Let share my own testimony also:

On 21 December 2013, I was travelling to Enugu for a training as the vehicle i boarded passed Abba junction the front tyre(passenger side) pulled out while the driver was on speed. It was in deed a miracle as I couldn't believe I was inside the bus when the driver used a hip of sand to stop the vehicle. See as my legs dey shake, I couldn't talk, I just went somewhere to sit and started thinking out real loud..

Last one was on 13 august 2015 when my auntie was doing her traditional marriage, I took an excuse from work place just to show face. Everywhere was bubbling u know as e dey be nah, so I decided to relax inside the old building on plastic chair, na Nairaland I dey surf that day. I didn't know what made me to look downwards in-between my legs because I was relaxing very well on my back(you can call it semi lying down). Lo and behold, I saw something like a shinny mop-stick, as I tried to look very well, the shinny thing was moving. Brothers and sisters on NL, it was a snake, so as I raised my left leg that crawling-creepy-disgusting creature raised it's upper body and strike immediately but it ended up hitting the one of the leg of plastic chair(I never knew I was a talented jumper till that very day). No be small thing, as I'm typing this it's still giving me goose bumps. It's one hell of an experience embarassed

I just hate eyes service, pdp is not in any position to say that to pmb, they know is very good to visit the affected area, yet they failed to advice jonah to do same, why trying to score a cheap political game nows?
But APC lampooned, crucified, blasted GEJ back then that he ought to visit chibok as the C-in-C, so are you taking sides now?

Toktee:
We are know that the kidnapping is the handwork of pdp to humliate pmb who claimed to have wiped out bokoharam, and to use same as a campaign weapon against the ruling party,we know all this.
So, do we now say APC orchestrated the chibok saga to humiliate GEJ also?

Politics › Dapchi Schoolgirls: PDP Insists Buhari Must Visit Yobe To Show True Leadership by BeeBeeOoh(op): 2:59pm On Feb 27, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to show true “leadership by visiting troubled Dapchi, Yobe state.”

PDP urged Buhari to “halt the feasting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Aso Villa” and visit the area to get first hand information on the “circumstances surrounding the abduction of the 110 school girls under his watch.”

A statement titled, “Mr President Sir, Go to Dapchi” signed by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said if Buhari heeds the advise, he will “bridge the disconnect between him and Nigerians, who daily lament the aloofness of their leader.”

The statement reads, :It was disheartening that while the parents of our abducted daughters are wailing and the insurgents are fleeing deeper, the President and his APC leaders are busy feasting in the Presidential Villa and plotting their bound-to-fail 2019 re-election campaign.

“President Buhari has completely reneged on his assurances, before his election, to be a father to all and to lead the fight against insurgency from the fronts.

“Nigerians are worried that he has now allowed himself to be holed in the safety and luxury of the presidential villa while citizens are being slaughtered and taken captives by marauders and insurgents.

“Nigerians are shocked that the presidential mandate of protecting lives has now been reduced to a cosmetic dispatching of ministers and persons with no knowledge of security, including those known to be falsifying performance indices, on mere fact-finding missions, while machinery for proactive security measures are left unattended.

“Today, Nigerians are daily slaughtered and taken as captives because those who have the direct mandate to protect them are more interested in their ill-lucked 2019 re-election ambition while the citizens are left to whatever fate befell them.

“Painfully, Nigerians are yet to see any concrete action taken by the Buhari Presidency to apprehend the perpetrators of the gruesome killings in Benue, Taraba, Zamfara, Adamawa, Borno, Plateau, Nasarawa and Yobe among other states where our citizens are being hacked down by marauders and insurgents.

“They are yet to see any step so far taken, outside empty promises, to end or even reduce the carnage.

“Most appalling is the fact that while the parents of our 110 abducted Dapchi daughters are still wailing and insurgents driving into deeper recesses, the President and his partymen are busy feasting in the Presidential villa and plotting their 2019 campaigns; of course, with funds meant for the wellbeing of the people and our nation.

“Indeed, this President Buhari-led and discredited APC-controlled Federal Government holds Nigerians in total disdain.

