Some people are naturally born an entrepreneur. That is, there is a gene of entrepreneurs flowing in them. They naturally possess the traits of entrepreneurship. Some of these people can either belong to a family where their fore fathers and immediate parents are entrepreneurs. So, they grow with entrepreneurship mind set. The success rates of this class of people is very high. Entrepreneurs can also be made. The same way that no one is born a teacher, doctor or an accountant. People study to become who ever they like to become. Everybody is a product of what he/she takes in. So, in the same manner, people can learn entrepreneurship but unfortunately our school system has not allowed this to thrive. Whether entrepreneurs are lucky, I will quote a saying from a man I respect so much. He said, "luck is when preparation meets an opportunity". Therefore, if anyone can prepare himself for an opportunity so that he can quickly make most of it when the opportunity comes, the person will be successful. But to an ordinary man, the person is just lucky. That is my contribution. Readers can enhance their entrepreneurial skills by following those who are already there: http://businessinfohub.com

Let the will of God be done in our dear country. It is my prayer that whoever emerges as Senate President will promote peace and unity. God will give him wisdom needed to lead aright and abundance grace in the formulation of good policies. Nigeria will succeed.

Thanks for this post. That is the gospel truth. People borrow to acquire liabilities. Some people even accumulate liabilities unknowingly thinking they are buying assets. I like how the author or Rich Dad, Poor Dad defined Assets and Liabilities. He said: "Assets are what bring money into your pocket" while Liabilities are what take money out of your pocket". This definition changed my spending pattern. If a particular so called asset is not bringing in income for you, it is a liability in disquise. Simple! On the other hand, in the case of borrowing, people see all borrowings as debts. But if one follows the advice of the post above, debt can turn out to be an asset. Don't borrow to finance an idea or business that is not tested so that you don't get your hands burnt. But if you do your homework properly, debt can actually serve as a leverage. I know everyone has his/her preferences for everything. When it comes to websites, once I visit one in a particular sector/category, I just stick to it. Not that there are no others. Back to your questions, these are my preferred websites which I can say I visit regularly. For Ecommerce: Konga, followed by Jumia General News: www.nairaland.com Entrepreneurship/Business Articles: www.businessinfohub.com I even bookmark them and make them my home pages. So, anytime I open my browser, they load automatically. |

This type of email is becoming rampant in Nigeria. I don't think there is a week I will not receive one of such. At times, they use bank official domain name to perpetrate their scams. Of course, I won't be surprised if some of them are bank's staffs. What put me on enquiry was when I began to receive mails from banks I never opened an account with. What I will advise is that if you need to update any information, go to your bank physically. As regarding if scammers can be punished, I say 'Yes'. You can report to EFCC but ensure you have all your facts accurate so that it won't turn out to be a false accusation; a case of hunter being hunted.

That is a myth! There is nothing like 'risk-free' business. Every business has element of risk. Some may be high while some may be low. The higher the risk, the higher the likely return. But government securities such as Treasury Bills has little risk involved. But I cannot ascertain the rate now.

This is avoidable

I advise that you don't just get the cost. Get a detailed business plan.

It is not the money you need at this moment. This is a bitter truth. You need to engage in positive thinking. Purge your heart of every negativity. If you look around, you will probably see those people you are better off. You will see the lame, the blind, the deaf and other impaired people. They did not commit suicide. If you believe in prayers, I advise you to pray and possibly seek for counsel from trusted and faithful man of God. There is no problem that is insurmountable. Other people have pass through the same challenge and later became somebody. If you see yourself among this class of people, you'll not think of killing yourself. |
