Uwaiwe:About 2 weeks. On your second question....Meaning, you are at the mercy of the agreement the employer had with you. If your employer decide to give you that amount at a later date....nothing do them. Where you given an offer letter stating the figure your employer said you will be paid? If yes....at least you go still get "small" mouth. But na the one whey dey labour be koko. My opinion. obonujoker:Yes. But 60K? That is one expensive apartment. If you intend spending that amount....do look at other places. check Bayt and Dubizzle. Topsy24:Honestly...Nope. But, take note....If you like have 9,000 USD on you for BTA sef...Nigerian immigration officers are mostly assholes. Be prepared. Have some spare Naira on you for various bribes. Maintain your ground and don't let anyone bamboozle you with words or threats. |
nickeyking:23KG. Number of bags is most likely two. Confirm with your flight ticket how many luggage you can carry. Hand lugagge is most likely 7KG. Confirm all this with your flight operator because it can actually vary. ozycy:Nope. They are more professional agents were you can get this form of service though. If you are a tourist going for short visit...you can use Emirates. Just buy a return ticket to Dubai from them(Emirate Airlines) and proceed to use their visa service. It is painless and direct. |
But wait o! Do people just think they will enter UAE(Or any country apart from their home country) with no plans and very little money and boom expect things to fall into place. That is not just an ignorant assumption but a arrogant view of life. Do people actually think that the story of people going to other countries with "nothing" actually means they basically didn't have anything when arriving(Apart from asylum seekers)? Hian. My people make we open eye oh. Information is power. No where is easy. You make your own luck. The reason many get stuck over here is just bad preparation, lack of information and lack of exposure to new information, not venturing out of the circle of people they met when they get to a new country especially when they realize that the circle of friends are not the shining star of the new country. No where in the world is made of gold on the streets....Planning is the key. Planning with a wealth of information. I saw one question about CV some replies ago...I actually laugh. Abeg what has the place you create your CV got to do with the CV. It is the content of your CV that matters and proof that you can do what is on the CV. Besides, many CVs are created in people's room and just go out to print it. And...if you can't whip out a CV by yourself at any place and time...for the love of your well being, just learn that skill right away. It is not hard...just a google search away. |
Newlifee:Accommodation is the biggest challenge. If you can afford it though.....you can budget about 180K -250K monthly depending on the emirates you are. Studio in Dubai or even One bedroom flat if you are Outside Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Though....that should be after you get a job. In the event you go this route....Try as much as possible to get a place where utilities are already included in the rent to avoid sticker shock. Every other challenge is the normal challenges faced over here by every other person and the distraction from other established people here towards you or your wife(If you know what I mean). My personal opinion.....One of you should come in first. Get a job and the other follow. If both of you should enter at the same time though...be prepared to be separated in the beginning of your journey in UAE to conserve resources. But, if you have strong backbone here.....it might be easier but then you won't be asking this question. |
mukthar2000:God fearing person? In Nigeria? ![]() My guy....just look for legitimate person that will get the job don. We Nigerians no fear God. READ the thread....you can start from part 2. Newlifee:1.8 Million naira? Hian...That is big cool money in some places in Nigeria and small in other places in Nigeria. Depending on who you are or what you do. To answer your question...Yes, it will do two work visas(Goodluck in getting direct employment or agent though especially for your wife, it is available but scarce and legitimate work agent be like needle in a haystack). Getting three months visa is a better and less riskier adventure. Note, if you and your wife come together.....you will likely not be staying together due to the "strange" accommodation and interpersonal relationship rules/morals. To be on the safe side....you can attest your marriage certificate before entering in the event of being caught in compromising position(Not sexual, just PDA can get questions sef) or both of you settle in well and decide to get accommodation for yourselves(Quite expensive depending on the job income you both settle into within the first two years). I would advise your wife stay back and you enter first and see how things are going. After you settle in....you can then decide to bring her in or not and be her own guide in the country. Though if your wife is an "Alpha" as in strong willed. She will survive fine if both of you enter without any problem and be a massive advantage for your household in regards to combined income. And for the love of your sanity....don't plan kids yet if both of you enter. Even after settling down....Caring for a kid over here can be challenging and damn right expensive than caring for a kid in Europe, USA or good ol Nigeria. |
