PoliticsRe: Truth About What Nigerians Do Not Know About Subsidies by Bebigiby1: 10:53pm On Aug 19, 2024
This was the same thing I said before fuel subsidy was removed and many Nigerians failed to see their lies..... Fuel subsidy was a vital tool that stabilized Nigeria's productivity especially the manufacturing sector.... This evil government headed by Tinubu were only out to destroy this country..... instead of implementing reforms to weed out the massive corruption going on within the subsidy programs, NNPC and petroleum sector, they deceived Nigerians by demonising the fuel subsidy program.... You cannot remove fuel subsidy or float the naira without fixing Nigeria's refineries or providing alternative measures that will cushion the effects of its removal.... what they did was literally to destroy Nigeria's economy..... this subsidy removal policy was one of the reasons why I did not support Obi, Atiku or any politician that was against it during the last election..... Only Sowore understood the damage that removing subsidies will cause to Nigeria's economy....
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Approves NNPC’s Request To Use Dividends To Pay Subsidy - SR by Bebigiby1: 12:46pm On Aug 19, 2024
Removing subsidy without fixing Nigeria's refineries will always be a receipy for disaster.... I will maintain that subsidy is not bad especially when done to maintain economic stability within critical sectors.... the real issue was the massive corruption that plagued fuel subsidy program, lack transparency within NNPC and other players in the petroleum sector.... you can see that even after the purported fuel removal by the lying government, Nigeria's economic situation got worse.... I remember you were always on several threads champion the course for its removal.... parroting the government's propaganda how it will save money, cut cost....blah blah blah blah.... you are back again to justify the callous actions of your government even in the face of widespread crisis caused by fuel subsidy removal....

nairalanda1:
Essentially, NNPC Is finding it difficult to pay for subsides.

And therein lies the problem

Over the years , this is how it works, Government finds it difficult to maintain subsides, then it essentially does illicit things like having NNPC pay for subsides from its own money, and now shareholders money.

All in all, this would have been avoided by having subsidy totally removed since 1993. BY now, we woould have had working refineries galore....instead we pretend IMF is fighting against us, or use the problems coming from subsidy to knock the government of the day (as seen under all our civillan governments since 1999), ....instead of us accepting that we have issues with following simple economic rools.

Sell at a loss, lose a lot. We lost 4 refineries because of subsidy.

If you cannot see that, remain blind. cheesy
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Approves NNPC’s Request To Use Dividends To Pay Subsidy - SR by Bebigiby1: 12:28pm On Aug 19, 2024
Tinubu is callous same as those within his government.... it is glaring they have been feeding fat on bloated subsidy payments behind the scene while inflicting pain on Nigerians in the name of subsidy removal....this evil government must end for Nigerians to breath....

GOVERNORR:
So NNPCL is paying subsidy and we are still buying fuel for over #700?

Nigerians are being scammed majorly before their very eyes

When FG was paying for subsidy fuel was sold below #150 and then they removed subsidy and started selling for over #600. How come we are still paying over #600 for a litre and NNPCL claims they are paying for subsidy?

Thieves in high places
PoliticsRe: Fuel: Why Are Nigerians Wicked? by Bebigiby1: 12:18pm On Aug 19, 2024
If Nigeria's government was functional would there be fuel scarcity in the first place.....

CyrusVI:
You guys like to shift the blames at all times

The OP is talking about the mind of an average Nigerian

During the 2018 and 2022 World cup, there were some acts done by all Japanese at the end of each games and this acts drew public attention so much that many people started hailing them

Did the Government of Japan follow the citizens to sit in the spectator seats? Its wholly about what an average Japanese is capable of

Right here is about an average Nigerian. We are teribble and thats it

That aside, what if the Govt isnt even aware of this.

