alexistaiwo: I used to save her name with 'Queen B' but after one of our misunderstandings. I resolved not to ever save her name on my phone though I know her digits by heart. She knows and she had been begging me to reconsider my stance but I told her that even if we ever get to marry each other I still won't save her number. It is not that I don't love her far from that. THAT IS HOW I KEEP MY GIRLFRIEND IN CHECK. I CAN'T SHOUT you are right. What women needs to stay loyal is for them to know that there are consequences for any action |

You’ll only need a one-year computer science diploma to get Buhari’s NCC board nomination.
No wonder Nigeria is in recession when u have a semi illiterate President appointing one year diploma holder into sensitive positions. And we have qualified people roaming the street. May God give to Obama and co, what they gave to Nigeria |

Culture › Re: Why Oba Of Benin Was Covering His Mouth by basingstoke: 5:05pm On Oct 21, 2016 |
GurlFriend: Yesterday, Oba Ewuare ll N'Ogidigan ascended the revered throne of his ancestors to become the 40th Oba of Benin, succeeding his late father, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolopkolo, Oba Erediauwa.
The photo below of the newly coronated Oba puzzled many people.
Why was the Oba covering his mouth? It was obviously a cultural act but what was the significance? Even his wives covered their mouths.
I did some investigation and found out the following:
The Oba usually covers his mouth because when he talks he is the supreme authority. Whatever he says is final.
People talk on his behalf most of the time and whatever they proclaim becomes the Law with immediate effect.
A friend of mine who is a painter said he did a painting of the old Oba and it was rejected because it depicted him smiling. According to tradition, people are not supposed to see the Oba's teeth so he doesn't smile.
His wives covered their mouths as a sign of submission.
Don't you just love our culture? So rich and varied!
If I have any fact wrong, please clarify.
Oba atokpei, iseeeeeee!!!

AirFireEarthH20: Una go tire with devilish propaganda, no be Akwa Ibom where I come from. Even if you want to sack or jail Justice Inyang that's non of our business but if you think APC can capture Akwa Ibom with that crook Umana O. Umana, although personally I don't like Udom Emmanuel, that means you are a novice in politics esp as it concern Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa.
Obasanjo that is even stronger and more brutal and intelligent than Buhari connived with Victor Attah to install their stooge it didn't work let alone an unintelligent and naive person like Buhari will put his man in Akwa Ibom. That must be a joke taken too far So you mean Buhari is a dullard ? |

BuariCopyPaste: Most Yorubas claimed that Jonathan marginalized them but they rejected the speakership position zoned to them.
But the same people that shouted marginalization under GEJ are now comfortable with it under Buhari, they don't care if Buhari fills all the positions from his village as far as they are none Igbo/ ND.
South East will never vote a buhari instead they would not vote at all. That is what principle is all about....I will not be wrong when I say Yorubas have no principle. God Bless you |

dfrost: The thing tire me. I was ordering some books online and each cost about $8.50. My colleague asked me why don't I download the softcopy.
I guess he doesn't understand what it means to own a classic and smile at them when they are sitting comfortably in the shelves of your library.
Ooh yah!!! It's like having a wine cellar My brother. I know that feeling. Each time I look at Charles Dickens's Great expectation, it brings back a barrage of strong old feelings. I had that book when O was 16. Tell me , can a soft copy provoke such emotions ? |
