Abroad, Nigerians are considered the most enlightened black people; the most educated black people and the most successful immigrants.

However inside Nigeria, we are living like animals because we allowed people like Buhari to rule us.
People who see nothing wrong that as presidents, they seek medical care in another man's country.

A vote against Buhari is a vote for common sense and decency.

Your suggestion is an option.

Also younger candidates should stand up and contest.

One can never tell.
Ya if a younger candidate can get the ticket of a major party (PDP or APC) I'd be glad to vote for him.

However I think Nigerians mistake youth for competence.
Orji uzor kalu and chimaroke nnamani were 38 years old when they became governors. Their perfomance turned out below average.
Yahaya Bello of Kogi was just 40 yrs in 2015, we know he stands among the worst today.
Most of Nigeria's millitary dictators were youths (Gowon, Ibb, buhari, murtala,) how come Nigeria didnt move forward under them?
OBJ and Yar'adua are so far Nigeria's best presidents. They brought development and unity into Nigeria. Both were above 50 years when they became president.
Youth means nothing. What matters is what a president achieves. Not what he promised; not how he looks in pictures; not propaganda. Simply what he achieves in office!!
Since we can never tell who would achieve a lot, i say we gv everybody both old and young a chance (until they fvck up)

I will Atikulate in 2019
Just as I Fe'buhari in 2015
Just as I might Ambode or Obiano in 2023

We are ready to wait for Atiku to complete 8yrs.
Nigeria is not ending after 8Yrs.

APC should not waste money campaigning in Igbo land.
We are not in a hurry. Proganda of Igbo presidency 2023 is dead on arival.

IGBO NDIOMA LETS ATIKULATE THIS TIME
lets vote Atiku in 2019 and vote against him in 2023 if he doesnt perform.

Nigerians listen.
We are ALL Nigerians once we leave the shores of Nigeria. Foreigners dont know Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba.
Team effort is what will make us like our neighbours who have gone ahead of us.
Ghana is now gradually becoming a developed nation because they dropped tribalism and focused on issue-based politics. Same as Rwanda, Namibia etc.

Now lets answer these questions;
1. Has Buhari improved the economy?
2. Has Buhari made Nigeria more secure?
3. Has Buhari improved unity in Nigeria?
4. Has Nigeria's global influence increased under him?
5. Has the private sector and small businesses thrived under Buhari?
6. Is government less wasteful under Buhari?
7. Are Our hospitals better now?
8. Is education better now?
9. Are our roads and national infrastructure better now?
10. Do you feel Nigeria has improved overall?

My answers to these are;
1. No
2. No
3. No
4. No
5. No
6. No, govt is still wasteful
7. No
8. No
9. No
10. No, Nigeria has declined since 2014

Vote according to issues, not tribalism. Nigeria will never divide. If we dont come together to develope, our children would still be hustling to go to Europe through Libya tomorrow; Lagos will still be over-crowded
Give mediocre presidents only one term. We did it in 2015. We can do it again in 2019. Lets not reward Buhari with 2 terms. Let Obj be the only president with 2 terms until we get another good, deserving president irrespective of tribe.

It's funny that you either attribute all these things to GEJ, or excuse his lack of delivery by trying to shift the blame on Buhari. Didn't GEJ promise in 2011 that the bridge would be ready within 4 years? Google turns up several newspaper articles indicating that, so I don't understand your spin here. And what evidence can you provide that any real work even started on the bridge by the term GEJ lost power? Again, newspaper articles indicate the "work" never went beyond a few "preliminary studies". As for the "Enugu-Abakaliki-Calabar" road you give GEJ credit for, Obasanjo actually deserves the credit here, not your hero.

The rest of the "achievements" you credit GEJ with are so minor as to be laughable. Are Igbo votes to be bought for such a low price as locating a training school in Enugu, or refurbishing UNN and UNEC? These are things even ministers shouldn't be rushing to boast about!

