That is what am talking about here. If everyone supports his brother, where does that leave the minority tribes? You guys are so myopic. |

@rottenNaija, I am aware that the Ibom airport was expanded and completed by Akpabio. According to him, the Science had two main issues, one is that, the location of the park was seriously under threath of erosion and the money tha ill be spent containing the erosion will by far surpass what is needed to start and complete the project. Second is the financing. The project scheduled to cost 5.7b already had 5.3b paid out upfront without commensurate work done at the sight and he challenged the contactors to come and show what they did with the monies already received. I guess this is part of why Attah wanted his son in law to ucceed him at all cost.
The deep sea project is truly a white elephant project which would gulp an estimated sum of $89b. This project will only sea the light of the day under a PPP arrangement and I know companies like capital Oil already signified interest with the last admin.
Akpabio tried according to you, government is a continum and Udom has said he would review the Science park. Let the next man contribute his quota. |

IF only you bothered to comprehend what I wrote. I am not not against investigating or probing anybody as long as due process and the rule of law is observed. The guy I quoted said it would amount to public disgrace to probe Jonathan like they are probing Badeh ad co and so I ask, "so its just to publicly disgarce them and not any form of altruistic enquiry"? 3sha4lyf: You guys amaze me. What the heck is wrong with probing someone? You can investigate anyone, which is t a thing of public disgrace or praise. What makes the difference is if they are found culpable. And probing someone isn't a political vendetta. Even God demands an explanation of how u spent ur life on Earth. Now is He also on a witch-hunting spree? KoloOyinbo: My tribe are the Celts. Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Breton etc. We support a party because we belive their policies best. We will not vote for a man we like if we disagree with his policies.
Jonathan was dislodged not because of tribalism dut because despite being (I believe) a good man he could not control the corruption of the rest of a party that had failed miserably to govern properly. Despite many disreputable characters defecting from PDP to APC the electorate fairly gave a mandate to a new government to see if they could do better. We await the results with interest.
Now what are the POLICIES of PDP? Fiscal, political, social, educational, foreign relations etc.
I would ask these also of APC. I only know of anti corruption (doing small but nevertheless better than could be expected in the face of 16 years of looting), recovery of stolen funds (better progress here despite the mamoth task but still a way to go), and a fiscal policy of control of foreign reserves which (like most fiscal policies) has a down side as well as a positive and will take time to work anyway.
The key thing ANY government NEEDS to do in Naija (APC or PDP) is to reduce the disgraceful dependence on oil revenue that was allowed to develop under the last few governments and thus make Naija less vulnerable to the effects of a global fall in oil price. This is hurting Naija more than it should because the economy was allowed to become over dependent on it! Now perhaps BOTH parties would set forth clear policies on diversification of the economy so the electorate could forget this tribal rubbish and vote for the party with the policies they feel are best!
This is NOT about religion or tribe but about policies. As an oyinbo who has been coming to Naija for 16 years and travelling the world for decades longer than that I can tell you the rest of the world could not care less about your tribes and just want you to get on with sorting out your own country! Your assertions are hypocritical when you after looking all around you, you cannot point to anything PDP did with governance for 16yrs. I will not bother educating you cos if you wanted to really be in the know, you could at least use gOogle! Be that as it may, PDP government made it possible for us who live in Nigeria to be on this forum now debating with you. They made enviable and giant strides in telecomms, agriculture, education, power, transportion youth empoerment. , oil sector reforms, Banking and education. And you were right for believing Goodluck was a good man but for his lieutenants! They took the Nigerian masses for granted, they failed to showcase the achievements of Jonathan, not until very late in the day when APC had already taken Propaganda and lies on the govt of the day to a point of no return. 10months is still too small for you to start praise worshiping the current govt especially since they have iniatiated and completed any new projects. Without been told, you can see Buhari has no plans or clues for diversification but only interested in more taxes to raise revenue to exlore oil in the Chad Basin and rebuild the NE! The2016 budget has no provisions for diversifiacation. |

otokx: As you usual when valid arguments cannot be raised they attack the personality.
We will continue to expose the truth backed by veifiable fact's.
Its a verifiable fact that the people in Opobo were allowed to vote a candidate of their choice not in PDP contrary to what people say here that the entire Rivers State is PDP. You are funny baba!! Even in the North, they have APGA supporters there. I am sure with the votes in Opobo, Amaechi can now conviniently impeach Wike through the state assembly as he Amaechi had always wanted. If also you don't think your personality should not be brought to question here, how do you want readers on this forum to properly form an opinion based on what you post. You are an unstable personality on this thread and your assertions must be viewed with extra caution. |

KoloOyinbo: A lot of stuff here on personalities. In fact almost all of supposed politics here on Nairaland seems to focus on personalities. Is this because so much politics is tribal based? Just asking!
I have never yet seen any mature debates on the policies of the parties. Do they even have any?
Cronyism and personality cult are no way to run a country. You are correct but unfortunately, Politics of tribe and cronyism would continue to dominate until there is true federalism. There is too much mutual suspicision in the polity and only a naïve person will do otherwise. |

In Nigeria, it appears leadership is more of a personality cult. You have been blowing hot and cold since the begining of this thread. Its hard to say what you yourself can be identified with. Who is the leader of PDP in Rivers? WIKE
Who is the leader of APC in Rivers? AMAECHI
The political heat is being caused by followers of APC and PDP?
The 2 leaders or and their representatives should be called to an informal round table to talk about reducing the tension.
That is what some school of thought suggest including Channels TV. Amaechi is not the governor of Rivers State and does not hold any electoral office in Rivers State, Wike is the Governor and CEO of Rvers State. PDP is in power and PDP is on ground! Why would APC who has no grassroot following in Rivers State be factored into ay important decision or policy making of the state? Is the goverment of Rivers a unity Government? Or is APC in Rivers a part of the Security outfits in Rivers? |

He is asked of monorail and he says its a no go area, he does not want to have headache. ddippset: Imagine wike setting up what he calls a panel of inquiry! Of all the comments made during the campaign his comment of 'write your will' was the most irresponsible and inciting. And some people still come to justify it. Nigeria will never stop being what it is : a zoo (credit to Nnamdi kanu). Hear him ; ' if you know you are coming to rig elections in rivers state, Write your will'. Now that was a marching order to thugs and millitants to take his law into their hands and kill anyone suspected to be an election rigger. There are over 4,000 polling stations in rivers state and Mr wike cannot be at all 4000 polling units to point out those election riggers needed to be killed. So that judgement is left at the discretion of who? The ateke toms, the farah dagogos and the solomon ndigbaras of this world. And what part of our constitution hands a death penalty on election riggers? Is their punishment even death? Buhari is a weak ruler. Obasanjo would have put wike in his place by now. Imagine a Governor telling electoral officers to write their wills and with impunity. And he's still going from one média house to another justifying that stat eme nt! I spit on this zoo Nigeria.