Or you think every area with a functional filling station has one or two people to give them that SM coverage, enough to get the Govt reaction

Any sensible person reading your comment knows that it is filled with hate and tribal jargons… Tinubu campaigned to solve the problems and he remains chief architect of current economic chaos in Nigeria mainly by his irresponsible actions of removing subsidies and Naira devaluation…. Nothing can change the fact that his government has failed and continues to fail because he has nothing good to offer Nigerians…. Trying to push blames to other government won’t fix the problem or whitewash the fact that Tinubu exacerbated it by his clueless policies…. Once again I will not participate in your irrelevant tribal banter….. this will be my last reply to you on this thread….

UpaIweka:
Clap for yourself you have finally cemented that you are indeed a foolish soul.

Now you know nobody as to tell you he or she is Yoruba or Hausa before you igbos judge them for their stand but you want us to believe we can not judge your stand from your hate.

Tinubu is the reason for all the problem in the country you are right, he as been the only problem with the country since 1960 it was created hardship was lacking before Tinubu came. Nigeria was Eldorado n next heaven till Tinubu arrive so yes blane it all on him n tribalism like those who voted Tinubu do not have every right to vote whoever they chose.

Only you deluded souls should be allowed to vote your choice as those you voted since 1999 before Tinubu never caused any hardship, security under them were rock solid, no devaluation nor did naira fail to the dollar under them Naira was rising like a rocket.prices of food were rushing down.

When you down wailing all of this still come n tell me you are not Igbo n tell me what part of hell you came from then.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Government Has Failed Nigerians by Bebigiby1(op): 9:42am On Aug 19, 2024
I will not participate in your tribal banter as it is irrelevant and useless to the terrible situation created by Tinubu and his insensitive government….. I deduce from your post that you’re Yoruba by tribe, if you’re Yoruba how does it solve the problem or put food on your table as everyone is affected by this bad economy…. It is a shame that all you care about is tribal politics…. your “brother” Tinubu must be president even if it means millions of Nigerians dying…. Tribalism and corruption is indeed the bane of Nigeria’s progress…. The good news is that you can’t eat tribalism neither can propaganda save this government…. by the time the consequences of Tinubu’s bad policies deals with you, I do hope you will learn to see beyond your deep rooted tribal hateful sentiments…. I hope by then you will know that bad government benefits no one….

UpaIweka:
This comment show the level of your foolishly. It show you can not discern nor does your brain function properly.

So every Nigeria need to tell me their trube before I can judge your hate, hypocrisy n foolishness foe example.

Do you mean with the exchange btw us just this morning you can not tell my own tribe ? Who do you fools think you are fooling.

When another Northerner or Igbo become the president you can introduce all the restructuring you crave till then Tinubu must enjoy all that all previous president before him enjoyed. I never saw you comment wailing back then n it's best you shut up

.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Government Has Failed Nigerians by Bebigiby1(op): 8:05am On Aug 19, 2024
I never told you my tribe but I guess your deep rooted tribalistic mindset will not let you tackle issues without sentiments… I’ve always said it that restructuring Nigeria to devolve constitutional powers and allow each region/states run its own affairs independently is the best thing to happen to Nigerians…. I’ve never supported Obi or Atiku as you may presume…. The bottom line is that restructuring will help you and me move forward….

UpaIweka:
Like I said you are to be Igbo to reason this foolishly believing only your tribesmen should be entitled to contest a federal election.

If at the stage you can not see the difference btw Tinubu n others especially as Lagos governor compare to the foolish soul who couldn't build a single school in 8 years as governor then I am not sorry, I rather you perish in your foolishness.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Government Has Failed Nigerians by Bebigiby1(op): 7:36am On Aug 19, 2024
What makes Tinubu better then other candidates….? As I said in the post that anyone defending Tinubu and his government will sound stupid and look foolish to sensible people….

UpaIweka:
If you are truly not any of the below like you stated then you have to be an Igbo. Only you Igbos believe you should have the right to the presidency while others should be barred from same right.

