Most major #Nigerian newspapers on Monday, July 12, put out the same frontpage headline in protest against proposed controversial press and media Bills from the Federal Government of Nigeria meant to allegedly infringe on press rights and freedom.



Papers like The Sun, Punch, Vanguard, The Guardian, Tribune splashed out the same ''Information Blackout' headline.

The coordinated move was sponsored by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Guild of Editors (NGE) and Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN).



According to the three unions, the ‘protest’ will run for two days.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, has said the institution will not deny, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the murder of Super TV boss, Usifo Ataga.



Speaking at a press conference today June 30, on the plans lined up for the 51st Convocation Ceremony of the institution, Ogundipe said irrespective of the travails Chidinma is going through, there are records to show that she is a recognized student of the institution.



“From our records which are available to us, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu is a student of the University of Lagos who was born on December 12, 1999.

Heavyweight Boxing champion, Anthony Joshua has made his prediction for Tyson Fury's third clash with Deontay Wilder coming up next month.


Anthony Joshua was closing in on an undisputed showdown with Fury last month, only for Wilder to win an arbitration case and force Fury to fight him for the third time.

Recall that on Wednesday, the court of appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo state, dismissed an appeal filed by Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging Akeredolu’s victory in the October 2020 governorship election.

Tinubu, in a congratulatory message on Thursday, expressed that the judgement delivered by the court of appeal affirms that the rule of law is meant to protect the will of the people in a free and fair electioneering process.

He also urged the governor to continue to work with other candidates for the development of state.
