If it is the issue of youruba vs hausa in islam I know that one is a fact.
Back in the days as a kid, their was only one mosque in Asaba, located at cable point in Asaba which served as the only worshiping mosque for all moslems in Asaba - both hausa and youruba. When the hausa imam of the mosque was no more, the next in command was the second imam of that mosque who was a youruba man, the mantle naturally was passed over to him as the chief imam. Behold, the hausas vehemently refused and rejected the yoruba imam saying that they can not be under a yoruba imam. It brought serious fight among them in Asaba and in anger, the yoruba moslems left that mosque for the hausas in cable and got a plot of land at Abuta juction Asaba where they built their mosque with planks.
They have upgraded it now with normal block work. The mosques are still existing In Asaba till date. I don't know why the hausas see yorubas as second class moslems; it is callous.

I cannot denied what you have said also i don't know the reason why they rejected him (yoruba imam) but one thing is certain there is no discrimination's in islam whatsoever, all muslim are brothers to one another unless those who claiming they are muslim but they no nothing about the doctrine of islam.
