One of the reasons TINAPA failed is that:
1. The cabal failed to link it with national grid. All the proceeds of the lakeside hotel goes to the power plant in TINAPA. Buying of diesel etc.
2. The previous admin and the present government owe them huge amount of money. Sending government guests to lodge there without a dime is one of the reasons that place ain't flying.
3. Failure to pay staff. So many staff of the hotel left with up to 8 months salaries without payment.
4. Inability of the government to sustained those shops.
5. High tariff caused a lot of businesses to be shut.
6. Insecurity in the state has really scare tourists from coming to calabar.
7. The business hub of Export Processing Zone (EPZ) is not booming as such TINAPA has a low patronage.
