DeepSight: Nonsense.
Sixty years is not one thousand years.
Think for heavens sake, think!
England example is nonsense?
Don't come back tomorrow and take it back and be too dense to see you have taken it back oh.
I asked you a question before you evaded.
Show me one developed nation that is only sixty years old.
If you can, I surrender.
If you can't, you are talking trash. Israel |

DeepSight: How hard is it for anyone to understand that the life cycle of a human being is not the life cycle of nations? Nations grow and develop over far longer stretches of time.
How hard is it for anyone to understand that a child must make the mistakes of children, an adolescent must have the impulsiveness of adolescents. Why, bemeruca can you not get this into your head. How do you want a 60 year old nation to mirror an England that is over one thousand years old? How do you want a teenager to be the same as an elder?
How are these normal cycles of growth suddenly incomprehensible? It seems you don’t know anything about building, project delivery, or management. Nations do not develop by normalizing failure and calling it growth cycle. Development starts with vision, planning, standards, maintenance, accountability, and execution. You are trying to make excuses for failure by comparing nations to children and teenagers. Even your England example is nonsense. Some buildings and infrastructure in the UK are centuries old and still functioning because when they were built properly according to the technology and standards of the era they were built, and they were maintained till date. The concept. Is called continuous development. That is the point you keep running from. We are not asking a 60y old nation to magically become a 1000y old nation overnight. We are asking why, after 60 years, we still cannot maintain basic water boards, electricity, roads, schools, hospitals, and public systems. A teenager may not have the wisdom of an elder, but even a teenager is expected to grow, learn, take responsibility, and stop repeating the same foolish mistakes. If a 60y old nation is still blaming childhood for every failure, then the problem is not age. The problem is leadership, institutions, culture, corruption, bad choices, and lack of accountability. You are not explaining development. You are romanticizing failure. |

bayelsaowei: Bemeruca.. oya where do you reside?
Come and answer.
🥸🥸 You were asked a simple question. Instead of answering it, you ran away because you know admitting the truth would contradict what you believe in. The point is simple: something useful can come out of something bad. That does not make the bad thing good. If you say English is automatically useless or bad because it came through colonial history, then you must apply the same logic to your faith too, because Jesus, Jehovah, the Bible, and the Gospel also came to many of us through that same colonial route. So stop pretending and deliberately lying. You know the truth |

DeepSight: If you knew they mattered, you would NOT have called them excuses - to the extent of mocking any mention of them. As for progress, as with all societies, it doesn't happen overnight.
Rome was not built in a day, but since black men cant build their Rome in a day, they are useless, according to you lot.
Its not just that you attack everything black. It is how when the tables are turned, you defend everything white. That is what shows your colonial mentality and inferiority complex. You cannot be helped. Goodlawd. |

I have just left you to continue on your downward spiral. When you’re done basking in your love with colonialism, you’d pull yourself back up.
Only you says colonialism isn’t good
The same you still says it was beneficial.
You see yourself?
And you want me to waste my time answering you.
Like my life would be hell or hopeless if we weren’t colonized. Why did you go when I ask you that question? You don't know something that is bad also has benefits? This is new to you? Wow |

Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by bemeruca: 11:42pm On May 22 |
Bayelsaowei knows answering that question will possibly challenge his worldview and beliefs, so he has run away from it.
The easy thing to do was to just say, Oboy, you are right. Colonialism was bad, but these are some things we benefited from because of it.
Saying that is not the same as saying colonialism was good.
Take Messi for example. The genetic/growth issues he had growing up were bad. They almost ruined his life and career. But the same condition that required about $1,000 a month in treatment in the 90s also became part of the story that shaped him into the greatest footballer of all time.
So yes, he benefited from something connected to a bad condition. That does not mean the condition itself was good.
That is the same point here. Colonialism was bad, but admitting that English became useful to us today does not mean we are praising colonialism. |

