of bringing that
man back to power. How dumb were
we? It is not Jonathan’s fault at all; it is
Obasanjo I blame for this inebriated
rubbish.
Some of his remaining 2 million
supporters say; stealing did not start
today. Well, if something is bad, did our
parents not teach us to try again, and
try and try again? We will put get this
team out and put the next guys and if
they fail, like Egypt, no waiting full term,
we will get them out again and put the
next, try and try again till we get
something better. Is this not
commonsense? Is this not our
obligation to our elderly, to our young
and to those who are no longer with us
due to the incompetence, recklessness
and mega-corruption of this
administration?
This man we call a president. How
many months after he said he knew the
sponsors of Boko Haram? He has not
done his duty as commander in chief
and arrested and helped us sentence a
single one to the death they deserve? If
that is not terror masterminding, then
what is? Am I the one that will arrest
Boko Haram sponsors? May God have
mercy on the brave soldiers and
civilians dying under this terrible
regime that protects sponsors of terror.

PoliticsRe: 49 House Members Decamp To APC by bappahman: 12:59am On Nov 27, 2013
Findings on Tuesday showed that the PDP
could lose at least four key principal
positions should many of its members
move in droves to join the governors in the
APC.
The positions under threat are Deputy
Speaker (Mr. Emeka Ihedioha); Majority
Leader (Mulikat Akande-Adeola); Chief
Whip (Ishaka Bawa); and Deputy Leader
(Leo Ogor).
Investigations showed that as of the last
count, the APC had 137 members in the
House.
It will also be recalled that at least 57 PDP
members openly moved with their
governors to the defunct New PDP.
A source told one of our correspondents
that this already implied “a likely shift in
majority leadership to the APC.”
The source added, “If you add 57 to 137,
you will get 194.
“If you deduct 194 from 360, the number is
166.
“Don’t forget that not all of the 166
members of the House of Representatives
are PDP members. There are small parties
like the Labour Party, a faction of APGA
and the Accord Party.
“What does this tell you about which party
will control the House?
“Again, more members will likely defect in
the days ahead; anything is bound to
happen.”
The PUNCH gathered that the PDP
originally had 208 members before the
crisis, out of which 57 joined the New
PDP.
The leader of the defunct New PDP, Mr.
Andrew Uchendu, had claimed that the
membership was actually up to 100.
“We are more than 57; there are more that
are behind the scene.
“We are up to 100,” he had claimed.
A National Assembly official said, “If you
take Uchendu’s position, it means the APC
will have 237 members in the House.
“That is more good tidings for the
opposition in terms of which party will be in
control.”
There were doubts on Tuesday over which
side of the divide the Speaker, Mr. Aminu
Tambuwal, belonged.
His home state governor, Aliyu Wamakko
of Sokoto State, is one of the seven rebel
governors.
The speaker has been evading taking a
categorical stance on the crisis since it
broke out.
