Sergio Busquets, reliability
personified

Since breaking into the first team in 2008, Sergio
Busquets has played a key role in FC Barcelona’s
unprecedented success. The 28-year-old provides
possesses composure and awareness in abundance,
while his intelligence and leadership were key factors
in being made second club captain in the summer.

The central midfielder’s responsibility has increased
following the departure of Xavi Hernandez yet he is
more than stepping up to the plate with incredible
numbers this year.

In 2015, he has played 52 games out of a possible 64,
48 of which he has started. With Busquets in the
side, Barça have an 80% win rate, whereas when he
is absent, that figure falls to 66%.

Busquets has become the perfect link between
defenders and the attacking player. He has made the
most interceptions in the team, holds the highest
pass success rate and has won the most duels in
midfield, factors which contributed massively to
Barça winning five titles in 2015

Messi and Iniesta top Xavi’s
25 titles

Leo Messi and Andrés
Iniesta have once again
rewritten the Barça history books. After beating
Sevilla to win the European Super Cup in Tbilisi last
August and now adding the Club World Cup thanks to
the defeat of River Plate in Yokohama, both players
have now won 25 different senior club trophies as
Barça players.

Both players grew up at La Masia and won their first
major title in the 2004/05 season, the Liga
conquered under Frank Rijkaard. The silverware
hasn’t stopped flowing since, and the win in Georgia
tied them with club legend Xavi Hernandez, who
retired at the end of last season. The win in Japan
now makes them the outright leaders.
Iniesta, of course, can also boast two European
Championships and one World Cup at international
level, while Messi won Olympic gold with Argentina
in 2008.

Not far behind in the all-time ranking we find Dani
Alves, Gerard Piqué and Sergio Busquets, who all
made their debuts in Pep Guardiola’s first season in
charge and have won 21 senior titles each. In fact, if
we add the five titles that Dani Alves won with Sevilla
(including two UEFA Cups and one Copa del Rey) plus
another three with Bahia in his native Brazil, the
right-back is overall Barça’s most decorated player at
senior club level.

Titles with Barça

Messi & Iniesta: 7 Ligas, 4 Champions Leagues, 3
Copa del Rey, 3 European Super Cups, 6 Spanish
Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups. TOTAL: 26

Xavi: 6 Spanish Super Cups, 2 Club World Cups, 2
European Super Cups, 8 Ligas, 3 Copa del Rey and 4
Champions Leagues. TOTAL: 25

Alves, Piqué, Sergio: 5 Ligas, 3 Champions Leagues,
3 Copa del Rey, 3 European Super Cups, 4 Spanish
Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups. TOTAL: 21

Andrés Iniesta, most successful
Spanish player in history

The Albacete-born player
picked up the 29th major title
of his career
Barcelona won their fifth trophy of 2015
after lifting the Fifa Club World Cup with a
3-0 win over Argentine River Plate.

Andrés Iniesta has won more trophies than
any other Spanish player in the history of
football.

Iniesta picked up 29 club and international
team titles throughout his football playing
career, namely: One World Cup, two
European Championships, three FIFA Club
World Cups, four Champions Leagues, three
European Super Cups, seven La Liga titles,
three Spanish Cup winners medals and six
Spanish Super Cups.
Iniesta joined Barcelona in 1996 and since
then he has become one of FC Barcelona and
Spain's greatest ever players.

2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015)

MVP and top scorer Luis
Suárez overjoyed with
victory

Barça have won the Club World Cup in Japan after a
performance that was a joy for the planet to behold.
River Plate were beaten 3-0, and Luis Suárez scored
two goals to add to the three that he notched in the
semi-final. That made him by far the top scorer in
the competition, and also made him the natural
choice to collect the MVP award.

But despite the individual accolades, he insisted to
the media after the final whistle that “the most
important thing was to win the title.”

Suárez also commended Barça’s Argentinian rivals,
who “knew how to create pressure well and broke
down our game a lot.” But he was even more
impressed with his own team, of course including
Messi and Iniesta, who took the silver and bronze
individual awards. “The team made huge sacrifices to
come into this game in the right condition”
commented the Uruguayan. “Our next target is to
make sure that our level doesn’t drop off. Because
we still hope to win a lot more trophies.”

Was Mou's case as worse as Pep's who took over Barca amidst some troubles plus Barca coming from a back-to-back trophy-less season?

Need I remind you that when Pep took over Barca he had nothing in his resume? His first coaching job was in-charge of Barca B. The board brought him up to take charge of the first team (a very big risk) as against going for Mourinho. And what happened in the end?

He inherited a good Barca side you say? Smh.
Pep had no top management experience yet he still won a treble in his first season with a team that went 2 seasons trophyless and had 2 play the play off 2 enter d ucl proper that season while Luis Enrique took a team low on confidence, having also gone trophyless and had 2 get rid of 2 top players (cesc and Alexis) and bought a Luis suarez that was disgraced out of the world cup yet still won 5 trophies in 2015 still that dünce with d brain of a hen still thinks mourinho is better after almost relegating his team.

You are an "aswipe" for rating those two ahead of mou. Enrique that couldn't do jack with Roma or is it pep that's still unable to get bayern to UCL final. Mou won UCL wth Porto. I as a barca coach can win la Liga with Suarez, messi n either hazard or Neymar in my team. Nuff said.
Honestly u take stupidïty 2 a whole new level, a waste of oxygen that's what u are. Y has your mourinho not won d ucl in 2 spells with Chelsea after spending millions, or with real madrid who's the richest club in 3 seasons? Luis Enrique has won d ucl now, plus the uefa super cup and club world cup (which mourinho doesn't have in his cabinet), how a sane human being actually expect him to win it with roma is even beyond me. My take on this is... Pep should go to Arsenal to prove those doubters wrong!

Let's look at the stats here... Pep has only coached Barca n Bayern... 2 great clubs... 1 literally don't have a competitor while the other hardly goes without winning at least a league title in 2 seasons...

As much as I like Pep... He should go to clubs like Arsenal, even Man Utd don turn potato... grin

I am not saying Pep isn't fantantic as a coach but I noticed coaches like him n mourinho hardly produced anything special after 3 seasons with a club...

We need him to re-invent other ways to play with teams not the same way...like some people on Chelsea thread noted... There is much a style can work b4 being found out...

I know Pep has more in the tank only if he decides to re-establish himself... As for Mourinho... He re-invented the "pack the bus" and people says he is world's best...

He left Chelsea the defending champions - 16th after 15 games... lipsrsealed

Like someone pointed out... He suffers from inferiority complex n chooses to insult or blame everyone for his woes but himself...

It's never Mourinho's fault but it's Pep's fault...
Funny. So you'd rather pep go manage a mid table club just to prove critics wrong; like for real? Which top manager does such undecided ? Just cos of what people say, fvck their opinions. Mourinho has managed porto, Chelsea, inter Milan and real madrid; these r top clubs in their respective countries where they have d cash 2 spend and they're always favorites. This is like saying players who play at a single club for d majority of their careers aren't great cos they didn't play elsewhere

Call him 3-season wonder but there r people who love adventure, 2 travel round d world doing what dey love, doesn't make dem cowards or insinuate that they're running 4rm competition. Not everybody has d Ferguson/wenger spirit in them