This only speaks to your own innate tribalism, not to anything to do with "Yorubas" as such. Buhari only got 55% of the region's votes in 2015, and there's no guarantee he will manage even that in 2019. Can you show any credible polling data to suggest most Yoruba people still support him? I'm betting you can't, and are just going off your prejudices: you can't possibly know what more than 40 million people are thinking from the safety of your living room or wherever you're writing your posts.
neither gej nor buhari performed enough to deserve a second term. If we cant agree on this, then no need going further in this discussion.

I voted against gej in 2015 and will vote against buhari in 2019. I believe that by not rewarding mediocre politicians with 2nd term, Nigeria will be on a steady path of development.

If sw votes buhari en mass for ethnic considerations in 2019, then i'd loath them the way they loath igbos for voting gej en mass on ethnic considerations in 2015

How exactly did GEJ "carry Igbos along"? By promising a Second River Niger bridge he never delivered? By allowing Stella Oduah to "upgrade" Enugu airport to "international" status without providing it facilities against flooding? Or do you mean by allowing all the federal roads in the SE to continue to deteriorate without maintenance? Perhaps you're referring to the SE ports he did nothing to improve? Can you name any concrete measures whatsoever by GEJ that benefited more than a few top Igbo politicians?

If what you really mean is "carried Igbo elites along", then come out and say so, because GEJ certainly didn't do anything for the masses in any part of the country, not even in his own hometown, let alone in the SE. That's what all this talk of "zoning" and "our son" really comes down to, small elite cliques and their hangers-on waiting for their own turn to steal oil-money, not about broad-based development that will give their masses well-paid private-sector jobs, good roads, less crime, better healthcare or improved schools.
Actually the international airport enugu by gej hasnt been opened. It is about 80% complete b4 2015. Wrked stopped there after 2015. So u should knw wat u see i the media is the refurbished local wing. The Enugu-abakaliki-calabar road was by gej. The refurbishing of enugu-ph rail line and commencement of train service.
The location of federal road safety main training school in enugu. The refurbishing of unn and unec
I voted buhari but i have come to see that even tho he is not performing, yorubas refuse to drop him cos of osinbajo. The hypocrisy is gradually making my loath the west who i once took as brothers.

You have miscalculated wrongly my friend. The divisive and "we alone" kind of politics played in the East cannot and will not make you transform PDP into a National behemoth like Tinubu did with ACN, note that even when the ACN was a tsunami in the South/West it never really controlled all the States, something Okorocha warned the East about during the last election (although the PDP is already a National party, but see how it has now become a local player because the East controlled the machinery).

The East doesn't have a politician that can bring everyone together at the moment. None of the "good" past leaders have been given their respect to allow this. Yes, the APC might be the guarantee of an Ibo presidency (I agree with you though that it is politics and anything can happen, but definitely not a Tinubu presidency) but that an Ibo controlled PDP ousting APC is definitely a long shot. As you pointed out again - maybe in that 16 year span the East would have learned to put an handshake across the Niger. Like Yoruba will say - "Enikan ki je awade", meaning "One Man can't arrive and say we have come".

I will vote an Ibo presidency in 2019, it's only fair the rest of the country rallies around this. But if the East will choose to bury her head in the sand and not present me with a candidate I can support, my vote obviously will then be a case of the desired is not available.

Let's reason this way, all of the SouthEast do not need to be for Buhari/APC come 2019 (2 or 3 states is enough) but for strategic reasons and to strengthen the hands of the SouthEast.
First of all, we are Igbo not Ibo.
Secondly its infact the sw that has played divisive politics and 'we alone politics' in Nigeria.
In 1999 when the rest of the country went with pdp, u guys went alone to AD.
In 2007 when the rest of the country went with yaradua of pdp, u guys went alone with Atiku of ACN.
In 2011 when majority of the country went with pdp and GEJ, u guys went with Ribadu of Acn

Now lets talk of the politics of 2015, the first time se and ss stood alone. Does it not make sense to u up till now that Igbos did the right thing by standing by GEJ till the end? A man who carried Igbos along? In what other way can u repay him other than voting to reelect him? Now the north gave buhari 97% of their votes but that wasnt divisive politics. It is the Igbos that gave gej 95% of their votes that plays divisive politics?

