Christianity Etc › Re: Hmmm. . . . . Muslim Family Kicked Off Plane by Bastage: 1:56pm On Jan 04, 2009
Don't be ridiculous! Are you therefore suggesting that it is unlawful to speak to your family members while walking through a plane trying to decide which seats to choose?
My guess is that you don't fly that often.

1) If you're discussing the demise of the plane that you are travelling on, it is illegal. That is a fact in UK and probably in US law too (in fact even more so over there). Many, many people have been refused flights, removed from flights, arrested and convicted for doing just that. The vast majority were not Arabs or Muslims.

2) You don't decide which seat to choose. The airline allocates them to you. These people were wandering down the central aisle of the plane discussing it's destruction.

You cannot on your own having read this press story, just conclude that their conversation contained the words "crash", "device", or "explode"
Then what logical explanation could there be for their discussion?

They were thrown off the plane because being obviously muslims, their fellow passengers would already be primed and would have paid close attention to their conversation
You would have a point if this was an isolated incident. But as I've already pointed out, there have been plenty of other people, who weren't Muslim and who got refused flights for the same sort of thing. Therefore, you have no point. You're just one of the liberal, PC crowd who doesn't know what they're talking about.

It is very unlikely that a potential hijacker will be speaking about his intended actions so loudly that other passengers on the flight will hear of it even before the plane has left the ground.
It is very unlikely that the people jailed for saying that they have a bomb in their luggage when asked if they have anything to declare are potential hijackers either. But they're still jailed.

The latest BBC report on Gaza.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7810334.stm

Eyewitness: 'We live with worry'

BBC journalist and Gaza resident Hamada Abu Qammar reports from Gaza as Israeli ground forces clash with Hamas fighters:

There is a constant din of warfare
Last night where I live, in the central part of the Gaza Strip, we could hear bombing, artillery fire and also shooting from helicopters.
I was watching from the top of my brother's house. It was terrifying. I also went out into the streets in our area. It was virtually empty of people.
We are worried about air strikes, particularly because the Israelis have warned a family near us that they are planning to destroy their house.
People here were shocked, panicked and terrified from the first air strikes a week ago.
I have been trying to stop my children crying. I try to keep them playing, I am with them now. I just want them to ignore what's going on around them. They slept some of the night, but the sounds of the bombardment keep waking them up.
Now here's the deal.
Israeli civilians have been suffering from the same thing for years. The big difference is that they get no warning from Hamas that a rocket is heading for them and they never warrant a story on the front page of the BBC.
But this goes to show just how biased Western media is. Where are the news reports about the effects the constant Hamas barrages have on Israeli children? Where are the news reports about how they spend most of their lives below ground in bomb shelters cowering from Hamas rockets? Where are the news reports about the thousands of kids who have been diagnosed with psychological problems because they live in daily fear or Hamas rockets?

Stop being an idiot and shouting "Poor little Muslim".
The fact is that white Christians would and have been pulled of planes for the same thing.

Grow up.

Do you think this news will come up if they were to be  white or their appearance  wasn't that islamical or Arabian?
No. If they were of any other appearance but Arabic, then it would probably not have made the news. They would have been arrested, missed their flight and faded into obscurity, just as hundreds have. But because they're Muslim, the liberal PC bandwagon starts whining on about how their "rights" have been affected.

Simple fact. Unless you're a total and utter idiot, you don't walk down the centre aisle of a plane, talking about where the safest place to be is when it crashes.
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Lie That Is Gaza by Bastage: 10:39am On Jan 04, 2009
Media lead us to believe that Gaza is a prison camp where people are living a miserable existence and starving to death.
It's lies.

Khaled Abdel Shaafi, director the United Nations Development Program (December 15th, 2008):

"There is a large surplus of fruit and vegetables [in Gaza]. The vast majority of people here aren't wanting for food. Reports of children suffering from malnutrition are exaggerations. This is not a humanitarian crisis, it's a political crisis, but it's not a humanitarian crisis. People aren't starving."

Rafah, on the border with Egypt, always was regarded as the poorest of Gaza's towns. Not any more. Today, its dusty market is packed with products and with shoppers.

The way I see it?

Israel goes into Gaza.
UN calls for withdrawal.
Hamas negotiates with Abbas.
Palestinian Authority under Fatah reinstalled in Gaza.
Israel withdraws.

It wouldn't suprise me if the plan all along hasn't been to reinstall Abbas and Fatah as the power-brokers in Gaza.

Osama had guts? Guts enough to fly planes into the WTC murdering thousands of civilians?
Guts enough to fight soldiers?

No. He got other people to do that for him whilst he hid in a cave.

I'm sure he is one of those Sunday-Sunday Christians that that God should kill all Muslims.
LOL. I'm no "Christian". And I don't think God should kill all Muslims. Just the asshole terrorists and terrorist sympathisers amongst their numbers.
As the old saying goes - Not all Muslims are terrorists. But most terrorists are Muslims.