So who heads the interim govt you proposed ? Peter Obi I guess, the level of foolishness many of you exhibit is unbelievable to say the least. How can any reasonable human who is not an Igbo look at antecedent of Tinubu Atiku n Obi and claim Tinubu is the worse of the trio ?
Is that not madness.

How do we move on when the policies of this government is killing Nigerians every day…. People can no longer eat 3 times a day or even afford to pay their bills anymore as food, transportation, healthcare fees keeps going up….

Remman:
Every policy that will work for the people, its effect will be felt the first 3 months. But Tinubu and his experts's policies cannot revive the economy forever. I think Nigeria under some kind of obligation to implement anti people's policies as long as we're debtors to world bank and foreign powers, and it doesn't matter whoever is there as the president.

You may call it wailing…. but this is my truth about Nigeria…. I will start the week with this post….

helinues:
Too early to start wailing
PoliticsTinubu’s Government Has Failed Nigerians by Bebigiby1(op):
Before the 2023 presidential election I had made the case for the need to push for restructuring of Nigeria’s political landscape that will devolve more constitutional powers to states/regions instead of participating in another election that will produce same terrible set of selfish politicians that will continue the plundering of the nation’s resources (You can read my previous post titled My Take On Tinubu, Atiku, Obi, Sowore And 2023 Election)…. It is sad that after a year into Tinubu’s presidency my concerns are now more evident than ever…. Knowing that I was right back then only makes me weary of what is to come in the future for this country if nothing is done to stop it….

When INEC announced the rigged election results that produced the worst option from the 3 popular candidates in the last election, I had hoped that the courts would stop the destruction that was to befall Nigerians by disqualifying Tinubu, unfortunately this did not happen…. The result of the atrocious actions that characterized the 2023 presidential election is clear for all see as Nigerians bear the brunt of a hopeless economy with an insensitive corrupt government that only cares about propaganda and implementing draconian IMF/World Bank backed policies that continues to destabilize and destroy the economy….. A government of lies that derive joy in inflicting pain on its citizens with no transparency or accountability. The truth is that no amount of words can describe what many Nigerians have been through since this callous government assumed power….. Tinubu wasted no time in his destruction plan by removing all subsidies….. Today, prices of all goods and services have risen and continues to rise unabated, the rate of insecurity has gone out of control, also unemployment, everything bad is happening and increasing…. The situation seem hopeless now as it has become unbearable for many Nigerians…. The total collapse of our society is imminent as It is no longer a question of if but when…..

As hunger spreads across Nigeria so also insecurity, hopelessness and anxiety…. It is glaring that at this point there is no way you can defend the callous actions of this government and won’t look foolish because there is no miracle that will change current terrible trajectory as long as the IMF/World bank backed evil policies of removing of all subsidies and Naira devaluation (Floating) is sustained by this government…. Nigeria’s economy will never recover as a result of this, many businesses will continue to shut down and it is only going to impoverish more Nigerians down the line…. This is why I will continue to canvass for a nationwide peaceful protest that it’s ultimate goal will be to agitate for the dissolution of Tinubu’s bloated government and the establishment of a smaller caretaker interim government with a mandate of 2 years to implement the immediate reversal of several anti-people policies made by this government and also implement other urgent reforms that will overhaul our political (Restructuring) and economic structures (You can read more about this in my previous post titled “ RECAP: August Nationwide Protest, My Final Case For An Interim Government”)…. Nigerians should know that Tinubu mission is not in their interests but to placate foreign powers and institutions like IMF/World bank, get as many foreign loans as possible that him and cronies will embezzle in name of building infrastructure and providing greek palliatives…. Nigerians must rise up and fight for their survival by ending this bad government before it destroys all that is left of the country and the economy…. I will state again that Tinubu has nothing good to offer Nigerians….. Any nationwide protest that doesn’t agitate for an end to this callous government is a waste of time and effort….

