And having them both look at me and be like, what are you, what are you talking about? At that point, I then started to open my eyes to the fact of, oh, you can actually be a fan of Trump and be a Republican and not be white. Like that thought had never crossed my mind before. And the only reason was because when I lived in Maryland and I grew up, like you are so ingrained and brainwashed to believe that Trump and any really any Republican is scary and racist and homophobic and transphobic.

It's just the rhetoric that floats around in your brain all day long, that's what everybody else is telling you. And because you live in an echo chamber of people who are just stating the exact same thing, you never envisioned that life outside of that echo chamber actually exists. And also there were just a lot of things that happened in 2020 that really started waking me up and how I was treated.
