Crime / Re: Truecaller Really Saved My Dad O by Benbisco(f): 7:19pm On May 02
080cee:
Sometime in 2020 just immediately after Covid lockdown, my father got a call from a certain “Williams Williams” as identified by Truecaller… he claimed to be from his bank without mentioning a particular banks name. During the cause of their conversation about BVN linkage my father asked “what is your name”? the criminal said Mattew from your bank. Again my father asked “Why then is Truecaller showing your name as Williams Williams then he replied “ I didn’t register the line with my real name” immediately my father said Call me with the bank Line and we can finish the conversation…. Until today we are still waiting for his call.. Living in a society filled with scammers, it’s essential everyone both young and old make use of Truecaller for true identity of their callers.

That scammer get respect for elders so he did not insult your Dad. The ones I have encountered always end the calls with insults ( one even insult my papa wey don pass on since). Me I will be like "me and you who suppose insult each other"?

Sometimes it's not by Age that makes people think or act weird , reasons behind human behavior can be deeper that you imagine .

This is the story of a 16years old girls who poisoned her madam , kids and brother her reason for this act is simply because she needs money 💰

The question is how did she plan this was a voice guiding her pls watch below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVNg2a_pXvw?si=VTB4MrJfnCw_XwwE

Uncle, the title of your post is misleading. She did not poison them. She wanted to poison them; as in she had it in mind to poison them .

So what did the herbalist tell his followers after he failed to revive him?? grin

I've always been curious about things like this and hope to find myself in such scenario because I will boldly ask the herbalist/cleric/pastor if he/she is powerless.

For you to attempt to revive him means your deity assured you it was capable. Failing to revive him means your deity is either powerless or fake.

Simple.

Pls do not be in a hurry to say such. Not because I patronize them but because reading your post, I was wondering if you would say medical science is powerless if someone taken to a medical practitioner does not make it out alive.

Politics / Re: What I Learned After Months Of Being Off Nairaland by Benbisco(f): 5:00pm On Apr 11
LocalStandard1:
I decided to post this as I noticed a total mental, emotional and general transformation about myself after being off Nairaland for literally months. first long time off since I discovered the forum more than a decade ago. Maybe you too can learn something.

- NIGERIA--- Firstly not reading real time news about Nigeria and knowing what goes on in the country and what happens or doesn't has made me realize it is Nigerians and there "leaders" that are the biggest problems with a very negative view point about everything and each other. The opportunities everywhere are very immense and with a population of well over 200 million there are no limits and only very few can match the market . Being too engulfed with Nairaland has a way of brainwashing you to believe you're better off leaving Nigeria and life is better anywhere else but here.

-TRIBAL AFFILIATED SENTIMENTS--- I just bought a business from an Igbo person, he trusted I would do better and trusted me from Kaduna State even more than two other interested candidates who're of his tribe, maybe even same State of origin. Consciously or unconsciously every Nairaland members is almost far gone on tribal bigotry, every. And I have learned the most ignorant but very dangerous people are tribal bigots and jingoists. Nairaland recruits them and sustains them, they're so far gone they would never know how much.

- SELF HATE --- The most racism on Black People you can find is among Nairaland members, nobody hates Black people in general and Africans in particular like Nairalanders and Nigerians. What makes it overwhelming is they themselves are both Black people and Africans. The self-hate and self-demeaning nature is so shocking I begin to wonder "should I fight the Whites and Asians against racism and educate them about African and Black people's history or fight and educate fellow Nigerians first?"

Coupled with the fact the White-worship on Nairaland is something I've never seen anywhere else other than among other Nigerians in person. Everyone want some kind of White-approval online I begin to wonder "are they writing this comment or post for some foreigners here? "

- "GENDER WARS"--- One of the most pitiable state you can be in is being a gender warrior and I thought only young guys here are gender warriors till I realize even married women here too seem to engage in it and by extension looking like they disdain their so-called "husbands", and I pray the singles just remain that way so as not to burden someone else with such unfounded venom. I pity and I fear!
Nairaland promotes, encourages, sustains and feeds on the hate of the other gender you're not one of. It seems like only for laughs but it is actually pitiable, sorry state of mind.