DeepSight: I am in the mood - Here you are. . .
And these are the very things you spent pages denouncing as excuses. Abi you forgot to remove this from the AI draft?
I said -
And Madam C added -
So are you joking or what.
If anything this just proves what a waste of time engaging you is. It is a shame that you and C lack basic comprehension. I told you exactly what you would do: take my post in isolation, remove the context, and pretend I said something different. And that is exactly what you did. You quoted this part: My point is still that education matters, history matters, racism matters, colonialism matters, institutions matter. But you deliberately ignored the two main BUTs in my argument: But internal choices also matter. Leadership matters. Culture matters. Accountability matters. Family structure matters. Greed and selfishness matter. and the other. That is the context. My argument has never been that climate, history, colonialism, racism, or education have zero effect. My argument is that they do not answer the present question of why many African countries are still badly governed, badly maintained, corrupt, tribalistic, and underdeveloped in 2026. See through this example: Gravity makes flight difficult, so gravity matters. We humans did not sit down and say, “gravity is a root factor, so flying is impossible.” We used intelligence, science, engineering, to build a mechanism to overcome it. That is the point. Climate may create difficulty, just like gravity creates difficulty. But serious societies respond with technology, planning, discipline, institutions, and accountability. Unserious societies turn every difficulty into an excuse. Many of the climate barriers you are talking about had already been conquered by technology before most African countries gained independence. You can continue to be ignorant and accept failure because you are normalizing it. Don't just cry when people look at Africa and call it a sheet ole. |

DeepSight: I am not the one who spent forever shouting "excuses!" only to come here and admit that the said excuses matter and then remain daft enough to fail to see that I have ceded the entire debate. If they ask you to prove this you know you can't. When you read or take information in isolation, you will never know the context of it. |

budaatum: I don't know how many times I need to repeat to you that Nigeria failed because of ignorance, and not because of colonialism.
For your information, I took books from the supposed colonisers to colonise my own people. And no, that is not me in the picture as I was the camera person. You should be shouting this to DeepSight, not me. I am not disputing this at all. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by bemeruca: 9:05pm On May 22 |
budaatum: Listen to yourself. In one sense you claim I am "not stupid enough to say nothing good came out of it", and in the other you claim I "talk about the suffering and selfish nature of it" like both can not be true, though I do not quite know what suffering, apart from slavery, you might be refering to.
The colonisers did not colonise us for our own benefit but for theirs, but I could argue we might still be killing twins or all be Muslims, since Muslims colonised us first.
Perhaps post links to where "You and I have discussed this many times" so you can be seen not to be lying. You should listen to yourself because you are reading faster then your brain can process. You critique colonialism, you are the champion of it as far as this thread is concern. You are not stupid enough to say you did not benefit from the English Language that you speak. That is my point. I have made the case time and time again that colonialism is bad, our ancestors suffered. I also argued about the benefits that came out of it. No one said they did it for our benefit, it does not mean we did not benefit anyway (in this case or context the language we speak). |

IjeBos: Bwahahahahaha I think you've made my point about you not having a proper basis in English and that being the reason you use ChatGPT "anyway" is not "any way". "anyway" means "regardless or nonetheless" "any way" means "in any manner" The proper usage is what I wrote. "any way you slice it" or "in any manner you slice it"

budaatum: Why must you always lie, ben?
Where did buda "champion in criticising colonialism", which buda knows was inevitable? Or do you not know that Britain was colonised by Rome?
So you know, the smarter would always colonise the less smart. And it is the less smart's fault for being less smart. Also, it is stupid to colonise the colonisers in the language of the coloniser. And for your information, I'd be dead if I hadn't run from my colonised home to my colonisers home.
Here is a thread about colonialism. Read it and know buda's view instead of making up lies to believe! You and I have discussed this many times. You critique it, you talk about the suffering and selfish nature of it, that's criticism. You are not stupid enough to say nothing good came out of it, even the language (English) that you speak. |

bayelsaowei: You think I am picking a side? I am saying what and how I feel.
Your obeisance to colonizers is alarming..
You are the one on a path to lunacy.. Nobody is worshipping colonizers. You throw it words like this easily. Saying English is useful as a common language is not obeisance. It's the truth, a basic reality. You are attacking English while using English to communicate your argument. Are you serious? Our ancestors suffered under colonialism, yes. That does not mean every single thing that came through that history has zero practical value today. We can test that by how you communicate with me. Have ever written a memorandum in your place of work in ijaw? Why not? What about your Thesis? Christianity, the Bible, the Gospel, and your awareness of Jehovah and Jesus also spread widely in Africa through the same colonial-era channels. Are you going to drop your religion too? Or do you accept that something can come through a painful historical process and still become useful or meaningful to people today? Stop arguing nonsense, you know better. |