(Note that I am not an Obi, Atiku or Tinubu supporter or party agent)
PoliticsRe: Sowore: EndBadGovernance Protests Successful by Bebigiby1:
I don’t think the protest was successful as none of the demands made by protesters was met…. The danger of having nationwide protests that have organizers is that the leaders of this protest can be compromised…. The real protest is the one that is spontaneous and organic with no leaders but a fearless people united in their demand to end Tinubu’s bad APC government once for all…. With the way things are going it won’t be long before the real nationwide protest starts….
PoliticsRe: Why Japa Is Not The Answer To Nigeria’s Problems by Bebigiby1(op):
I am not saying that migration is bad… I am only saying that it is wrong to push the malicious narrative to our people especially the youths that they have no other way to live a decent life than to runaway from their country…. This is not true because Nigeria is a blessed nation and only needs to have the right people in positions of authority to ensure that Nigerians enjoy the country’s wealth…. This can be achieved if we encourage our people to stay back and work towards building the country instead of running away…. These evil people in power will be forced out if our youths are encouraged to rally together and demand for an end to the carnage and injustice going on in Nigeria…. It is glaring that the “Japa” ideology is increasing crime in Nigeria as many people are desperate to engage in criminal activities to raise funds to leave the country…. It is setting a dangerous precedence that will destroy the people…..

HellVictorinho8:

PoliticsRe: Why Japa Is Not The Answer To Nigeria’s Problems by Bebigiby1(op):
Nigeria failed Nigerians not mainly because of the useless leaders but the nonchalant selfishness and extreme tribalism of the people…. The same selfish mentality that you’re displaying here in your post is why there is little or no national progress since 1999…. It is the responsibility of all Nigerians to hold politicians occupying public offices accountable if we fail as a people to uphold our rights then we have no one to blame for current dire consequences we are facing due to our nonchalance and selfish actions towards nation building…. You don’t expect leaders to be patriotic if you as a citizen is not patriotic, you run to countries where its citizens are patriotic and are always ready to hold their government accountable since you do not want to do the same or build your own country…. No country can develop without sacrifices made by its people…. You and a few other Nigerian may get the opportunity to “japa” from Nigeria but many others won’t and can’t leave…. Nigerians will continue to go round in cycles over bad leadership and failed policies until we understand that the only way we can truly thrive as a nation is when we as a people unite and let go of hateful tribalistic sentiments, selfishness and religious resentments towards each other…. The truth is that Nigerians must be ready to fight for their freedom, we must be ready to demand good governance without fear or prejudices no matter what it takes…. There is no other way as this is the only sustainable way to ensure we have a country that works and benefits everyone…. Just as someone pointed out in this thread that “Japa” is a luxury, mainly those who are rich or comfortable in Nigeria can afford to migrate easily. Japa is not and will never solve our national problems….

Grace001:
Yeye Dey smell… patriotic my a$$

If they are patriotic they won’t be stealing our common wealth and put masses in a hopeless situation

Patriotic to a country with failed government that has no plan for me and my kids. A country where dreams are being killed because it’s run by useless politicians who don’t care about the masses but themselves .

I have got just one life to live, I want to live it to the fullest with no regrets by the grace of God.

Like I always said. Those of us who can’t bear the heat of that failed country run by useless government have left that country.

I won’t fold my arms and let some useless politicians mess up this one life that I have. While these politicians are living comfortable.

E go better, e go better that’s what some people are still hoping for. They are already 40,50 years of age with nothing tangible to show for it.

Are these people lazy? No. People with great potentials but that failed country run by useless government mess up their lives.

Buhari wasted 8 years of masses life, all in the name of give him time. He is BABA GO SLOW. What did we get ? Nothing..

Come to sane country and see how you will start to unleash your hidden potentials and you'd be surprise what you’re capable of.

The truth is that governors do not control state resources, no governor in Nigeria can control inflation, no governor controls import or export duty, no governor makes monetary policy, no governor can control currency exchange rates, no governor can control the police or other security agencies. These and many more are the functions of the Federal government which is headed by Tinubu....

