Messi and Iniesta top Xavi’s 25 titles Leo Messi and Andrés Iniesta have once again rewritten the Barça history books. After beating Sevilla to win the European Super Cup in Tbilisi last August and now adding the Club World Cup thanks to the defeat of River Plate in Yokohama, both players have now won 25 different senior club trophies as Barça players. Both players grew up at La Masia and won their first major title in the 2004/05 season, the Liga conquered under Frank Rijkaard. The silverware hasn’t stopped flowing since, and the win in Georgia tied them with club legend Xavi Hernandez, who retired at the end of last season. The win in Japan now makes them the outright leaders. Iniesta, of course, can also boast two European Championships and one World Cup at international level, while Messi won Olympic gold with Argentina in 2008. Not far behind in the all-time ranking we find Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué and Sergio Busquets, who all made their debuts in Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge and have won 21 senior titles each. In fact, if we add the five titles that Dani Alves won with Sevilla (including two UEFA Cups and one Copa del Rey) plus another three with Bahia in his native Brazil, the right-back is overall Barça’s most decorated player at senior club level. Titles with Barça Messi & Iniesta: 7 Ligas, 4 Champions Leagues, 3 Copa del Rey, 3 European Super Cups, 6 Spanish Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups. TOTAL: 26 Xavi: 6 Spanish Super Cups, 2 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 8 Ligas, 3 Copa del Rey and 4 Champions Leagues. TOTAL: 25 Alves, Piqué, Sergio: 5 Ligas, 3 Champions Leagues, 3 Copa del Rey, 3 European Super Cups, 4 Spanish Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups. TOTAL: 21

MVP and top scorer Luis Suárez overjoyed with victory Barça have won the Club World Cup in Japan after a performance that was a joy for the planet to behold. River Plate were beaten 3-0, and Luis Suárez scored two goals to add to the three that he notched in the semi-final. That made him by far the top scorer in the competition, and also made him the natural choice to collect the MVP award. But despite the individual accolades, he insisted to the media after the final whistle that “the most important thing was to win the title.” Suárez also commended Barça’s Argentinian rivals, who “knew how to create pressure well and broke down our game a lot.” But he was even more impressed with his own team, of course including Messi and Iniesta, who took the silver and bronze individual awards. “The team made huge sacrifices to come into this game in the right condition” commented the Uruguayan. “Our next target is to make sure that our level doesn’t drop off. Because we still hope to win a lot more trophies.”

hensben:Am very certain ur mother had a sweet encounter with a bush baby when she conceived u. U and common sense r like oil and water so even if u try 2 make sense u just can't cos its way beyond u.
|
Chelseafan1:If only hensben d dïckhead can see this epiphany |
dmcdad:Pep had no top management experience yet he still won a treble in his first season with a team that went 2 seasons trophyless and had 2 play the play off 2 enter d ucl proper that season while Luis Enrique took a team low on confidence, having also gone trophyless and had 2 get rid of 2 top players (cesc and Alexis) and bought a Luis suarez that was disgraced out of the world cup yet still won 5 trophies in 2015 still that dünce with d brain of a hen still thinks mourinho is better after almost relegating his team. There should be a stiffer punishment for dumb posts |
hensben:D level of deranged tissues in ur brain is beyond repair 4 even saying u ever lectured me in anything. Are u stupid by default or is it just a hobby u failed 2 outgrow ? U conveniently left out d uefa super cup u ïmbecile, why didn't he win that since he's played it? I repeat; pep and Enrique >>> mourinho and fifa will prove it come January, u can do d world a favor by hanging yourself Pathetic dünce |
dmcdad:Don't mind d idïot. An unrepentant masochist foool he is |
hensben:Honestly u take stupidïty 2 a whole new level, a waste of oxygen that's what u are. Y has your mourinho not won d ucl in 2 spells with Chelsea after spending millions, or with real madrid who's the richest club in 3 seasons? Luis Enrique has won d ucl now, plus the uefa super cup and club world cup (which mourinho doesn't have in his cabinet), how a sane human being actually expect him to win it with roma is even beyond me. U can go tie 4bags of Dangote cement and jump into d lagoon if it irks u that much. Mou won it with porto(portugal's biggest football club) ; mumu Ure still putting hazard in the same sentence as neymar after the latter has even been nominated for d ballon d'or. Ure such an unrepentant foool |
hensben:I can c ure still in dis asinine mode of yours; spewing trash like ur life depended on it. Keep hating, Enrique just won the Club world cup Both pep and Enrique >>> mou |
airmark:When will Chelsea even win just 1 club world cup like Busquests? U seem 2 b enjoying ur dry trolling which is getting boring btw There is a real madrid thread if u love dem so much so there and continue singing kumbaya |
airmark:Continue embarrassing yourself |
#campIon5 #campIon5 Oh eh… Oh eh… Oh eh…
|
airmark:They won that in the year 2014 not the 2014/15 season. A treble is calculated with regular football seasons not calendar years |
iPopAlomo:U only see what your eyes want 2 see Ride on |
iPopAlomo:Call it whatever u want. Fact is football is about winning cos that's what history remembers. What's d use of playing in d ucl for donkey years like arsene wenger without winning it? Its a perennial waste Better give honor to whom its due |
coded01:Funny. So you'd rather pep go manage a mid table club just to prove critics wrong; like for real? Which top manager does such ? Just cos of what people say, fvck their opinions. Mourinho has managed porto, Chelsea, inter Milan and real madrid; these r top clubs in their respective countries where they have d cash 2 spend and they're always favorites. This is like saying players who play at a single club for d majority of their careers aren't great cos they didn't play elsewhere Call him 3-season wonder but there r people who love adventure, 2 travel round d world doing what dey love, doesn't make dem cowards or insinuate that they're running 4rm competition. Not everybody has d Ferguson/wenger spirit in them |
dmcdad:Hahahahaha pure redefine trash Its even stink d more coming from an arsenal fan |