TV01: Ekemefune, you are back...missed you . The only person I enjoy trolling more than ShallowVision is you.
Please sir, what is Igbo for "mitosis", or Yoruba for "chromosomes"? How about the Ijaw word for "Autophagy"? What native Nigerian language had a scientific lexicon? How would speakers of native Nigerian languages have engaged in scientific discourse?
In the absence of "misadventure" from the west. or the use of their language, what scientific engagement did African tribes have, or could have in their native tongues?
If English had not come to us by way of colonisation, to even begin to partake of the technological advancement of the more developed nations we would have had to use their language? How would Nigeria develop a common language? I see Fula may be on the cards .
Colonisation was damaging, but not wholesale without benefit. Keep using it as a reason for not advancing.
How's the market in vibranium (sorry I forget i's indigenous name) . Wakanda ko, Zamunda ni.
TV My issue is with Bayelsaowei, who I believe is a very smart person, siding with this lunacy for the sake of picking a side. Budaatum, who is a champion in criticising colonialism, recognized its benefits. These people can't help themselves. |

budaatum: Yes, I would call that ignorance, and deceitfulness for their own selfish benefit. Those who are not ignorant are not selfish, and they know their actions have negative consequences for themselves. Unfortunately, we Nigerians have not yet learned to ensure those consequences are inevitable, so dishonesty pays some.
Education, as in, proper beneficial mind using education, will enable us to put measures in so the right behaviour is rewarded and the wrong behaviour is paid for.
Do note that you are talking about the education of an individual, while I am talking about our collective ignorance. Currently, if I ignorantly steal all Nigeria's money and take it to my Orolu Kingdom, my own ignorant people would likely make me king. If we were knowledgeable they'd stone me. This is bad 😳😳😳 Budaatum, go through your logic or reasoning again and tell me if it makes sense. |

The question is why is the AI model generating these responses. There are tons of bias in this post esp. regarding Israel. Is Bemeruca interjecting that bias to get these responses or is it the AI's model that has these predisposed biases.
Bemeruca, can you show us the prompts you are entering into AI? Curious. AI is biased about Israel 😂😂😂 I don't expect anything tangible from you, all I see is your Peter Pan syndrome in full display. |

bayelsaowei: So without English we would not be able to communicate to each other?
I don’t understand…
So my ijaw language I use in communicating is ineffectual or not beneficial? Of course you don't. Without cars, we were able to travel from point A to point B; that does not mean that cars are not beneficial. You use it to communicate with whom? Hausa? He or she is going to need a translator or learn your language, but do not expect the same Hausa man or woman to learn the remaining 98 languages. Imagine living in a country like this with over 100 ethnic languages, and we have to have a university unique to each language in its respective location villages, etc. Bayelsa alone has various tribes with different languages. I am baffled by how you guys reason. |

budaatum: You obviously have no clue what I am talking about, and nor do I expect you to. I know what you are talking about. You are just oversimplifying things. If someone publicly talks about corruption, the damage corruption does. Rally against thieves, says all the right things about accountability, sees the benefit of stopping corruption but when he enters office, he uses that same office to steal - that's Nigeria's situation. Will you call that Ignorance? You are acting as if once people use their minds, or let to use it, a magically spell has been introduced, they will automatically become honest. We as humans do not work like that. People can know the right thing and still do the wrong thing. People can understand morality and still choose evil. People can understand consequences for society and still act for themselves. |

budaatum: Actually, it is being ignorant and uneducated. But I guess by "educated" you mean formal education, and not the sort of education that promotes mind use.
People who are educated to use their minds would see more benefit for themselves and society in not being corrupt, greedy, tribalistic, racist, selfish, or dishonest, for those are things the ignorant do, "educated" or not.
You have no clue what you are talking about. This is you oversimplifying things. |