-THE STATS SHOWS HOPE --- I am satisfied when I looked at the Nairaland stats and saw that a majority of the members no longer come online, with less than 1,700 online at any given time of day, it shows majority are tired and want no part in what seems to be comfortably pushed.

I think Nairalanders most realize you can never win the internet, and it is not healthy for any aspect of your life this intense internet negativity you project but it takes from you more than you know and far more than you will ever admit.

Trust me, I very much know. Better luck!
.....

I totally agree with you. These days, lot of the posts and comments on Nairaland make me wonder if they were written by adullts or minors. It breaks my heart when I read posts of supposed adults abusing parents and running down the opposite gender.

Some people are so disrespectful that I wonder if they will be able to say some of the things they say here to the people they say them to if they meet up with them.

Before nko Ivory won does not mean they played better football although I don't care about ranking nonsense same as in cricket but the truth is Ivory Coast played no football in this last tournament they are just lucky and their yeye superstition that mistakenly favoured them that is all.

To be honest, the Elephants of Ivory Coast played better than the Super Eagles at the finals. Even the stats during and after the game showed it. Remember the stats are electronically generated via AI.

I felt really bad when the former Bafana Bafana player in the studio was analysing the match after the game and he said "the Eagles played poorly or rather, the Elephants made them look like tbey played poorly ".

SojWORLDWIDE:

A Nigerian whose identity was not known x-rayed the living standard of Nigerians in Nigeria with what is obtainable in the United States.

Full Text

DON'T EVER CURSE YOUR COUNTRY
1. If you don't know how you are blessed, you will think your father's farm is worse than your friend father's farm.
2. $1 is ₦1.500 and so what?
3. Let me elucidate from my little experience. Can anyone in the US use $1 for breakfast? No!

4. But in Nigeria, ₦1.500 will give you breakfast and lunch.
5.Majority of people's monthly house rent (self contained apartment) in the USA is $1,000 and above... and that is your own 2 year's rent!
6. Have you ever paid for insurance before? Insurance in the US is $280 and that is almost ₦100,000 monthly.
7. When last did you pay monthly phone bills? I pay almost ₦40,000 monthly and if I don't, they are going to block my SIM. Your own MTN can be there for months without recharge.
8. When last did you work on Saturday and Sunday?
9. This I do compulsorily and on regular basis.
10. Don't get me wrong, the US is better than Nigeria, depending on which angle you are viewing it.
11. Do you want to hear the truth?
12. Many people in Nigeria live a more fulfilling life compared to their counterparts abroad.

13. Forget about all the packaging on social media and give credit to the good life you are living.
14. Do you know why Nigerians living in the US always rush back quickly whenever they come home visiting?
15. Because bills are counting and elongated absence (freedom) will put their lives in jeopardy.
16. If you, as a black person, attempt to emulate the whites, they will kneel on your neck.
17. Apart from Congo, no citizens in the entire universe enjoy life to the fullest than Nigerians.

18. You are abundantly blessed but you don't know until you get visa and relocate abroad, that is when you will know that your 8-hour job in Nigeria with free weekend is awoof.
19. With 11-hour job abroad, you can only pay bills, you need other 6 to 8 hours jobs to save for the future and plan your life.
20. The truth is that the grass is green everywhere, it's lack of vision greed of our leaders/politicians and the skewed religious practices (which placed emphasis on miracles) that ascended Nigeria onto a myopic tentacle of complete standstill.
21. Always thank God wherever you may find yourself. Nigeria is good and will be better.
22. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

There's this girl I'm dating. So yesterday we talked about marriage and all that. She now told me that if we get married that she won't bear my name. That I should take note now. That she would continue to bear her father's name that all that name change things were for our parents that things have changed and the world has changed.

