Politics › S’west PDP Disowns TAN Ibadan Rally, Alleges Marginalisation by basty(op): 8:00am On Aug 22, 2014
By Yaqoub Popoola – Correspondent, Ado-Ekiti The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted the planned rally billed for Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, saying the organisers lack the mandate to do so. A statement issued by the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, said the planned rally did not have the blessing of the leadership of the party in the South-West geo-political zone. “Therefore, we are calling on the leaders and members of our party in Ekiti State to shun the particular rally slated by the organiser for tomorrow Saturday) August 23, 2014 in Ibadan. It is Ifeanyi Uba. He was the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Anambra during the last Anambra governorship poll. He is the CEO of Capital Oil, and coordinator of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN). “We the entire leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, hereby, declare that we are totally and unreservedly committed to the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his second term agenda because of his outstanding performance. “However, we are dissociating ourselves from the so-called proposed meeting/rally in support of President Jonathan’s second term ambition because the planned meeting/rally has not receive the “consent or blessings of leaders of the PDP in South-West,” the party said. The Ekiti PDP noted that it was opting out of the event because the planners and their collaborators only wanted to use the opportunity to achieve cheap political gain. It wondered why such an important event would be planned without due consultation of the party leaders in the zone. “Therefore, we leaders and members of our great party have resolved to collaborate with leaders of our party in the South-West to organise a befitting rally and to heavily mobilise the entire members of PDP in Ekiti State to the venue of the programme soon, which will equally attract all important leaders and members of PDP in the South-West. “This is also to pledge our support for the re-election of our dear President.” It added that the date of the rally and venue would be announced soon.

s3nn2x: I am from Abia state and I agree in totality that T.A Orji is a failure. The fact that he is from my place doesn't change the fact that he is grossly incompetent.
All the people I know from Abia state also agrees with me.
It is only a re.tard who will come here and tell me the government is trying.
The pictures ogejesus or whatever his/name is posting, are really disgusting. If what was posted by him/her is the achievement of T.A Orji, then I was wrong....he is worse than I imagined. Look at the buildings? Look at the colours? Is that not what a local government is meant to be doing? Tell me about economic activities, and not buildings and cars. I am sure Igboland is filled with massive structures that were built by individuals. It is about time we hold our leaders accountable. If other regions don't see anything wrong with their leaders and they praise their every move, I don't see why we should be celebrating mediocrity.

For goodness sake, T.A. Orji has ruled for over 7 years, and all ogejesus can post are pictures of some uncompleted projects.
I just pray, come 2015, Abians vote for a competent person and not vote based on parochial sentiments.
WE need the type of you guys as future leaders. God bless you

Some animals will be blaming the Southwest people and their governors. The pictures have not shown the true picture of Aba. Ngwa road. Okigwe road, Osisioma area are in sorry state. They accused. abused and curse Yoruba as if their cities are better than Yoruba Nation. We have all seen their Economic capital. You cannot access Ikot-Ekpene, Abak or Eket through Ngwa. You will have to pass through Umuahia as Israelites journey. Shameless people, let us hear your voices.
Anywhere you see their markets in Lagos, you see dirt, filth. In daylight you see them pooing on bridges on roads and inside markets. We are ready for you guys.

Omisore, you are not even ashamed, a murderer like you wants to rule Osun state? In saner climate, people like you should be serving life sentence for the murder of chief Bola Ige or perhaps you should have been at the gas chambers long ago!! Now you are lamenting loosing a relatively free and fair election!

seunmsg: Notwithstanding there electoral victory, I think APC should challenge the harassment and detention of [s]there[/s] members for no reason by the security forces. The trend of arresting opposition leaders a day to a major election if not challenged and stopped now may get out of hand during the 2015 general election. We are in a democracy and there should be no room for impunity.
