Etteh returns to House after resignation

Twenty four hours after quitting office as the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs Patricia Olubunmi Etteh threw away the shame of forced resignation by quietly walking into the hallowed chamber to join her colleagues in the business of the House.

Etteh who came at about 1.50pm well ahead of most members wore a subdued mien and went straight to the floor and sat in the front row where she exchanged pleasantries with few of her supporters.
When the Speaker ex-tempore, Hon Terngu Tsegba entered the chamber 40 minutes later, she stood up like other members in deference to the office she was forced to vacate the previous day.

Although, she was not visibly hostile to her colleagues, she shunned Hon Habeeb Fashinro, a member of the Idoko panel whose report nailed the former speaker.
She participated in the closed door session and the committee of the whole that considered the Idoko report.

After the sitting, she walked briskly and nodded in to greetings from some members and staff that waved to her.
Some of her personal staff including the Chief of Staff, Hon Lanre Laoshe, were sighted in the speaker’s office, hours after Mrs Etteh had left the House.

Tu Face: Police hold 25 suspects
Twenty five persons have been arrested in Lagos in connection with the attempt on the life of a popular hip-hop star, Tu Face Idibia, last Thursday night on his arrival from London, where he went to receive the best African Art Mobo Award.
that those arrested are being interrogated at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, to ensure that innocent persons are not punished.
This is even as Tu Face is still said to be in a critical condition
