Under cointegration test, if the trace statistics is greater than the critical value up to three cointegrating equations at 5% significant level, can we conclude that there is a unique long-run relationship among the variables under consideration?

I think there is no how R-squared will greater than Durbin Waston.

R-squared value ranges from - 1 through 0 to (+) 1; while DW ran range from 0 to 4.

R-squared adjusted has be at least 0.5 which implies the independent variables explain 50% of factors that influence the model; while DW has to be in the neighborhood of 2 to show that the model does not suffer from serial correlation (i.e., error in past period doesn't correlate with another period)

To resolve spurious or nonsensical regression:

First, ensure that the time series or longitudinal data is stationary and the regression model was estimated at level or difference in which the data is stationary.

second, capture more independent variables
third, increase your number of observation.

With those hints above, you should be able to resolve it.

My model R-squared was 0.96 and DW 0.7 . Thanks for your recommendation as i am hopeful it will work.

Good day house. It's believed that when r squared is greater than durbin watson stat that the regression is spurious. How can one address a spurious reg result?

Congrats on your scores scholastica16. Your scores mirrors the level of hardwork you put into prepping. Lovely scores!

So I gave the GRE today. My scores weren't good enough. I had a total of 310 (Q161, V149).

My verbal score isn't suprising to me. I've always known I'm weak on the verbal. I tried my 'best' to pass the 150 threshold but I guess my best wasn't good enough.

Quant is relatively more facile to me than the verbal and it's obvious from the scores. There was still room for a better performance on the quant but I guess I threw it away; I kept worrying over my bad verbal performance.

Congrats Man! I've been anticipating your post regarding d GRE and I must let you know am not disappointed cos you've got a great score, albeit you can do better. Ur Q 161 is definitely going to get you into a gud graduate programme in Economics. Just make sure u get a good LORs and write a good SOP. You should be fine cos you've got a good GPA and GRE. Stay Cool...

To everyone here longing to know about the exam format, it's in three sections: quantitative, verbal and general questions or current affairs . Never underestimate the general questions cos it's indeed general or current ranging from football to Obama's daughter name.LOL.. Anyways, if u've a 3.5+ cgpa u should do well, but unfortunately, not all(very few) would be chosen.
