I always hear the word 'enabling environment', but the thing is, 'enabling environment' needs far more money than exists in the budget right now...especially when it comes to things like electricity, railways, a good road network, a good gas pipeline network and security.

Meanwhile they miss the real problem

Your economy since indepndence has been based on exporting raw materials which are processed and then imported as finished products which are more expensive then the raw materials ye sold. Ye also do not control the prices of the raw materials. As a result, the value of your naira is falling because we don't have enough forex to buffer it.

A country where people are more interested in free electricity and free fuel is never going to have enough money to make sure those things are made in nigeria, and by extension is not going to have much of an industrial sector. Our roads are bad because anytime tolling them is suggested, people cry corruption and so forth.

And the funny thing is that people really do not want to fight corruptuon. For example , I think that GEJ, Tinubu, Obi and buhari should all be investigated for corruption

(Watch as their supporters pile in on me).

A country where most people do not pay tax or tarrif in full for service, and at the same time insists on importing everything (most people dream of opening shops full of imported stuff for sale, not of making things)....is a country that is going to have a weak economy and a awful society with no jobs and the resulting problem of insecurity. Hello, Nigeria.

But the children here don't get it. All they prefer to do is to throw mud at passing cars and passers by. And laugh as if they have done something. While they feed their sacred cows with imported cow feed.

I'm Just trying to know the money it has added on top, yes we all know it has lost lots of value already due to Naira devaluation and so many things. Just what percentage interest has it gained averagely yearly.

You have money in an Investment that's locked for a longtime and will only be accessible in unique, long-term situations (Pension-like).
As at mid 2018 the money in it is about ₦2.9... million, almost 3M, and by mid 2025 the money in it is around ₦6.9... more or less 7M.

How much Percent has it added averagely every year since 2018?

Good day my fellow Nairalanders. Of late,my fiancee and I broke up and I've been considering about going into a new relationship. I must really say all the time I was with my ex,I was so commitment to her to the extent that I didn't even have time for any other woman. She knew that and Peru that must be one of my weaknesses she saw.

But the truth is that it's been over a month we ended the relationship and I really long to go into another's relationship as an escape route for me to stop thinking about my ex.

I just do not wait anything.

If God is good and he exists, I suposse he won't punish me. I am a person who tries to be happy and I do not harm anybody, so I have no fear.

Not believing is harder than believing, but I do not find evidence enough to think sacred writtings and afterlife are correct. Starting with the fact that religion depends on the country I have born and the historical moment, so only one religion is correct or no religion is? Will I go to the Heaven only if I have born in the correct place/historical time?

It makes senses.

But I believe that sacred scriptures were made by humans and not by God inspiration. I think he is over our knowledge and we will met him after dead if there is an afterlife (I cannot be sure).

So, religion is culture.

There should be an explanation about why we are here. This explanation can be named God and I don't refuse life is a gift.

However, It doesn't mean that God is like a father and there is an afterlife. Perhaps we are just a part of the universe.

Thinking about afterlife is just our desire, but there is no empirical demostration.

God exist, God is the limit of our knowledge. Greeks thinked storms were caused by Thor, jews thinked Earth is thousands years old and every day science develop, the description of God is losing field. However, we will never know if there is something after dead and it will be imposible to demostrate the beggining of everything and the explanation.

I would like to believe there is something else, but I cannot. However I have catholic influence and it is important.

This explains why North America is full of white people and why in south America there are indians. British destroyed everything and spaniards tried to convert indians to catholicism and the gave them rights by law (obviously if there are conquist, there are abuse).

We had a host of other security problems back then. Even kidnapping, the first time I heard about kidnapping was in the late 1980s.

And back then people were saying the same thing about police back then.

And even the fact that it has gotten worse means that the government should among other things fund the police better.

Catholic education and culture, but I don't believe in god.

My life now is about working hard to pay my house and to stay relaxed in future, but enjoying little things that make us happy.

I am not thinking a lot because I am focus in these objetives, but I want a future when I can be relaxed and focus in my family/hobbies. For getting this I have to do an effort now.

Personally I need to be close the people I love and I think it is the most important thing. I could be far from my house earning more money but I don't want.

After dead, I don't know what will happen. So we need to enjoy the moment.

The tinubu guys used to do it for the south east tragedy, the obideints do it for SW tragedies.

Plus , there is a funny assumption that if we remove tinubu, all these crimes will end. It is not just by removing tinubu, we got to get a president that would improve funding for law enforcement by leaps and bounds.

A decently armed and equipped police force would be able to handle all these issues. But one thing I have found out about Nigerians is, they want their side in power so that they can chop. They do not want actual solutions.

Most Nigerian na emilokan follower and practicioner. TInubu gave a name to something that has been around since independence.

And state police no go solve the problem. Amotekun no go solve the problem. At the end, you need a police force that has drones, helicopters, armoured personell carriers, heavy weaponry, and enough tactical training to deal with these guys. You also need decent enough records systems, even good roads.

In 2023 I had this same argument here when I said a vote for PO is a vote for BAT, it's the same thing again only this time Tinubu will get more votes because more Yorubas will vote for him this time , Northerners will not Vote Obi because they would rather vote Tinubu so after 4 years power can move to the north than vote Obi which means risking 8 more years of southern presidents, Obi wouldn't get as much votes in The SS like he did last time , he will also get less votes in the Middle belt and southwest

If even people around the political conversation are now saying they do not know how President Tinubu will win in 2027, then Nigerians should pay attention. When someone looks at the current reality of hunger, insecurity, inflation, unemployment, angry workers, struggling traders, tired farmers, collapsing small businesses and still cannot see a credible path for Tinubu, that is not hatred. That is political common sense.

The line that “maybe it is spirit that will come and vote for him” captures the mood of the country perfectly.

Because where are the votes supposed to come from?

From the civil servants whose salaries have lost value? From the parents who can no longer pay school fees comfortably? From the market women whose customers are broke? From the farmers afraid to enter their farms? From the youths roaming with certificates and no jobs? From the transporters crushed by fuel prices? From the small business owners spending half of their profit on power? From the communities living under fear of kidnappers and terrorists?

Tinubu’s biggest problem in 2027 will not be opposition propaganda. His biggest problem will be the daily experience of Nigerians.

You cannot tell people the economy is improving when their pots are empty. You cannot tell people reforms are working when their purchasing power has been destroyed. You cannot tell people to be patient while the political class lives in comfort and the masses are asked to sacrifice endlessly. You cannot campaign on renewed hope and deliver renewed pressure, then expect citizens to reward you with another four years.

That is why APC defenders are now relying on grammar, distraction and manufactured confidence. They know the ground is hostile. They know the anger is real. They know 2027 will not be easy. They know Tinubu is grossly unpopular outside the protected bubble of power.

This is where the opposition must be serious.

Nigerians are ready to vote out APC, but the opposition must not waste the people’s anger through division, ego and careless ambition. Tinubu’s only hope is a scattered opposition. If the anti-APC vote is divided into three or four camps, then a deeply unpopular president can still return with minority support.

That must not happen.

Atiku Abubakar remains the clearest path for a serious national opposition. He has the experience, structure, northern depth, southern reach, economic understanding and coalition capacity to confront APC across the map. This is not the time for experiment. This is not the time for emotional politics. This is the time for strategy.

If Tinubu needs spirits to vote for him, then let the living Nigerians organize properly and end this hardship at the ballot.