“This administration is completely insensitive to the plight of the people and it is not a surprise that majority of Nigerians are more than prepared to reject them at the polls come 2019.

“We therefore plead with President Buhari to show leadership by immediately calling off his feasting in the Presidential Villa and take that bold step to visit Dapchi, where a soothing word from him will be a balm for the distraught community.

“We also urge him to take decisive steps to scale up action for the return of our girls in spite of the huge speculations that has filled the air.

“The President must keep his words to lead from the fronts.”

Politics › Malami Asks Tony Ojukwu To Resume As NHRC Boss Without Senate Confirmation by BeeBeeOoh(op): 7:33am On Feb 27, 2018
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has asked Tony Ojukwu to assume office as the acting Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in contravention of the civil service rules and the Act that established the commission.

Some staff of the commission who felt the action of the AGF contravened the civil service rules and the NHRC (Amendment) Act alerted THISDAY to the illegality being perpetuated by the minister who ought to be championing rule of law.

On February 13, 2016, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General of the Federation caused a letter to be delivered to Mrs. Otti Ovravah who was until then, the acting Executive Secretary of the commission, to hand over to Ojukwu.

Following the completion of the tenure of Prof. Bem Angwe as Executive Secretary, Ovravah took over as acting ES being the most senior person in the commission.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in December last year written to the Senate to request the confirmation of the appointment of Ojukwu as executive secretary of the commission.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had already read the letter to senators at plenary.
The letter partly read: “In accordance with provisions of Section 8 of the National Human Rights Commission Act 2010, I have the pleasure to present Mr. Anthony Okechuwku Ojukwu for confirmation as the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission by the Senate.”

However, the Senate had placed an embargo on the confirmation of appointments made by the president following the retention of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) despite rejection of his appointment by the lawmakers.

However, in order to circumvent the provisions of Section 8 of the NHRC Act 2010, which requires the Senate to confirm Ojukwu’s appointment, the AGF directed the Solicitor General of the Federation, Dayo Apata, to write to Mrs. Ovravah to handover to Ojukwu.
Ovravah is the most senior officer in the commission, and under the Civil Service Rules, she should have continued to act as executive secretary of the commission until the Senate confirms Ojukwu. Mr. Mohammed Ladan, who is the next most senior officer, is not a lawyer. Ojukwu is the third most senior in the commission’s hierarchy.

A source at the Ministry of Justice confided in THISDAY that Malami had at a meeting with United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Amina Mohammed, on January 11 at the ministry prevented the acting Executive Secretary of the commission, Ovravah, from speaking on behalf of the commission. Instead, he asked Ojukwu to speak for the commission when he was neither the acting ES not the substantive ES.

“They are subverting both the civil service hierarchy and the NHRC Act. These are the people who should be upholding the rule of law,” the ministry of justice source said.
Although the commission has given the impression that Ovravah went on a voluntary leave, the letter sent to her to hand over to Ojukwu belies that claim.

THISDAY saw a copy of the letter with ref. No SGF/PS/NHRC/180/T which is dated February 08, 2018.
The letter is titled: ‘Approval to Resume Duty as acting Executive Secretary of the NHRC’.
It stated: “Kindly refer to the subject matter captioned above.
“As you are aware in December 2017, President Buhari nominated Mr. Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu as the substantive Executive Secretary to the commission pending confirmation by the Senate.

“While thanking you for holding forth in the commission till now, I am directed to inform you of approval to hand over the administration of the commission to the nominee of the president since he is a serving director in the commission. This is pending his confirmation by the Senate and full reconstitution of the governing council. The directive is with effect from the date of this letter.
“Please accept the assurance of the best wishes and consideration of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.”

Contrary to the impression given by the AGF, Section 8 of the NHRC (Amendment Act) which makes the appointment of an executive secretary subject to Senate confirmation does not discriminate on whether the appointee is a director in the commission or an outsider.

For the avoidance of doubt, Section 8 provides thus: “8. Section 7 (1) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for a new section “7(1)” – “7 (1) There shall be for the commission an Executive Secretary who shall be: ‘a legal practitioner with not less than 20 years post qualification experience and requisite experience in human right issues; a person of proven integrity and be the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the commission; appointed by the president subject to confirmation by the Senate.”

