My brothers, sorry I hurt people's feelings with my shithole rhetoric. But in the real sense, is this country moving forward? If Nigeria is so good, why aren't we queuing to pursue degrees in UNN, UNICAL, UNILAG et al? Why are consultant doctors and health professionals of allied sciences leaving in their droves? We're still having the same old sets of cargoes want to rule us again. We are deeply divided on ethnoreligious lines. We scream that Nigeria is home, but is Nigeria truly home? Can an Ibo man fearlessly build a house in Kano without worrying about ethnoreligious fights? Yes, it's true you'll miss the culture, but there's simply more to life than just the people!
The other day in Abuja, a Lebanese man slapped a Nigerian man, and called the cops on him and the Nigerian was malhandled by the cops on the order of the Lebanese! Is that normal? A Lebanese man beat up a pregnant staff and she got a miscarriage, guess what, the police still detained the woman on the orders of a foreign national!
A sibling who had a first class in Engineering, and distinction in two masters degree all from overseas came home and looked for job but couldn't find any until God opened the way for him and he relocated. He was simply rejected at home, and you expect him to be proud of his roots tomorrow? On many occasions, 3rd class graduates who had connections were chosen over him, and we expect this country to work?
Look at our current president, is he intelligent enough to pilot the affairs of this country? 2019, people will queue up for 1k. Some people are earning 18k as salary! Is this a country? Nepotism, tribalism are all forms of racism!
My brother abeg go and enjoyed.......who be the person wey want cancel your visa.....when God don stamp already wetin.........

@vivicintia, your money will be refunded if you send a mail to them attaching your correspondent letter from the embassy. The NON REFUND policy is for applicants that got their visas approved. They will charge you for administrative fees which should not exceed $200. A friend of mine who is currently in UToronto got is $3500 back from UBC after his visa application was refused. So don't worry, you will get your money.

Sorry that your app got refused. Wish you the very best.
Vivicita. ......do as he said.......kindly attached the refusal letter from cic and write a letter to of refund

Most people are so much in a hurry and desperate that they don't read terms and condition of contracts. I don't know the course she is going for but I know there are schools in Canada offering it and won't give him/her such conditions.
1.5million just like that, the school is even asking the applicant to pay up to 700k just to defer..... so so bad
That is what we called Havard business school.....even HBS don't asked for tuition....

Frankrobbn1:
From the wisdom of my knowledge, payment of upfront tuition fees have never been a problem to an applicant visa application and also has never triggered the visa officer suspicion that an applicant is not a bona-fide student. I have seen many applicants in and out side of this window that were refused of their first application due to financial insufficiency because the consular officer doubt that they will have funds for their first year tuition and upkeep, and in their second attempt I advised them to pay their full tuition and were approved! Exactly what Jnyuwa02 said, which is absolutely correct!

As we all know that payment of tuition is not a prerequisite to Visa approval, but from findings, we noticed that it specifically helps most applicants who got their visa rejected due to financial insufficiency because it helps to show that funds are readily available and accessible to them and further prove to the visa officer that their primary intention of travelling to Canada is strictly for studies. Therefore, in this case, proof of payment of tuition is very essential!!

That being said, if an applicant institution doesn't require a tuition deposit prior the start of classes, there is no essence paying tuition because the Immigration Canada stated clearly that proof of payment of tuition is not required at the time of visa application. In such situation, if the applicant decides to complete an upfront tuition payment without being instructed by the school, he/she does that on their own risk.

I hope the information is sufficient to provide clarity!
It is clearly stated that ....tuition fee is not required at the time of visa application.....doing so is at your own risks.............. is clearly stated in study questionable form.........

Concerning tuition: Some schools request for tuition to be paid before student can apply for TRV. Other s don't care if you pay tuition or not. Some will ask you to paya non-refundable security deposit (not much) just to secure your admission and the said amount will be deducted from your tuition when you secure TRV and want to pay the main tuition fee(i.e if your tuition is £5000 and they ask you to make a security deposit of £200, it means one you get your TRV you will pay the balance of £4800 for tuition). Then the last category is the one that will ask you to pay tuition fee before applying for TRV without refund if visa app is denied(RUN FROM SUCH).
Nawa ooooo......the school no try.......everybody should alway read instructions before applying into any school...............

