Anyway, nobody goes to stay permanently in abroad if you want to be rich. Except say you want to enjoy efficient law and order, then you can live there.

The trick is, make money there and come to Africa to flex it.

Lol@ d trick.. the abroad will trick u.. U think it's easy to save money and then come and flex. Like the post said many people want to come back but are currently empty handed after years. Like I tell people the problems in Nigeria are a lot financial, physical but the problems abroad are psychological - u look good outside but u could be broken, unhappy, tired within.

@bigpicture001, nah true she talk.. cooking everytime is stressful enough.. having to add something that fumes makes it more stressful. 15k every 1.5month will not kill u.. if a must, take that money from something else - maybe ur own person comfort or car fuelling or even data

Why not start with Nigerian used 2009/2010 corolla or camry? Perfect for ur price range. Corolla for fuel economy or camry for more roominess

Something else to observe is that comparing 2018 budget figures to 2026 budget figures shows an actual increase in $ terms for the federal govt and some states like Lagos. Whereas compared to 2018, our $ revenue as a country has reduced! This shows a whole lot of fiscal irresponsibility on the part of the current administration !!! Cos what this means is we are going to be having more $ debt levels than in the buhari era!!

Half in real estate(doesn't have to be in lagos but very serious diligence and trusted real estate professionals should be involved)
A quarter in TBs rolling over every time.
A quarter in dangote refinery, bua or mtn or airtel

Good to know that you finally made the decision to go the route of compounding approach to investment through TB, MMF and others.

I am currently in a similar situation like yours having half of what you had then (75m) with me right now. Having some thought of what to do with it.

Thinking of

1. Quitting my 8 to 5 job and starting a business. (Risk of starting a new business)
2. Starting a side business while still continuing my 8 to 5 job. (Risk of putting someone fully in charge of your business)
3. Investing in some promising start up and becoming part owner of the business. (Difficulty in seeing one and the guarantee of success)
4. Going the investment and compounding (MMF, TB) route while continuing my 8 to 5 job. (Very low ROI)

So I believe you must have started the investment already, how is it going?
What would you advise me in my situation, would you advise I go with option no. 4.

Guys which option do you think is the best for me in my situation.

Please note that the source of the money (75m) was just once, so don't tell me to continue with what gave me the money. My 8 to 5 job is also very reasonable and can comfortably solve my personal needs without any worries.

I think this is where business mgt knowledge is needed- specifically Cost accounting in this case..
So if u know that d Keke is scrap after 2yrs, then u must divide the Keke cost by 24months to get monthly depreciation expense.. and then with the avg monthly maintenance expense,.monthly fuel, levies and all other expenses must be totalled and compared against the monthly income to see if it is profitable or not..
Also, if from above, it is profitable, u have to set aside an amt equal to the monthly depreciation in an account u won't touch so that at the end of 2yrs after the Keke has become scrap(according to u) u can buy another Keke. @obaxxx, @sonnobax15, @maasoap, @ajalawole

I live on the Arapaja axis of Ibadan, Oluyole Local Government, and the power supply here is far worse than anyone should reasonably endure. Over 60% of residents in this neighbourhood now rely on solar or inverter systems. In my own case, I had to upgrade my inverter capacity in November just to power more appliances and get longer hours of electricity.

I visited the Agbowo area today, where residents lamented that electricity used to be very reliable, something I can personally attest to. However, since around June this year, supply has deteriorated to the point of embarrassment. While electricity appears stable in a few selected areas in Ibadan, one must ask: why should access to power be selective? I have not even consumed up to fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000) worth of electricity in my fully equipped three-bedroom apartment in the entire year 2025, an indication of just how terrible the power supply has been.

If a state represented by the current Minister of Power can suffer this level of neglect, especially a state he aspires to govern, then it would be deeply misguided for the people of Oyo State to entrust such leadership with the governorship. Although I may have a soft spot for the APC, it is certainly not unconditional. God forbid that Adelabu becomes our governor.

What sort of useless business model is that? A model based on deceit, playing on the customer's intelligence?.. do they think such a model can stand the test of time?

To be sure, mutual funds (comprising of guaranteed income- TBs and bonds ) basically just compensate u for inflation.. cos their rates are usually just about2-3% above inflation rate..
House, lands apart from rent & capital appreciation also help to guard against inflation