The source at the ministry of justice said: “Asking Ojukwu to resume as acting executive secretary because he is a director at the commission amounts to reading into the law, what is not there.”

appointment was made through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and not through the AGF’s office.

Politics › 2019: We Must Unite For Challenges Ahead - PMB Tells APC Members.. by BeeBeeOoh(op): 6:51am On Feb 27, 2018
...Oyegun: Tough times await us

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite strongly in order to face successfully the challenges ahead, especially the 2019 general election. The President stated this yesterday when he met with the National Caucus of the APC at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Buhari, who told members of the caucus that he was not unaware of criticisms from Nigerians about the slow style and pace of his government in delivering the dividend of democracy, said what was paramount was the unity of party in facing bigger challenges ahead.

Buhari explained that the appointment of the Bola Ahmed Tinibu reconciliation committee was targeted at achieving the desired peace and harmony that would guarantee the needed success of the APC in the future.

He said: “I now turn to the party differences in various states. To this end, I have appointed a committee, headed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a leader of the Party, to reconcile differences in various states.

“We hope the committee will be given maximum support and cooperation to enable it to satisfactorily carry out its work and get the party united in purpose and in shape for the battles ahead.

“I am very much aware of opinions and criticisms about the pace of government. In particular, the delay in appointments to boards of parastatals. Many boards have not been inaugurated so far.”

The President explained that now that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has come out with the timetable for elections in 2019, the party should prepare itself for congresses at Wards, Local Governments, states and the Centre.

The President explained that now that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has come out with the timetable for elections in 2019, the party should prepare itself for congresses at Wards, Local Governments, states and the Centre.

“We should strictly follow the constitution of the party in undertaking these party elections. We should ensure internal democracy and avoid short cuts and illegal maneuvers which have characterized the opposition party with the consequences that they are now divided.

“The APC has a history of conducting free and fair primaries whenever consensus about any candidacy is not reached. Regardless of the outcomes of the primary processes, it is imperative that we all work together to ensure the victory of our party,” the President added. In his remarks, the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun, said that there were tough times ahead of the party which its members must brace up to meet.

Oyegun explained that he was therefore in support of the reconciliation committee set up by President Buhari that would ensure a more coordinated and united approach to achieving better results.

“I therefore fully support the Asiwaju Peace Committee constituted by the President to reconcile all aggrieved groups within the party, and I encourage all of us to support the committee. The success of this committee will provide great impetus to the realization of victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.”

Notable among personalities present at the meeting were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; , state governors, members of National Working Committee, members of the National Assembly, members of National Executive Council, former governors and ministers among others. Senate President Bukola Saraki was conspicuously absent at the meeting.

Politics › Dapchi Attack: Confusion As Police Blast Military Over Security Handover Claim by BeeBeeOoh(op):
The Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Military are on a collision course over the Dapchi attack that saw the kidnap of 110 girls.

Recall that the military on Monday stated that it handed over to the police for protection of the area before the incident occurred.

But in a reaction made available to DAILY POST Monday night, the Police declared that the military did not formally hand over the security of Dapchi town to them

In the statement signed by Sumonu Abdumaliki, Commissioner of Police in Yobe State, the force advised Nigerians to shun the claim of the military.

It reads: “The attention of the Yobe State Police Command has been drawn to Press Statement from Headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole subscribing that “Dapchi has been relatively calm and peaceful and the security of Dapchi town was formally handed over to the Nigeria Police Division located in the town.

“The statement by the Military of formal handing over of Dapchi town to the Nigeria Police Division in Dapchi is not correct and untrue, as there was no time that the military informed the Police of their withdrawal, consult or handed over their locations in Dapchi town to the Police.

“The whole of Yobe State is still under Security Emergency, which the Police, the Military and other security agencies are battling to ensure lasting peace.

“Members of the public in Yobe State are implored to disregard and discountenance this claim that the Military formally handed the security of Dapchi town to the Nigeria Police as untrue, unfounded and misleading.

