We have won games with Perreira and lingard starting against chelsea, It is best to rest players than using already tired players and losing the game.

The major mistake was removing Fernandez, and replacing Pogba with fred.
The coach also knew, he was gambling removing two of his best players who needed rest, his gambling almost paid off, if not for Bissaka giving away a cheap corner kick. Same Bissaka was in wrong position for the corner kick, Maguire marking his own players, James running away, Rashford allowing the opponent to use him. Lindelof was highly confused based on the positioning of his team mates, his only major fault is not keeping Obafemi offside.

I said if someone has to be rested it should be Matic. He is the most dispensable because he is the least talented of the 3 and the drop off between him and his replacements is the smallest.
Compare the gap between Matic and McTom/Fred to the gap between Pogba and McTom/Fred and between Bruno and Mata.

Matic is more dispensable than Pogba and Bruno. If you want to debate that further you are on your own.

Bruno is the only indispensable player in that setup, Before the break, we were already dominating games with mctominay, Fred and Fernandes, though Pogba is way ahead of both fred and mctominay in the team.

Also you have to factor in the total time played by the striker.

This is not a determinant as positioning is a key component of a striker, it could be that the striker that sees 60 goal scoring chance as better positioning

We might have to rest at least 3 players, I would suggest Matic, Shaw and Bruno.

Bruno should not be rested, it is best to rest Pogba than Bruno, Bruno is the one that makes our attack thick.