Just like it says "NON-REFUNDABLE" There no way you will get it back since it was clearly stated and you still went ahead to pay. There are so many schools in Canada who will refund your tuition if your visa application is denied, I don't know why you went ahead with this very school(knowing fully well that the final d vision to grant you visa lies sorely on CIC).
Chai that school no try at all....even me that I was asked to pay 500cad for part payment I have to look and browse and even ask questions through the school fiancial service...if is refundable and I got yes is refundable....500cad for my own na big money

Your input is needed about paying of tuition fee or not paying.......because me is like the people I saw last week didn't pay tuition fee but only the money requested by the school as part payment are issued visa

Linzo:
My advice is
1. Let her not pay school fee if the school didn't request for initial deposit (mostly the colleges in Canada will ask for small deposit) before getting his/her offer letter, reason is this. In my opinion, paying school fee before applying for visa triggers the VO suspicion instinct that you're not genuine student who will leave Canada and hence you need to prove beyond reasonable doubt to VO that you're a genuine student. About 90% of the Visa refusals on this forum paid part of their fees in advance but of all those who applied without initial fee payment up to 95% got visa approved. Note: in either way you must prove to VO that you're a genuine student.
Secondly, paying fee before Visa application does not add single benefit to your application but rather makes it more prone to complex scrutiny. Apart from that, in the event of been refuse Visa you may also lose huge part of your fee if requested for refund. Some schools refund 30% , 50% and others you may lose the whole money after one deferment

2. Yes, but the Canada PR holder will emphasize the that he or her is doing so in order to help the student achieved his/her dreams back home after studying in Canada.

3. Both routes have equal chances, however in recent time, precisely last 3 has shown more favour to paper route in terms of processing pace

I know some people will argue No1 but fact speaks for itself
You are correct....in No 1.....I have 2 people from this forum that didn't pay tuition fee...and was called for medical last week....... and some school only demand 500cad for seat reservation and that alone can get your visa approved.....e.g...Sisikemo paid 1000cad...

Hello Nairalanders,

I was discussing with a friend yesterday about Canada express entry and she said that its possible to enter into the pool ( express entry) while your study application is still ongoing. I beg to differ.

Is it proper or advisable to do that?

goingforward.
One of the pre conditions for study visa is to prove to the satisfaction of VO that the foreign national would leave the country after study. Officer may feel like you are jumping the wait time for PR processing and are only getting visa for entering the country earlier and won't finish your course. Having said that, you can write a compelling letter with your study visa application that you want to advance your career and would be in much better situation in terms of employability after finishing your studies.

Your existing PR app won't be impacted by any of this . Good luck .

Ok, who is your sponsor to you? How much did he commit towards your study? Did he show commitment by paying(especially if he is a third party)?
It's not just about the amount in your sponsor's account but how much he is committing out of it and him being able to show his source
My oga I hail ooooo...please that gcmsnote......I think there is a summary of the main refusal 1 ,2 and 3 in the last note....he should write or snap that place well......that place alone will give a proper view of wat to tackle

Thank you for your response bro.
But what am trying to say is that if my student visa is approved (by the grace of God) for a Masters program. When I get to Canada, hope taking freelancing job like developing mobile app for money from both Canadian and international clients cause problem for me because in my research I found out that for US F1 visa, it's is illegal to do so to the extent that even if you develop app and put it on Google Playstore or ios market and money is been sent to your US account it is considered illegal. So I just want to know if the same applies to Canada
Is not illegal......Before starting your freelance Job/ business, check with the Canada Revenue Agency to see if you need to register and find out the reporting requirements. You should also find out what provincial sales taxes may apply to your particular job / business....this is what someone I chatted with about this freelance job over in canada
