So for more reality, the business is crude production... it has declined cos of lack of new investment by the oil coys(old wells are dying out), insecurity and policy inconsistency... we used to produce 2.1mbpd b4 buhari came in... he left it at 1.1mbpd.. another reason for revenue decline is oil price from over $100 in 2014 to aboutt $75 now.(beyond our control)

Question: U re the eldest brother in a house of several children.. u have been away for a while and your immediate brother has been in charge of the family and business which brings in money.... U came back home to discover the business is not making half of the money it was making b4 and infact ur brother has borrowed heavily so that the family can maintain 60% of the previous lifestyle... he has borrowed so much that almost all the little revenue coming in is going to paying debt and so he keeps borrowing..

What do u do when u come back to take over?
Do u stop borrowing, ensure all revenue goes to paying debt and STARVE the family to death?
OR IMPROVE the business REVENUE, renegotiate debt payment terms and make sure that basic things are still provided the family while other kobo of income goes to paying debt...

The important thing to note is landing cost of imported fuel is high like N1,100.. Dangote selling price is about N150 cheaper and of higher quality. .
NNPC likely for corrupt reasons still want to keep importing fuel

simple arithmetic shows that can't possibly be... the only savings in total cost for petrol refined locally is logistics costs of crude out and petrol into d country... that is prolly just some 10,12% savings on imported petrol landing cost

NNPC claims they are owing over $6 billion due in part to subsidy payments. Yet you want them to continue to pay subsidy so petrol price can be low.

If the country can no longer afford to pay subsidy, we need to face the reality that with the exception of the Arab nations, petrol is an expensive product in almost every country in the world.

In Niger Republic, Ghana and many other neighbouring countries, petrol sells for around N1300.

It is unrealistic to think petrol cam continue to sell for N600 here.

If we have to pay between N850 - N900 for Mr Dangote's petrol, we just have to manage it.

FX price is determined by demand and supply at a particular time.. the way to drive it down is increase d dollar supply by creating more avenues for fx to be gained such as increasing crude exports and other exports

Well... u should remember your secondary school economics that says the lower the supply or higher d demand, the higher the price! It's human behavior..
This is what makes crude oil price fluctuates -- change in demand & supply...
For this yam situation, apart from insecurity expense, the supply has greatly reduced cos of lower number of farmers going to the farm cos of fulani bandits.. a reasonable govt solution to the problem should be to decisively deal with the banditry.. very straightforward a thing. When there is adequate supply, there won't be opportunity for any seller to increase price abnormally.