Nigerians are protesting for the reversal of specific economic policies made by Federal government, they are protesting against high inflation and insecurity that are part of the responsibilities of federal government and not that of a state governor.....

The reason why August nationwide protest failed was because many Nigerians in the southwest states and southeast states were not ready as they preferred to play tribal politics instead of trooping out in mass to protest against Tinunu's bad government. Nigerians don't need to be led by anyone to exercise their rights.... when Nigerians are genuinely tired of this government no one will call for protests as it will happen and we all will be on the streets.... the message is not yet clear to many Nigerians but it will be as insecurity, fuel, food and transportation fees continue to rise.....

eventainment:
I hate to break this news to anyone that thinks protest will change anything in this country. The 10day protest started and ended like a joke with no single impact. If you have seen waves of previous protest, it was chaired by notable influencial persona but here the elites that are supposed to lead their flocks to the protest are dining with their master. I mentioned this last year: protest and strike will not hold much ground during this president tenure. And also as well he plays his cards right! Like the say strike the Shepard and the sheep's will scatter. He has already struck all the Shepard's even before any action against him. I aspire to learn under him sometimes cause he gets what he wants by calculated plannings and execution. I'll advice that we should all look for a way around the problem rather than complain about it the complaints doesnt solve shit. Your elite that are influencial in your community have been bought and they are the ones that are supposed to make your demands and outcry reach the government.

You are right…. I believe natural instinct to survive once triggered will force these significant minority to unite against the injustices and bad government policies that is killing Nigerians…. The political nationwide revolution that will sweep away Tinubu, his APC government and other heartless politicians may happen before the end of this year….

budaatum:
Well, that minority will need to be a significant fearless few to stand up to the majority who perpetuate the injustice and bad governance. And I strongly believe that day is nigh, though it may be after worse days than today and after many have died of the hunger and starvation that injustice and bad governance enables and promotes.
PoliticsRe: Why Japa Is Not The Answer To Nigeria’s Problems by Bebigiby1(op):
What is the long term benefit? So you succeed to japa with your family then once you start working in the foreign country, you will still need to bear the consequences of Nigeria’s bad government and economy you ran away from by contributing on a weekly or monthly basis for your relatives or parents you left behind by sending part of the little money you make over there back to Nigeria for them…. Imagine if Nigeria’s economy was great and these bad leaders are forced out by the people…. We finally build a nation that works for everyone…. Even if you decide to migrate to another country, you will not feel any burden of fending for your relatives you left back home, they won’t be a liability as everyone will be able to earn and live decent life in Nigeria without depending on you…. The fact is that both Nigerians outside and within Nigeria will benefit if this country’s economy is good…. The first step towards solving Nigeria’s problems is ensuring that people of questionable characters do not occupy public offices and if they succeed then it is the responsibility of the people to push for their removal from office…. This is what our people should stand together against and fight to take back our country instead of running away from the country….

I do believe in this quote by Samuel Adams

“It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brush fires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Nigeria will be saved not by the majority but the patriotic fearless tireless minorities who will do whatever it takes to stand against injustice and bad governance….

budaatum:
Not every one of 200 million Nigerians want to fix their country. Many more would rather become these so called "evil politicians occupying public offices oppressing Nigerian". And to think they "are not more than 1000 people" just shows you don't understand the extent of our problem. After all, millions of us elected those 1000.

I'd say it is our 200 million Nigerians that need to be fixed for our country to be fixed. From the civil servant who collects a bribe to do their job, to the streetwalker who throws rubbish on the street, and the fool who ignorantly votes emilokan or tribe or religion instead of policies and credibility.

We create our unfixed Nigeria, and once we stop unfixing Nigeria, Nigeria will begin to be fixed. We must start by fixing the brain in our heads, and that, the search for a good education, is a reason to japa, in my opinion.