SirWellington:lol....Better safe than sorry. The ones we should be glad for are the ones that came in to the UAE without PCC in the first place and mulling at the new expenses to incur a PCC. I have an Indian friend that lost a job offer of 4,500 because of PCC. Only to get back from India last week with his PCC...Only to hear that Indians are now on the exemption list. Chai. Poor dude is on the street looking for new job. For someone like him....he will have done anything for this news to just be one week ealier than this. |
Ijiimmayi:But MOFA is cheap and just across the road to MOE. That sucks oh....because MOFA is the oil that gets the ball rolling in interacting with any foreign government. Go to Nigerian emabassy and see how they can help you with the MOFA part. The UAE embassy part...I no know oh. You can enquire at UAE MoFA in UAE what should be done. Though...if you have plenty money and reliable person in Abuja....Just send your documents to the person to do all the waka waka and send the documents back to you...all via over-night air to minimize time. Pele. |
deyeancah:Kpakam...Some of them no even get valid Emirate IDs |
obonujoker:In my opinion...I will say you should plan after the Ramadan. Ramadan starts sometimes in May and ends sometimes in June. Demand for workers is always rather slow during that period. This is my opinion and may not relate to your field at all. ![]() |
nickeyking:Seems you didn't understand what I asked. You asked if it was possible to authenticate two WAEC results. I wanted to know if tht is at the MOE, MOFA or UAE Embassy. In all....Yes. In a nutshell. For long explanation...Visit part two of this thread. Link to part two is in the first post of this thread. fecosequence:Congratulations. |
nickeyking:Where is this authentication happening and what other documents are to be authenticated? |
Ijiimmayi:Ok. It is lies then. |
America001:Maybe....Most of the form are designed with you working in a firm. How will someone get that if not working already? Check out the site and the requirements. Perhaps in the past for DPS. Not with what is on their site. Perhaps I don't have the full information as well. Perhaps, certification could be done outside the shores of UAE in conjunction with SIRA. Maybe someone else could clear the air. That driver license pass for UAE pass war sef. It is even easier to go to the countries where the driver licenses can be transferred to UAE license and get citizenship first alongside a driver's license and still return to UAE and meet some people you left still battling to get a driver's license. |
spartacus11:Visitors can't do it. Need an Emirate ID to start the registration. And your company submitting your application on your behalf in many cases for the positions. http://sira.gov.ae/services/security If you can read Arabic....click on the download forms. |
Ajakayekoke: I just realized he just wanted to know about Visa and flight only. My bad. |
kenodrill:But you don't have a job presently nah....It is not like you want to leave one job for a promise of job in Dubai. But if you think you can land an average on three or more interviews a week in Nigeria. You can remain in Nigeria. Nothing do you. |
olajideolajide:MOFA is at Central Business District in Abuja. There is only one. Ask when you get to Abuja. Get a cab to take you to MOFA. All of them know it....After you are done with MOFA...just step outside and hail another cab to take you to UAE embassy. They all know it as well. Just incase the cab asks you if it is the one in Maitama...tell him nope. The other one. Or the one beside Churchgate. I hope that helps. |
ogundeletaofeek:1. No idea. 2. Anywhere in UAE is fine. Dubai has the most opportunities but also with the most job hunters as well. 3. Keep up with the thread. All will be fine. Best of luck. |
Kweeen:Not true whatsoever. And most importantly...you don't even have to have the entire $1000 on you. If you have it on you...Great. You can go with less and have the rest or more on your debit card. Just have more than enough to avoid overzealous idiots inside our international airport to avoid delays and stories that touch the liver and kidney. oyebowale85:. Good grief...Sorry for this. You need to start looking for another job. Once you get it. Go to Ministry of Interior to cancel. You will be asked why...And let them know you have not being paid all the while(Make sure it is the truth as of the time you stepped into their office) and still the present case as of when you went to the ministry. In a short phrase. Make sure that you are still owe as of the time you got a new job and went to Ministry of Interior.....Otherwise, na ban and MMIA you dey take play oh. or If you have confidence you will get work in a month time. You can go cancel today. Nothing do you. But wait fess oh..... Wetin you sign for your contract sef and how long have you been working? Ljay17:"Agents" in Dubai ke? lol.... Oya...go embassy in Abuja and apply for Visa na. |
