@rockafela
What about those schools that doesnt require one to pay tuition fee until after ur arrival?

If that is the case you explain to them that is what the school says, no big deal
TravelRe: Nigerian Students In Canada: How Do You Survive? by bashtee: 12:14am On Jun 06, 2012
@sucre cruz
Nothing serious, just the normal check by the immigration on your luggage and your passport, when you get to canada the immigration will also check your documents your passport, your school admission letter and tuition payment receipts, these are documents i was asked to present.dont bring any thing like meat or palm oil.

@ Silibaba

The best thing to do is to get the School phone number and call to get a first hand information to your questions.
As per CHDC granting you visa ordinarily they should given that you are going for a genuine reason however my personal opinion is that it will be difficult to grant you visa just to go and write test for admission,when you look at the fact that those that have confirmed admission have been having it tough getting visa.Save your money and time,apply to another school with similar program or as you said talk to the school if they can set the examine for you at the embassy,if you get your result and admission that is when its advisable to apply for visa.
Last one you cant work without a work permit.

@Dipo Congratulation, you really deserve it. So you are coming to Humber College,its among the leading colleges in Toronto, when is your Resumption date?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada-part2 by bashtee: 10:54am On Apr 27, 2012
@ dipo
I have thought along this line too and i'm looking if i can secure another admission in one of the canadian colleges where i won't have to pay up to the CAD13k humber requires. George brown for ex has a similar course but my CAD application was with my Humber offer. If i get the trv before i pay humber's fees, can i go to a different sch? Or must one go to the sch he applied for try with?

You cant change like that, you will have to resume at humber college,after 6 month that is when you will be able to change school,am not even clear about that you will have to get that info from the school about the change. What course are you going for

By the way, I'm having a little dilemma. My long term intention is to settle in CA and if i cant, at least return to naija with an MSc. My CA admission is to Humber Collegge and tuition is about =N=2M (PGD program). Meanwhile, i have an application for a MSc in Hongkong (Yes, chinko ) in consideration and the fact that its a MSc. is what attracts me (the tuition is just over a =N=1M and the school has top world ranking). Moreover, there are more opportunities in my chosen area of telecoms in Hongkong than in Canada from what I see. If I am convinced that I can find my way around settling in canada after completing my Humber college study, i will be fine with Canada, but if i dont get the permanent residence and have to return to niaja without a MSc, I will cry blood
Kindly drop your thoughts.

If you come to canada through student visa,after completing your studies you will have to apply for one year post graduate visa where you will be working to gain work experience in canada,after that you will be qualified For PR, Humber College is one the leading colleges here in Toronto with the certificate and a canadian PR you can travel to Hong kong to check out opportunities. You can as well marry a canadian and get your PR that is another option of getting PR.So weigh your options well.

@ My people, I acted on this advice and I can confirm to you that I have my Medical Instruction with me right now. I submitted less than a month. So please act fast. I would give a comprehensive timeline of events and docs I submitted soon.
I have an urgent question though. Am I supposed to open the small sealed brown envelop that came with the medical form or I am supposed to deliver the envelop sealed to the clinic? Please respond Sirs&Mas

Dont open the sealed envelope take it like that to the doctor that will examine you, that happened to me during my time, i opened the sealed envelope before i met the doctor and she was a bit mad,but everything went well. Congratulations for your medical call up,you are already in canada.

Let him write you a letter of sponsorship stating his relationship with you and his ability to sponsor you and also a court affidavit of sponsorship to back it up.I believe he has adequate fund in his account,he should also get a letter from his bank stating that he is signatory and has access to the funds.If you have personnal account you can add as well,with pay slip, these are all what i did and God answered my prayer, if you need the sponsor ship format let me know.
cheers

The sponsorship documents are key to them especially the bank statements from my returned documents the bank statements were marked with a certain number written on them this indicated that they were thouroughly verified,one of the banks statements was not even returned, d rest of my documents were not marked like dat.
Pls always ensure that your bank statement is well funded,support it with a letter from the bank indicating that your sponsor is signory to the acct and back it up with a court affidavit.

I would like to thank the house both old and new members for the direction,I followed the thread right from day one.For new members if you can be patience and follow the thread from day one you will be get a the needed clues to package a sucessful application.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada-part2 by bashtee: 10:22pm On Feb 21, 2012
@eo2002
That is a positive development,verification of act shows dat you ve satisfied most of the requirments,act verification is usually the last thing ,if d response frm ur sponsor is positive then you are home and dry.

Paying of tuition fee gives the impression that you are actually going there for studies and also show that you certified the requirement of financing your studies.But before make any payment try and find out from the school what the refund policy is.