The APC has able Igbo members e.g Sullivan chime, Ken Nnamani, Rochas, orji uzor kalu and even buhari's current igbo ministers. If APC wants Igbo presidency, let them give it to one of these igbo sons. We dont need to vote them in 2019 before they can do this. The north west did not vote OBJ in 2003, still he gave them presidency in 2007.
Igbos will stand against Buhari again in 2019. If he wins, good for him.... he can do his worst after election. Igbos will still survive post Buhari

Majority of Igbos will rather go for restructuring than your stupid presidency.
A vote for Atiku is a vote for restructuring.
Beggar-in-Chief.

The joker in Nigerian politics is Middle Belt. Win Middle Belt and you will win the Presidency. The SW gave a marginal vote of 500000 to APC while Anambra alone gave PDP over 600000 votes.

When SW backed Atiku in 2007, did he win? NO! When SW backed Ribadu, did he win? NO! When the entire SW was mobilized for Buhari, how many votes did they gave him? a marginal 500000 votes.

Tinubu or no Tinubu, SW can't give APC more than 600000 votes, which Anambra alone if fully mobilized for election can guarantee to PDP.

Politicians scout SW because of their propagandist machineries not voting power. If you need to be projected, you need SW Media. Not that SW owns the media, but all media houses are concentrated there.

Atiku himself is an Institution, which a very powerful Media centre ably led by an able Igbo man, Ibe. Don't forget also the Head of Presidential Media Team, Garba Shehu is Atiku very loyal boy, former Director, Atiku Media Office, head of Atiku Media Team.

If you believe Bindow will not join PDP next year, then you are not a Nigerian.

Like it or hate it, we are Atikulating. Middle Belt are Atikulating as well, NE will Atikulate also.
me too will atikulate. But em em..... yorubas gave apc over 2 million votes in 2015 not 500k. The good thing about sw votes is that its always divided. Except when they gave over 90% to abiola

Nothing is 100 percent certain in politics, but you have to try. If Buhari is reelected, in 2023, the Igbo would have a bargaining chip that cannot be easily swept off the carpet, in that Igbo would be the only group that has not produced president in 4th Reublic.

Yoruba have produced; Niger Delta have produced; the North would have completed Yar Ardua's truncated tenure. It would then be difficult not to give it to the Igbo in 2023.

If we don't play our cards right, by 2040, we may still be talking about Igbo Presidency, without much bargaining chips.

Let Ohaneze, the Youths etc, begin to put our house in order, while voting for Buhari in 2019.

Igbos are better served by remaining in pdp and fighting Apc tooth and nail till its defeated. Even if it takes 16 years.

I am glad you have somewhat long-term plan regarding moving (vision 2020). I don't know your Qualifications however, i think you have good options (judging by this post)

You are a safety personnel, so why not join a reasonable association that tallies with your work experience (and/or qualifications). The ides is that it gives you the best course of action for a B1/B2. I do believe the Visa officer will look into your record as being employed in Qatar to make that decision. (attending meetings, training and workshops of the organizations you are a member of is seen as a form of career development. it gives more validity to your visa application)

Also, you can look into the student visa. Maybe it is time to actually advance your education. look into schools that has good ties with Qatar (and UAE in general). There should be American schools close to you that can allow you to transfer to their US schools or maybe do some form of student exchange and/or training in the US.

Even better,

you can look into gaining admissions into US schools.

Additionally, once your B1/B2 gets issued, you can decide to look into schools while you are visiting (since it is a 2020 goal), speak with admission office and the corresponsing department admission officers.

I really can't say how best you can come to the US. Personally to me, it doesn't matter as long as you have the zeal, the determination, the skills and the dream, America is always welcoming