She even called me an old school person who is still stuck in the past. That all over the world women no longer take the name of their husbands. I now asked her that who's surname would our kids answer. She flared up and told me to grow up stop disturbing her with childish questions.

I decided to bring it here, because I want to know how the question I asked is childish? Because when I told my elder brother who is married he told me that it's an insult for a girl to reply me that way. What do you people think?

seunlayi:
Pathetic .

Over 5 dead due to the heat from the game. Well, this is not a new thing because am sure many Nigerian fans have died while watching our team played. I can remember the saddness of many when we watched the defeat of Nigeria by Italy @USA 94 world cup at Trenchard Hall, our defeat by Cameroun in several finals, and many over celebrating after victories have rushed to early grave. Only that communication is facilitating more people to watch a game at the same time these days and allowing the spread of news like this.

If you know you gat no strong heart, avoid watching your national team play. National team is different from club football if you don't know name you know it better ask GK Stanley Nwabali, some players and coaches why they always looked away from the game when they're teams are playing penalty kicks AND CELEBRATE MODERATELY

USA 94, Nigeria VS Italy wey Nigeria was winning Italy 1:0, less than 5mins to full time Italy equalized. Before you say Jack Robinson, they scored a second goal and that was it for Nigeria, their very first match after the group stages.

I never forget am yet.

Chief of staff in a State is the Defacto Governor of that State. Just as COS to the President is the Defacto President of that Country.
All Civil Commissioners, SPA's, SA's, PA's, CPS, Heads & Chairmen of Government board and Agencies appointed by the Governor or the President are under the direct supervision & control by the COS.
A speaker must get cleared by the COS if he desire an audience with the governor and same goes to all the commissioners, etc.
The COS is as powerful as the governor, though he work behind the scene

I’m in a dicey situation atm, there is this new absurd closeness between my wife’s friend and I to the extent that played a little romance the last time she visited and we both planned this weekend for a match and she even called me today to remind me of it.
The problem right now is I don’t wish to continue with our plan due to the fact that it’s too close to home and my wife would eventually find out and if she doesn’t I believe her friend would start giving her attitudes which might still later cast the act.
I don’t know how to call her and tell her I can’t do it, I’m thinking of ghosting her during the weekend…pls who has been in this situation before?

If I understand you well, the reason you want to cancel is because it is someone close and there is a possibility your wife will find out not because you realized it is wrong to cheat on your wife. Meaning if there is an opportunity with another person you sill cheat on your wife.

Chai, there is God o.

Why Do Nigerians Look at Me Like a Fool for Doing This?

Ever since I returned to Nigeria years ago, I have never disposed or dropped dirt on the ground. Even when I go out and eat something, I'd rather put the peel or paper in my pocket if there is no trash can around and dispose it when I get home. It's a habit now and it's addictive.

I lived and studied in a country where everything is as neat and clean as Heaven. There is trash can every 2-3 minutes walk distance. Nobody drops things or pins on the ground except by accident and you pick it up immediately.

So, this is the life I live in Nigeria, but they always mock me as if I'm committing a crime. What is going on?

Is the right thing considered wrong in Nigeria? What is wrong in keeping the country clean and never dropping things on the floor no matter where you are?

Whenever I go out and I see people drop something on the ground, I caution them. It doesn't matter your size or age.

Everybody does it to the point that I can't keep up anymore, so I gave up, but deep down, when I see someone dropping something on the ground, all I think about is how I'll k*ll that dirty idiōt. Shege banza!

If I become your president, hmmm!

Its a good habit you have there but I think it is not about the country you lived and studied in but it is a lifestyle/habit that is inborn. I can tell you for free that there are people in that same country that still litter and see nothing wrong with it and there are also some Nigerians that have never gone abroad that will never litter.
