NIN is the foundational ID in Nigeria and its going/already to be a base for all other ID.. To access the service of any other ID, you will need NIN, take for example international passport.. If you go for your international passport, nin will be required cos the data of nin will just be lifted to do your passport and same for all other IDs and to change anything on your ID, you will av to visit nimc first for correction and only then can any other correction be done anywhere else.. Trust by next year or the next you won't even be able to leave the country without NIN as world Bank, EU, interpol are deeply invested in NIN..

It's going to be a gradual and fast thing cos very soon you won't even be able to enrol in a school, visit govt hospital for a start, access govt services without it

My friend pls try and register as soon as possible cos without registration bank won't be able to confirm your identity on the nimc database cos as it stands now, your nin is passive not active, also you won't be able to have an international passport, driver's license and others social services..

Yes the NIN is already yours.. It is still the same number that will be activated when you eventually visit any nimc office..link your phones numbers to the generated NIN.. I will however ask you to try and register as soon as possible cos this is Nigeria and they can crazily come up with any stupid excuse tomorrow..

My friend you need to understand that harmonization of citizen data started around 2016 and its chaired by the vice president

If you dailed *346# and it returned a nin for you despite the fact that you have not enrolled at any nimc office, it means the harmonization execrise has gotten to your own BVN number and thus a nin is already generated for you(mind you this nin is not yet active on the nimc database until you go for the registration for synchronization of your biometrics)
For the sake of this phone number linking, you can use the NIN number generated with code while you make effort to register at nimc office to properly activate the NIN number..

Our Network providers keep recycling lines whichh is not advisabl. For instance, who remember the case of Delta State businesman arrested by DSS for using sim that once belong president's daughter.

My challenge with our Nigerian system of government is that, both network providers and government won't make us of it.

If you get a NIN using the short code then it means ur BVN data have been used to generate nin for you.. However you will still need to visit nimc office to activate the NIN for usage, the NIN u got from the short code is not yet active, synchronization of data and biometrics is still needed to activate it
