The Word Economic Forum Report is acceptable/unacceptable depending on whose Ox is gored seems to be your new digression but surely your educational system is overrated! We have said this too often for you South Africans to understand. No brain for Maths and Science and no brains for quality education! End of discussion!

A glimpse at the Executive Summary of that report, as released by the World Bank, reveals that primary education enrolls 81% of the relevant age group and graduates 69% of this figure while just over half of all children complete primary school. School drop-out rates have been rising and educational standards have apparently declined.

blackchris: it seems the ranking got worst this year. at 2010 it was the 4th grin

Newsweek‘s (16 August 2010) list of the world’s best countries put South Africa at 82nd overall, and ranks our education system 97th out of 100, which is 4th from the bottom. South Africa’s education performance is even ranked below countries like Mozambique, Bangladesh and Iran, states less wealthy or less free.

Nigeria: 1,300 Kaduna Teachers Fail Primary School Test

Kaduna — About 1300 teachers in Kaduna have failed in tests generally set for primary four pupils, Commissioner for Education Alhaji Usman Mohammed has revealed. shocked shocked shocked

He made the shocking disclosure at an education summit tagged "Education for all is responsibility of all", held at the Hassan Usman Katsina House yesterday.

"A total of 1,599 teachers selected from across the state were given primary four tests in Mathematics and Basic literacy. Only one of them scored 75 percent, 250 scored between 50 to 75 percent and 1,300 scored below 25 percent," he said.

According to him, the same examination was conducted for 1,800 primary school pupils but that larger percent of them failed woefully.

"We are not surprised about the performance of the pupils because how can they know it, when their teachers don't know it," he added.

http://news2.onlinenigeria.com/news/general/255781-tales-of-ghost-unqualified-teachers-in-nigeria-public-schools.html

Throughout 2012, across states, governors were swinging sledge hammers on teachers. They seemed to have woken- quite suddenly- from a deep slumber to realize that the major reason why thousands of students were performing woefully in final year public examinations conducted by WAEC and NECO was perhaps because even their teachers needed proper schooling.

From Bauchi, Gombe, Kogi, Ondo, Edo to mention a few the tsunami raged on. A rough collation of reported figures reveals that since 2012 leading to February this year, across some states 3,170 ghost teachers were discovered, while ,274 others forged their certificates.

[b]The record also revealed that a staggering 6,502 were unqualified. But the latest revelation of the depth of rot in the basic education sub-sector in some states was reported in Kaduna state two weeks ago. 1,300 teachers failed the same tests administered to primary four pupils
shocked shocked shocked shocked

Of the total 1,599 teachers who sat for the examination only one of them scored 75 percent, 250 scored between 50 to 75 percent and 1,300 scored below 25 percent.
These tests were just a follow-up to an earlier statement by the late Governor Patrick Yakowa November last year that no fewer than 2,000 teachers had been discovered with fake certificates and the Chairman of the Kaduna state House of Assembly on education Yunusa Mohammad who said that out of the 36,000 teachers in the state, 15,000 were not qualified.
It was not the first time teachers were failing such a test in Nigeria. In 2008, Kwara state government administered the same primary four examinations to 19,125 teachers and out of the 259 who scored zero, 10 of them possessed university degrees.

Kaduna

http://nigerianeyeonline.com/50-of-kaduna-teachers-unqualified-yakowa/

50% of Kaduna teachers unqualified – Yakowa
Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, yesterday, said about 50 percent of primary school teachers in the state were unqualified, adding that 2,000 of the teachers secured employment with forged certificates.

Yakowa spoke during the graduation and awards ceremony of the second joint National Teachers’ Institute, NTI, in Kaduna, yesterday.

He said: “The theme of the two-day summit, Enhancing Teacher Education: Quality and Professional Development, by NTI is not only timely but instructive, since it falls alongside the same aggressive effort we are currently making in Kaduna State in improving the quality of our teachers.

“Because we are convinced that the teacher is the key factor in any learning situation, we, therefore, associate ourselves with any effort to develop teacher’s quality.

He added that this was what guided the state government to evaluate primary school teachers and discovered that “nearly 50 percent” of them “lack the required qualifications to teach” even as “about 2,000 teachers had been employed with fake certificates.”

KADUNA — National Teachers’ Institute, NTI, has said that about 80 percent of all school teachers in most states in the north were not qualified for the job.

Director-General of the Institute, Dr. Aminu Sharehu, said this yesterday in Zaria, Kaduna State, at a national conference on Quality Assurance and Control in Teacher Education as a Tool for Achieving Millennium Development Goals, organised by Federal College of Education, Zaria.

However, Governor Muhktar Yero of Kaduna State, who also spoke on the occasion, said that only 50 percent of the teachers in his state were not qualified and not 80.

Sharehu said: “Over 80 percent of teachers in the North are under-qualified because there is no motivation.

NaijaPikinGidi: It's so obvious, even a blind man can see your desperation!

grin grin grin grin grin
That's why you've become a one-liner?

While you're pondering the above, add this on your list:

Out of 150 Naai-gerian doctoral theses looked at, only 11 made the grade...

Now, at which point is it NOT clear what I am talking about?

Where have I defended black people? In this thread.

Where are the ["YOU"] Naai-gerian apes? In this thread.

I wait for my answers, please. Highlighted in red, for ease of reference.

You are an id*ot and you keep exposing yourself.

CraigB: Critical reasoning about my own statements? grin grin grin I should be telling YOU that.

Now, go back to the post that started this. I stated that I defend black South Africans, when the colour of my skin came up for discussion on this forum

When I said "WE", I clearly was referring to the South Africans on this forum. When I said YOU, I clearly was referring to the Naai-gerians on this forum.

If you reject the above, please explain what this statement is in reference to:

YOU CANNOT DIVIDE US ?

May I have a clear answer explaining the above, please. According to your logic and your "critical reasoning" (Naai-gerian standards, acceptable), may I have an articulation of what the words "YOU CANNOT DIVIDE US" mean, then.

____

Once we are done with that, we can then move on to your other rubbish, which there is a lot of.

There is no rush.

I wait...

___

Oh, and then, answer the following:

We are all South African. - Are we not South African? Yes or no, please.

Black and white - we're South African. - Are we not South African? Yes or no, please.

Your attempts to divide us will fail - Will you succeed or have you succeeded? Yes or no, please.

You can't divide us - Can you divide us? Yes or no, please.
