The Honda CR-V is not known for having electrical issues but you must note that all cars are prone to electrical issues if abused by a quack electrician(including the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle). However, some cars can tolerate abuse while some can send you parking to your village the day a kazeem touches it. I can't speak for the 2003-2006 model but I once owned the 1999 model from 2015 to Nov 2018 until I sold it to upgrade. I must tell you that car is a work horse. I drove it without thermostat all through, a kazeem once bypassed the relay & connected my double fan directly to the battery yet I travelled with it from PH to Benin & back(with A/C) until my trusted electrician reverted It back to the relay.
The only times i visited a mechanic was for servicing & change of upper arm/shaft/b.joints. I never worked on that engine even though I was the 2nd naija user. The new owner uses thesame engine till date.
Damn! that car left me with so much memories. What I miss the most about that car is the A/C. It can literally freeze your fingers within 10mins even on fan speed 1.

It is a reliable SUV as well if properly maintained but you dare not buy an abused one cuz It can be so frustrating. It is pricey to purchase with toks selling for 2.6-3.2m while naija used is from 1.8m. The v6 variant is a small-but-mighty beast on the highway cuz it dishes out 270 HP & 246 of torque(faster than many v6 sedans). The 4 cylinder has a good pick up speed as well. Both engines have good fuel economy.

Nairalanders will be asking questions & be claiming it's for a friend. Una well-done.
Anyways,1998-2001 Honda CR-V is a very reliable SUV, easy & cheap to maintain with low fuel consumption even when driving with A/C. It is very spacious & it has a bullet proof engine(even stronger than a Camry engine).Toks is 1m-1.1m while fairly used is 450-550k depending on how neat it is.
You can as well go for the 2003-2006 model if you can afford it. Very solid suspensions(legs don't pull), easy to mail and it moves like a jet even if it has a 4 cylinder engine. Toks is 1.4-1.7m while naija used is between 750 to 950k. Note that these models are not known for electrical issues even when abused by your local kazeems.

Go to Port Harcourt you will find some roads & streets in Diobu named Ilaobuchi, Nanka, Ijemanze, Ikokwu, Ojoto etc all the houses in these streets/roads were forcefully collected from their Rivers state owners by Biafrans & their original names were changed & they were given Igbo names. Note that these houses were later reclaimed by their real owners after the civil war.
When the war was going on, Ken saro-wiwa asked Ojokwu to show him the map of Biafra and his plans for the Niger Delta region & it was @ that point he knew that ojukwu & his Biafra cohorts were only after the newly discovered oil in the region & they had no plans for the Niger Delta other than loot & forcefully collect their houses & resources & call us minorities.
Ken-Saro wiwa had to make a U-turn & choose the lesser evil even if it claimed his life some years later.
Mark my words Biafra is dead and gone for ever.

I have read the reviews on the website above & there isn't even 1 positive review about the car which is biased. Every car has its positive & negative sides.
Even if you check the online reviews on 1999 Toyota Camry, you will still read alot of negative comments about it. AMERICANS COMPLAIN ALOT.
Update: Transmission of the MO has been certified ok & vehicle has been purchased. Servicing is in progress atm.Just bought a new set of Camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensors too.

Murano has 2 major issues in Nigeria

the gear is a CVT and the gear oil is Nissan NS-2 but the NS2 must be OEM not clone or fake.

The AWD Murano has a transfer case after certain use, the seals degrade causing leaks which eventually leads to failure the worst case scenario for this is total gear failure too.

What you must do for the transfer case is to be observant and any leakage should be tackled using the required sealant for effective cure.

One more thing, Nissan doesn't like Abuse, bypass, remix, managing, Akagum owner etc goodluck

thanks Bro for this info. The Murano I'm talking about is the Fwd SL trim and is Non-AWD therefore I don't think it has a transfer case.
People just make it seem like it is the worst CUV ever produced and that even if properly maintained, all the parts will just start falling off while driving it.
I'm going there by noon today with a Nissan expert to inspect/scan it. If he certifies it OK, I will pick it up.

What can still go wrong with Murano if the engine & the transmission are regularly serviced by their recommended fluids?That you obviously hate the car doesn't mean it's a bad ride. It's different stokes for different folks in the world we live in.
Afterall I have met people who have sworn never to buy a Lexus Rx330 that it's a problematic car.

I suggest you convince me with facts why MURANO is a bad and problematic car.
All I hear from people is 'Run' from it without anybody stating with facts why it's a bad car.
Every car has its bad side and there are some brands of cars that don't tolerate abuse eg Peugeot, Audi, volks, Benz, volvo etc yet people buy and drive these cars in naija everyday.
Apart from the fragile transmission which requires to be serviced ONLY by NISSAN NS2 CVT oil, what are the other Cons of the car?

P.S there are some Murano owners who have driven their cars for 5 or more years without transmission replacement.