“The Yobe State Police Command will continue to cooperate with other security agencies in ensuring safety and protection of lives and property of people of Yobe State.”

Politics › "President Buhari, VP Osinbajo Care Less About Re-election" - Ismaeel Ahmed by BeeBeeOoh(op): 3:41pm On Feb 25, 2018
The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, care less about reelection.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Investment Programmes, Ismaeel Ahmed, said this at the weekend while briefing State House reporters on the achievements of the SIP.

Ahmed; who addressed journalists alongside the Special Adviser to the President on SIP, Mrs Maryam Uwais; emphasized that Buhari and Osinbajo were committed to serving Nigerians and concerned more about them.

The presidential aide, however, stated that if the president and the vice president had to campaign for a reelection, they had a lot of success stories to tell.

This is even as Uwais disclosed that 80 million Nigerians were poor based on the estimate from the World Poverty Clock.
Asked what the administration would leverage on as one of the biggest successes of the SIP for 2019 election campaigns, Ahmed responded, "I think even though this is a political promise, it came from a manifesto of a political party.

“The implementation is far from being just political, the implementation is for all Nigerians. When we set out and were campaigning in 2015, we didn’t say what we're going to do is going to be solely for political reasons.

"The president and vice president are more committed to the electorate rather than elections and are concerned about the future rather than just next one year.

“So, this is entirely about the country itself and not just for political reasons. But, if you're talking about what we can leverage on, there are a lot of successes in SIP.

“We're engaging 73,000 cooks that are growing rural economy. They're buying from local farmers. Therefore, this is growing the rural economy.

“They're feeding some 7 point something million children and we've reduced the number of out-of-school children in the last one or two years we've been implementing the school feeding programme and engaging 200,000 young unemployed graduates that are receiving N30,000 a month.

"Those are successes in it. So, if we're looking for things to leverage on, stomp our chests and storm the political campaigns and say we should be voted again, we have a lot of success stories to tell, but that is not the entirety and essence of this programme.

The essence of this programme is to reduce poverty and to distribute wealth as much as we can. The president and the vice president care less about the elections, like I said they care more about the citizens."

Politics › 2019: Same Situation That Played Out In 2014 Repeating Itself - Oby Ezekwesili by BeeBeeOoh(op): 12:31pm On Feb 25, 2018
Former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, has said that she no longer has faith in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Making reference to the massacre of residents in Benue State during the New Year, and the ‘lackadaisical’ attitude of the Federal Government, Ezekwesili explained that the same situation that played out during the attack on Chibok in 2014 in which the then government seemed to be more interested in campaigning for its re-election than in the incident, appeared to be replaying itself.

She made this position known during an interview with Channels Television’s Hard Copy anchored by Maupe Ogun and monitored by DAILY POST.

Ezekwesili said: “Nobody was paying attention, more or less. Everything was about winning the election in 2015, so here we are in 2018, 2019 is election year – the same pattern is repeated. So I simply said I’ve had enough of this”.

She stressed that it was high time Nigerians went beyond merely wishing for good governance.

Speaking further, Ezekwesili who described herself as an “impatient optimist” while the government, on the contrary, accused her of being confrontational, stated that the government had “looked for her trouble” with such comments.

She defended the cause for which her movement, the BBOG was fighting, saying that the present government, even prior to its coming into power, had promised to rescue the girls, only to come into power and become ‘relaxed’ about it.

She noted that even if the government had been making efforts, its manner of approach, especially towards the parents of the missing girls, was “appalling”.

“Going Adversarial on us was not welcome at all,” she stressed.

“It is time for us to have better governance in the society. It is time to stop failing.

“Nigeria needs to claim the 21st century and for us to do that, the quality of our leadership would matter.

“I haven’t been excited at the fact that we keep losing opportunities that we have, to catch up with the rest of our contemporaries in the world as a nation.

“APC and PDP are the dominant players in our political space. We don’t have a political party crisis, we have a political class crisis and so I said as a citizen I’m putting out my red card and when I put it out, other citizens said they had red cards to put out too”.