Is your mother a harlot? Goat.
Didn't you know? She used to work in the same pepper soup joint with your mother. Idiot.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Destroys Hamas Homes, Flattens Gaza Mosque by Bastage: 1:15pm On Jan 03, 2009
We all remember how Hezbollah dealt with those Zionists in 2006!
Yes we do, Jew-hater.
Hezbollah dealt with them by getting hundreds of innocent Lebanese civilians killed and then claiming victory.
It's amusing to see how the terrorist sympathiser changes tactic and use the death of civilians as a pointer to an Israeli defeat. One minute he's whining about the poor Palestinian civilians and the next stating that glorious Hezbollah kicked Israeli ass by starting a war which ended in suffering and death for Lebanese civilians. Hypocrite.

Sometime in the future, when Israel goes to war against a national force, like Russia, China, Turkey or Iran, and millions of Israelis are wiped out, I hope those alive then will remember how the Israelis enjoyed the killing of Palestinians.
LOL. Russia, China and Turkey are no threat to Israel. Iran is nothing but a sabre-rattling slowpoke with intentions of dominating the Middle East. If Israel attacked Iran, the Arab world would love it - they hate Iran even more than the Jews or the Yanks.
The same as Hamas. Why do you think Arab nations are quiet? It's because they loathe Hamas even more than the Israelis do. Hamas is much more of a threat to Egypt than it is to Israel. It's more of a threat to the Jordanians and the Lebanese. They love it when Israel takes Hamas to school.

But as usual, you totally miss the point. Maybe you should surf on over to www.disney.com.
It's more of a match to your IQ.

The idiot has probably gone to jerk off to images of dead Palestinians!
Nope. Images of your mother.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Destroys Hamas Homes, Flattens Gaza Mosque by Bastage: 1:03pm On Jan 03, 2009
Let me put it in words that even a slowpoke like you can understand.

You shoot at me and my family, I shoot back at you and your family.
Whining because I'm more powerful than you is the act of an idiot.
You don't want me to shoot at you? Then stop shooting at me.
It's as simple as that.

But Jew-haters like you don't want to see the truth, do they Richie? Don't kid yourself, you're not a terrorist. You wouldn't have the balls. You're a terrorist sympathiser. One of the cowards who shouts hatred and lies from the sidelines.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Destroys Hamas Homes, Flattens Gaza Mosque by Bastage: 12:54pm On Jan 03, 2009
Israel is killing civilians and they can stop it if they want to.
That's a stupid comment.
As your Hamas terrorist friends hide behinds the local population, Israel can only avoid the risk of hitting civilians by ceasing all operations.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Destroys Hamas Homes, Flattens Gaza Mosque by Bastage: 12:46pm On Jan 03, 2009
However, killing 500 Palestinians is a massacre! Only hypocrites will consider the scale of killings when Jews are targeted but ignore the scale when Palestinians/Arabs are targeted!
I don't call that a massacre. I call it a public service.
The vast majority of those "400 Palestinians" (you added an extra hundred on) were Hamas terrorists.

Only a terrorist sympathiser would keep bleating about "the scale of Palestinian deaths".

Personally, I couldn't care less about any "civilian" deaths either. The liberal windbags are always telling us how Hamas is a "democratically elected government". If that's the case, the Palestinians voted to go to war with Israel. They voted for a party whose avowed intent and very reason for being is the destruction of Israel. Now the chickens are coming home to roost, they act like the victim when all the time, they've been the aggressor.
Sympathy? Not me. Let the Palestinians reap what they sow.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Hamas Leaders Hate Their People? by Bastage: 11:23pm On Jan 02, 2009
And why is it Israel's policy to kill the residents of Gaza?
This is probably one of the most homosexual statements I have read on this forum.

If it was Israeli policy to kill the residents of Gaza there would not be a single on of them left alive. Israel could level Gaza within an hour if it's policy was to target Palestinian civilians. They haven't. Even according to Hamas, over three quarters of the dead are their fighters. Pretty accurate targetting when you think how the Hamas cowards hide behind the civilian population.

But maybe the Israelis should have a policy of killing all Gazaans, Then at least the whining liars will have something justifiable to harp on about.

Christianity Etc › Re: Hmmm. . . . . Muslim Family Kicked Off Plane by Bastage: 10:04pm On Jan 02, 2009
"The conversation, as we were walking through the plane trying to find our seats, was just about where the safest place in an airplane is," Sahin said. "We were (discussing whether it was safest to sit near) the wing, or the engine or the back or the front, but that's it. We didn't say anything else that would raise any suspicion." The conversation did not contain the words "bomb," "explosion," "terror" or other words that might have aroused suspicion, Irfan said. "I guess it's just a situation of guilt by association," Aziz said. "They see one Muslim talking to another Muslim and they automatically assume something wrong is going on."
The conversation probably contained the words "crash", "device" or "explode". Otherwise, how did the idiots start the topic? Even if it didn't, it's a bloody stupid thing to talk about as you're walking through the plane.
It doesn't matter shit if you're African, Arab or White - do the same thing here in the UK and not only will you miss your flight but you'll probably spend the night in a cell.
No sympathy for these people whatsoever. If they're not aware of the protocols that airlines and airposts work by they should take a bus.