manneger2:I am not yet sure on that. I actually need the 100% info for a friend as well but have not gone around to get to UAE MOFA. I will update when I get it. Or if someone with the 100% info should please kindly state it. |
KennyAsan:Yes. The person should be family member or someone that shares the same surname with the original owner(in order to claim relative). manneger2:Yes. It will be given to you there. You don't need to come to Nigeria to process anything. All employment process will be done right there. If you are not in UAE i.e you are in Nigeria and get employment offer...then you start the process in Nigeria. |
Sicilyjoe:He or she will need it. Go to part 2 of the thread. Start from page 484 thereabouts to get a feel of what has to be done. |
Sicilyjoe:Have you been under a rock for a while now? Well...Yes, that is normal. Though....The emirate of Dubai has suspended the PCC part for work/resident permit processing. Are you sure the job or you are in Dubai or another part of UAE? The rest of the emirates still require your PCC. |
fecosequence:You realise he said only pages 491 to pages 495? Do you want him to come give you a blanket while you sleep too? ![]() |
spartacus11:www.indeed.ae www.monstergulf.com www.laimoon.com www.gotogulf.com www.akhtaboot.com/en/uae You can google for more...No be one way enter market. Best of luck. |
promo4:What he meant was that, getting a freelance visa might be a good option for you. It is quite expensive. Web development skills is good. I will have to let you know the top dogs in that field in UAE are Indians and Filipinos. Don't be scared though....Oppurtunites are available. I will advice you to look at various job sites to see the demand first and the development stack you should concentrate in learning. No point learning a web development stack that either nobody needs here or many people already available to fill positions. Are you a front end developer or back end developer? Or you a full stack web developer? Access yourself and hit the jobsites. And if you are a developer already...it might be a good idea to be looking at remote jobs. With the pay you could get and getting that in Nigeria...makes lots of sense. But still stuck with Nigeria issues. But then....you won't have big overheads to pay for living in a developed city. Best of luck. |
SirWellington:Nothing wrong with Nigeria passport or first timer in traveling with one way ticket. It is all about the type of Visa you have. Do you have employment visa or tourist visa? If employment Visa...You can fly one way. If you have an emirate ID(resident Permit) already...You can fly one way as well. If you are on tourist visa....respect yourself and book return ticket. You can decide to either open your ticket when you touchdown or cancel the return and seek for refund(Refund policies apply). |
All4good:Overstay ke? Forget am. If your visa is about to exhausted...Just exit and return. Once you overstay...you either pay the fine to clear yourself or risk imprisonment and entering a blacklist. You must get a job and employment visa ready before your visa runs out to avoid fines that wreck the bank balance. |
teekay213:You know this your business things than anymore. calm down and access yourself and your business. The only question I can answer is security depending on your qualifications and knowledge. You can make all the way from 1500- ![]() Many have gone to cities outside their country without knowing anyone and have survived and yet many have also not being that lucky. It is up to you to know if you can take the risk. |
manneger2:Better as in how? Do Nigerian airports now do better customer service than the other that I didn't know of? In my opinion they all same bag of shit. just go with your accurate/genuine travel document and you will be fine by Nigerian standard. Apart from work visa...if you are already a resident of UAE(or the country you are flying to)....You can get a one way ticket. If you have a "strong international passport" i.e UK, Western European passports, USA e.t.c You can talk your way out of it at the boarding counter. In some few cases, the airlines will still vehemently refuse but will give you an option to buy the return ticket at the counter to be be fully refunded at the destination counter in case of no problems with the country's immigration. |
ogundeletaofeek:1. They still request OTB. But like it has always been...to select passengers only and passengers of a particular nationality. OTB is an airline thing...and it differs from airline to airline. Provided you are on tourist visa and bought a return ticket. You are fine and won't likely be ask about anything that concerns OTB. Just get to the airline counter early sha. To avoid stories that touch the bumbum. 2. The answer number 1 has killed this. 3. At Nigeria departure...lots of beggars and extorts on the way. Hold enough naira to dash, bribe Nigerian officials(500 naira - 1000 naira depending on whom is talking or asking). At arrival...Nothing, routine baggage search, and immigration clearance(Hold a copy of your visa and Intl. passport). Dazzol. |
ogundeletaofeek:60 days from the day of issuance. So calculate am well. |
