PoliticsRe: 400billion Loan, Abia Is Finished! ;Stats Don't Lie by BeautifulMind2: 12:30pm On Dec 17, 2023
Pakute:
Scholes007, sorry, Abia population is not up to 3million. Latest electoral figured showed Abia with a registered voters of 1.9million and that's about 60% of the population per INEC data.
Also, the GDP metrics would amount to a false HDI since the state is largely driving by mechanised farming.
You're just empty 🧠🤯, what is the number of registered voters in Abia huh
PoliticsRe: 400billion Loan, Abia Is Finished! ;Stats Don't Lie by BeautifulMind2: 12:27pm On Dec 17, 2023
Pakute:
Otti is going to kill Abia same way he killed Diamond bank, whatever he seems to be doing right now is mere cosmetic. The handwriting is one the wall, you can't go borrowing 400billion in a poor state that generates a measly 15-16billion IGR per year, where 70% of its people are peasant farmers. Remember how Otti budgeted almost 1billion for food while public school got a paltry 25million in the supplimentary budget.

Under Alex Otti, Diamond bank recorded over 200billion non-performing loan for a new generation bank, Otti gave out loans to cronies in reckless abandon. Otti was later sacked with ALL the staffs that came with him. Alex Otti revalued he assets of the bank to cover up fos its operating losses. A year jater, the Board realized the extent of Otti's mismanagement and declared 78% decline in profits, net income declined by 77%. The bank's Chaisman, Chief Dozie sold his MTN shares inorder to reposition the bank but to no avail. Chief Dozie's family regretted how Otti ruined them, Abia might be next.
You are just born sadist, how do you sleep with so much bitterness in your heart, see how you are wasting so much energy over nothing

Break heartshuh Kpele o. This one dey brag about Anambra gas thinking SW self no get something to brag about. For your information, the quantity of crude oil in Lagos alone(400,000 pbd)is more than that of the whole SE. We are therefore not jealous of you because we've got enough natural resources to sustain us.

PoliticsRe: Imo State Is Now The 2nd Largest State Economy In Nigeria Behind Lagos by BeautifulMind2:
SoNature:
This is a baseless assumption. If this was true, then every state in Nigeria would be as rich as or close to being as rich as Lagos State so they can borrow more. States are more likely to understate and steal their IGR than inflate it. They tell us the one they want us to know.

As for measuring wealth from IGR, I don't agree with you either. The sustainability of a state without Abuja handouts depends on its IGR. What happens to IGR in most states with big IGR is that the money is looted.
Same state that claimed high IGR were bankrupt when oil price went low, they couldn't pay salary keep keep fooling yourself
PoliticsRe: Imo State Is Now The 2nd Largest State Economy In Nigeria Behind Lagos by BeautifulMind2: 7:31am On Dec 15, 2023
SoNature:
Yes, that's common sense. No state governor will inflate their IGR, instead they will reduce the actual figure, thereby giving us an idea of what their states generate.

But you see GDP, it takes a lot of time, resources and efforts to calculate it. That's why I always I doubt the GDP figures World Bank dishes out most times.
Ignorant mind, most governors inflate their IGR to deceive international and local lenders that they generate money for them to be able to borrow more from them, IGR isn't tool to measure economy in anywhere in economics, go and read the methodology used in conducting NGDP, CBN are involved

This is going to give sleepless night to some people from that other side. Many Sleepless nights loading. They click on the link and keep on re checking. But if their governor clamin they have 500 Billion as IGR they will come here and and start dancing
Haven't you noticed that in this forum only fabricated IGR by governors make front page not GDP, I have created different threads on states GDP from World bank and NBS it didn't see front page, they enjoying deceiving themselves with IGR that doesn't measure economy, imagine celebrating high IGR still borrow to pay salary huh

I didn't download and go through the PDF file.
So, could you give us an idea of the methodology used to arrive at this conclusion?

I have repeatedly maintained that the only stats I trust in Nigeria are air traffic, crime rates and IGR. Everything else is based on questionable estimates.
See your life, you trust IGR state governors are releasing grin grin but you don't trust GDP from World bank and NBS

GDP needs to be accurately captured. There are real consequences for informal economy. It affects investment drive. Maintaining informal economy will make you look less attractive to investors who don’t know much more than what they see on paper.
I know that's why I said both states should keep developing their formal economy, I'm glad both states are controlled by governors that understand the how economy works.