Malachi York published it long before NASA sent any probes is space. Now again, don't believe me, check it up for youeself.
I did check it out. Amazon says the book was published in 1996. That's well over 20 years after Nasa sent Viking to Mars.

Well, did you know that Malachi York was teaching this information about the Pyramid and face on Mars since 1967, long before NASA got their Viking probe up there?
LMAO. What a liar.

here are many authors who have written informative material on these subject.
So if you have problems hearingi this information from a black man, there are many White men 1.e. David Icke
David Icke, the ex-sports presenter who believes that the UK royal family are lizards from space? The guy is just about as much as a total whack-job as York.

Anywhere , there is water there is life. All NASA recently confirmed that there is water on Mars.
The only place we've got to compare life and water together is on Planet Earth. But water only means life on Earth. To say that it means life on Mars or anywhere else is totally delusional. Water is a basis and a requirement for life only. Water is not proof that life exists elsewhere. To say otherwise is misleading.

Guy, are you asking me to state when Jesus made the fig tree wither!!!??

That's impossible for me to do simply because I don't believe he made it wither in the first place. The fig story is simply another allegorical tale of which there are loads of examples in the NT.
Christianity Etc › Re: Christians, Please Interpret, Exposit, Explain, And/or Exegete This Passages by Bastage: 3:52pm On Dec 30, 2008
This below from The California Rare Fruit Growers Website:httphttp http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/fig.html seems to disagree with your post. Just because a fig tree doesn't have a spring crop (some do, some don't) doesn't mean it is barren and won't have a main crop in the fall, it's normal harvest time. According to this site, it doesn't sound like unripe figs are even edible at all and there is no record of palestinian peasants eating unripened figs.
A few things wrong with your statment there.

Firstly, your link is based on recent botanical knowledge. It's probable that Jesus wasn't the botanist that I jokingly pointed him out to be and was merely relating what was basic knowledge regarding fig crops. It should also be remembered that your link pertains to the "Common Fig" which although present in the Middle East was by no means the only species. Without knowing the properties of the other species (for example the Sycamore Fig) the link can't be relied on for relevance. There's even the possibility that he could have found a Caprifig - a type of fig tree that produces inedible fruit. Or maybe an unpollinated female tree. It could even be that the wasp needed to pollinate the fig trees was scarce that year - the trees rely on a specific type of insect for pollination and therefore to bear fruit. There are plenty of explanations, all with a logical foundation in fact.

Secondly, the fact remains that fig trees that don't have a spring crop are sometimes barren. It doesn't matter if they're all barren or if the majority are able to fruit. The context of the Biblical passage is that Jesus believes that that particular tree is barren and there is a scientific basis for that belief.

Thirdly, there is no record of Palestinians eating unripened figs? Taqsh are not unripened figs. They are a pre-fruit. They are also known as breba. There are times when a frost or a cold season will limit the fig tree to producing a crop of breba/taqsh only. Just like any other plant or tree can have a bad harvest, figs are prone too. On these occasions, the only fruit the Palestinians would have harvested are the taqsh and the tree would have been bare for the rest of the year. Taqsh are edible and it is unthinkable to believe that they would not have been eaten. I can find plenty of evidence on the internet that breba/taqsh are eaten around the world so I make no illogical claim.

Fig trees are in season in the fall, so we can place this event sometime not in the fall.
LOL. That's a Californian website. The figs trees they're talking about are in season in the Fall because they have a different climate. The fig trees in the Middle East would have been in season in late Spring or Early summer. Some trees even have two or three harvests that lead right on to September/October

I'm the last person to support inconsistencies within Biblical literature, and I've pointed much of it out here on these forums. But you're barking up the wrong tree here (pun intended). For once, there is a perfectly logical answer to the passage in question and it isn't inconsistent with scientific fact.
Christianity Etc › Re: Thought Provoking Question For Theists by Bastage: 3:02pm On Dec 30, 2008
Pardon me for not having provided some context to the question, but I would have thought these would be easy questions for anyone with some scientific background to address.
LOL. Now you've given it in context I understand.

But I think you're missing the picture here. This isn't a question to theists. Theists are able to use logical science and adapt it to their beliefs without contradicting what the rational would call "scientific fact" . You're addressing religious theists. They tend to be constrained by dogmatic ideals that there's no workaround for.

For example, I'm a Big Bouncer. I believe that the Big Bang is just a long line of eternal bangs and crunches. It explains the question of how something is created from nothing. Maybe taking the easy way out but at least it has a basis in rational science. grin

Why does the Theory of Plate Tectonic NOT explain diversity of life on the planet?
I'm still not getting you. In what way?

Continental drift by way of Plate Tectonic movement has resulted in diversity and in some cases, uniqueness of life. Take for example, Australia with egg laying mammals that can't be found anywhere else on Earth.

If what you're leading up to is the Pangaea theory then I'm with you on that. The continents fit together like jigsaws and I see it as undeniable proof that gives Creationism another kick up the backside.

Pathogenic bacteria are micro-organisms and they invade other organisms and cause diseases. They're not to be confused with a virus, which is not a living entity and therefore not classed as a micro-organism.
