Nihilist: Adebayor is still earning 175k a week despite last playing professional football in March...and being without a club since September.
The other day, I saw that Jamie Vardy was earning only 850 pounds per week when he was at Fleetwood town. I dont even know where the town is, yet they could afford to pay a footballer around double the average wage earned in by regular people in the UK. And this was when they were in the Conference.
If my son refuses to play football, I will sell him and make another one. How can he be earning that much when he's actually a free agent? |

Messi pays tribut to basketball star Kobe Bryant It's always sad to hear when a sportsman is retiring. But Kobe Bryant will always be in the history books as one of the greatest. It was he who helped me become interested in basketball. All the best in the next stage of your life, Kobe.

sebod: With due respect, I doubt if you ever watched Zidane play, and I'm sure the only time you saw Busquests play was either against Chelsea or City/Madrid. Hence, the reason you seem not to understand the point about the comparison. Then the question is, how do you even mention a player that only gets to touch the ball twice in a season with a player that's a key figure for not just any club but Barca, and Spain.
So, you are allowed to shake that head well. By the way, did you see where you were denied as a Chelsea fan? We still don't know where you belong.

The Barca player was disappointed his team- mate didn't join him and Neymar among the three finalists for the Fifa prize Lionel Messi believes Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez deserved to be named among the finalists for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The Argentina international was named as one of the three players up for the prestigious individual prize on Monday, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar the other two.
That meant there was no room for Suarez, the third member of Barca’s three-man attack. Between them, they have scored 125 goals in 2015 so far, with the Uruguayan contributing 40 of them - including several important strikes as Barca clinched the treble last season.
“I’d have liked to be on Ballon d'Or podium with Ney and Luis,” Messi said at the La Liga awards ceremony on Monday night where he was named as the league’s best player for the 2014-15 campaign. “Luis deserved it, but Cristiano did as well - we'll have a good time [at the Fifa gala].” In addition to his best player award, Messi also scooped the award for best forward in Spain’s top flight last season.
Accepting his trophies, he said: “I’d like to dedicate this award to my son, Thiago. “When I leave home, he always gets mad and says: ‘Are you going to the goal again?’ Yes, I tell him, I’m going to the goal!
“I am grateful for these awards - after the season the team played, we deserved some recognition, maybe even a little more…”
Neymar, who was named La Liga’s best American player for the last season, also added his disappointment at seeing Suarez miss out on the final three for the Ballon d’Or. “Being nominated for the Ballon d'Or means a lot,” the Brazilian said. “Suarez should have been there as well, though - but Messi is the favourite, he's the number one for me.” Former Liverpool forward Suarez responded with grace as he watched his two strike partners pocket awards and nominations throughout the day on Monday.
Writing on Twitter, he said: “Congratulations, friends!!!! Really proud of you. I’m really glad.” |

Luis Enrique candidate for FIFA Best Coach of the Year
Not just Leo Messi and Neymar will be vying for award the FIFA Gala in the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco as best FIFA players of the year. On 11 January 2016, Luis Enrique Martínez is also in the mix after he was named alongside Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich) and Jorge Sampaoli (Chile) as one of three candidates for FIFA Best coach of the year.
Luis Enrique won the league, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in his first season as coach at FC Barcelona. Furthermore, he also won the European Super Cup against Sevilla in the month of August. At the moment, Barça lead the Spanish league with 33 points after a perfect November and they are already through to the last 16 of this season’s Champions League as group winners.
2015 in numbers
The Asturian coach has led the side in a total of 58 matches so far in 2015. His statistics include the treble and the European Super Cup and are without doubt highly impressive. In total he has won 47 games, 5 draws and suffered just 6 defeats, a record that has rewarded him with a nomination for the FIFA award for the best coach of the calendar year. During his 58 games in charge, Barça have scored 160 goals and conceded 49.
