A woman will forever remain the devil and manipulative masterminder in all instances. undecided

If it was a man caught looking sad and angry on his wedding day, y'all will drop hot takes of how he's being trapped, and he's getting into a communion with a devil's spawn, or whatever. You'll find a way to heap the blames on the Daughter of Eve and yada yada yada he's getting married to.

Now, a woman is caught sad on her wedding day and everyone is still holding her responsible again. She doesn't have sense; she's desperate; she opened her legs; she'll be a frustrated cheat and nag...nice one. No one is talking about a potential Lucifer-in-Charge that she'll be getting married to o.

SmartyPants:
a. Insecurity. This is a tough one and he isn't telling us how he will do it so we can't be sure he really has a plan.
There was no (record of a) bank robbery in Anambra State for close to seven years (most of it during Obi's tenure) and this is corroborated by both the State Commissioner of Police and the IGP as at then—with the exception of two cases that were unsuccessful.

Evans, the kidnapper, also confessed to being chased out of Anambra State by Obi's government before he came to Lagos and was caught.

Do you think it wise for him to release security details and how exactly he hope to fish and shake out bandits, just so he can convince you as a ... what sef?

https://swiftreporters.com/oshiomhole-goofed-anambra-state-was-the-safest-state-under-peter-obi/

The above is not convincing enough to you that he can really deal with insecurity?

Abeg, Google some of these things. I am just telling you ni, but the facts are definitely out there. It can get tiring have to go copy and pasting links, that you may not even go through unless you researched it with your own hand.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi's Response When Asked How To Make Nigeria Productive (Video) by begoniaa:
SmartyPants:
Cheers, thats a good start but ultimately nowhere near the final answer.

When we deal with insecurity, we'll merely return to our normal pre-insurgency agricultural output. That is enough to feed the nation but that wont make us net producers.

How do wr get to the point where we begin to become major producers in agriculture?

It must be done by value addition not mere farming.

That will happen when we can turn a basket of tomatoes into a carton of tinned tomatoes.

So again, what is the plan for this?
I'll thank you at least, that you're not just one looking to argue meaninglessly.

Now concerning the bolded, I'll cite the examples of Umza Rice Mill and Innoson Motors. These are local companies that Obi have supported, and patronised.

When he deals with insecurity, so products are available, he'll invest in manufacturing industries that are specialised in turning raw materials into different by-products.

If Obi can support Innoson, he'll support many more struggling local businesses that are into the kind of conversions you cited, here in Nigeria.

Note; he's done it.

With his own PERSONAL money, he supported Umza Rice Mill and it is one of the biggest contributor to the Nigerian economy today. He definitely will do more with PUBLIC money in supporting other of such industries. After our consumption, the remaining of these excesses will be exported, and he obviously has knowledge in that too.

There are numerous small scale businesses Obi supported in Anambra, all from the private sector, that contributed to the State's economy.

SABMiller is another example. It was one of the biggest breweries in the world before its going defunct, and Obi attracted them in building their greenfield site in the State, and in the country.

I know you may point out that is it a foreign company, local to another country, but that doesn't mean Nigerians here would not be gainfully employed in construction and management of the businesses, and will be a contributory agent to the overall worldwide exports of the brand.

Obi also built many diplomatic relations the Gates, UN, UNICEF, World Bank and so many more international affiliations, for the very first time.

These relationships, when leveraged and replicated on the national level, can aid Nigeria in becoming a major producer and exporter of (agricultural) products. Innoson and Aba-made products can become world brands under him. He'll market them, patronise them, make use of them in strategic governmental places and in the country, and export them.

Oh, yeah. And sure, we were exporting some things before the pre-insurgency periods, but we've always been battling with corruption and high cost of governance, hence a low export rates.

Obi saved money, cut the cost of governance and invested in projects in Anambra; if he replicates that in Nigeria, our production and export rates become bigger and higher than ever before, and with his track record of attracting investors and useful diplomatic partnerships (not the optics and on-paper style our leaders are fond of doing), Nigeria becomes a dominant force in meeting the world's markets and needs.

Everything I write/say aren't 100% projections and predictions. It's something he has done and excelled in, and Anambra is proof of it:

SmartyPants:
The earlier thread was quite unfair and misleading.

However, the question remains unanswered. It was, "how do you intend to take Nigeria from consumption to production?"
From this interview, one way: by boosting and encouraging food production.

Insecurity and banditry have sent farmers away from the farms, and so we are left dealing with the attending problems of that. Weak local markets, propped by importation, high cost of food, etc.

When he deals with banditry and insecurity, more farmers are able to return to their farms and they'll produce more goods, both for our consumption and exportation.

Obi imports from Europe, doesn't mean he exported the same goods from Europe. It is the manufacturers of those goods who did the Exporting while Obi did the importing of the same goods. Obi cannot export goods from Europe because he doesn't have a manufacturing company in Europe from which to do such. Stop yarning crap. It is getting really irritating
No, you're the dumb one here for failing to grasp a simple explanation. grin

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi's Response When Asked How To Make Nigeria Productive (Video) by begoniaa: 10:53am On Oct 28, 2022
Kaysalas:
This seem a bit plausible as you are making a bit of sense. But considered objectively, you will agree with me that the moving from consumption to production mantra is immediately rendered foolish if his only defense is that he only imports 25% of his wares, thereby locally sourcing the remaining 75%. You can't be locally sourcing 75% of your wares and be shouting from consumption to production. I hope you will see this without being blinded by sentiments. Cheers
Two facts can coexist together, otele. undecided

He can source for 75% of his own locally-produced goods in a country that imports most of its goods.

(90% of crimes are committed by men ≠ 90% of men are criminals).

Apply the same logic here.
