TotoNaRubber:Congratulations but this is investment channel. You can go to NL romance section and start a channel about your escapades. |
OgogoroFreak:I think 5m is minimum for stock account and 100k is minimum for bond account. |
Nigsrdumb:I agree with you. Few days ago, I created a new account. The FBNquest app is a total mess. I cannot update my employment or next of kin status or even do anything meaningful with the app. I sent an email since 2 days and no response. |
jumboo:When you think it couldn’t get worse now another ridiculous assumption. Someone few days ago was very happy about the fake news from punch that individuals are barred from buying treasury bills because according to him profits from treasury bills are ‘free money’. Some of us who invest in treasury bills live abroad and you think we are unpatriotic and greedy by lending to our home country to build infrastructures. You think everybody has time to run a business or even knows how to run a business in a risky environment such as Nigeria. The money we lend to government in treasury bills is put into building of infrastructures that employ many Nigerians. You see building of infrastructures from treasury bills funds creates jobs. Indirectly we are creating jobs. Those folks who earn money working in infrastructural projects funded by treasury bills and bonds in turn put that money back into the economy. So treasury bills investors are not unpatriotic and we are not greedy because our country and many of our fellow citizens are benefiting from our investments. Another point is that I will never put my money into any business in Nigeria while I reside abroad. Even if treasury bills rate goes to 0.00001%, I will never put my hard earned money into any business in Nigeria. Until our govt. in Nigeria creates a friendly business environment, I will be glad to leave my funds in savings account in the country of my residence than to lose them trying to invest in risky businesses back home. |
Folks be careful how you divulge information about your financial status in this forum. The fake news from punch about CBN blocking individuals from buying treasury bills has really revealed the minds of some in this channel. Not everybody who comes here is happy that you are making money by investing your sweat in treasury bills. It really baffles me that someone in this forum thinks that profits from treasury bills are free money. |
Jejebabaa:Good for you brother. If it’s a personal loan for that rate, then you must have an excellent super credit score and you are lucky too. |
Jejebabaa:No bank in the U.S. will give you 0.1% interest rate on personal loan, student loan, car loan or even mortgage. Getting a lower interest rate loans depends on your credit history/score. If you have an excellent credit score then you can secure a good/lower interest rate for personal loans from 4.99-10% or even higher. Yes you can get 0.1% interest rate on your savings, cds etc but not on loans. I hope this helps. God bless |
partnerbizz5:You are entitled to your misconstrued opinion. If I have offended you by my advice, you should hear the ones I keep to myself. You know what, I don't do social media personal attacks since they are not productive. Sometimes sarcasm falls out of my mouth but I don't know about you. All of us here have one thing in common, we all bring happiness to this room. Some do when they enter, some do when they leave. Thanks for responding as I learn alot from dissent opinions. My off button is turned on for this issue. Now let's get to back NTB. I have some maturing soon. Do you think is gonna go south or north in the next three month? I like you know what you and other folks think given the current state of affairs. Muchas gracias. Blessings brother. |
Sach:I am so sorry about that. USI-Tech is a Ponzi scheme. All you can do is to file a report with an anti-fraud agency where you reside but I doubt if they can do much. You can at least try. God bless. |
deepwater:Thanks for bringing up my previous posts. I am glad you saved me the time of having to respond to a friend who earlier today said that I have not been part of the discussion on this sub. I ignored him but I am glad you responded on my behalf. I appreciate it. I do not see any contradiction(s) in my previous posts and today's. I acknowledged today that I have been one of those telling noobs to read previous pages when they ask questions. My reasoning today is, why do we tell noobs to read previous pages when they ask questions yet we waste time talking about our net worth. When I used the plural pronoun 'we', it meant myself included. I post sparingly on social media and some of them I am proud of and some I am not. For your information, I save all my social media posts. So spare yourself the headache of bringing them up for me. “Guy no allow me reason you mata o, cus I go enter you prapra!” - I could not respond to this because I do not know what you are talking about but I hope you have a beautiful night. God bless |
deepwater:Thank you and blessings |
feelamong:Hello brother, I really appreciate you a lot. I did not know anything about NTB until I found this sub. Before then, I was just doing fixed deposit. Like I said earlier no need to reveal anything here but I want you to know that financially you have liberated so many folks with this sub myself included. That’s why I want us to keep your spirit alive here for our younger generation. Again few years ago you mentioned crypto currency on this sub some of us dismissed you and called crypto a scam. You were not going to give up because you actually started a thread on Bitcoin. I followed you and started buying BTC, ETH and few other alts. I use Binance and Coinbase but I store them in hard wallets. I have seen the lows and the highs of crypto. I am a hodlor but when BTC or ETH pamps, I sell and put the gain into NTB. Thank you again for spreading your knowledge and for empowering so many of us. In 2012 you had a vision to financially empower young Nigerians and I can say you have succeeded. English philosopher Francis Bacon said ‘Knowledge is power’. In appreciation and in your honor , I would like to make a small donation in ETH to a charity that you support. I would appreciate if send me your ETH addresss. God bless. |
Bamz:Thank you. In the past some of us have gently reminded these folks not to reveal their financial status here because 1. they open themselves up to attacks from criminals who are all over social media profiling and we don’t want that 2. it is immaterial to the discussion here and very toxic as folks start fighting over who is richer 3. As a behavioral therapist , I would say it’s a sign of interior emptiness and poverty of mind. In 2012, Feelamong started this thread and I have never seen him and many other mature minds in this sub reveal or fight over how much they have. You see what irritates me is that when noobs come here to learn, to ask questions about NTB like I did many years ago, we tell them go read the 1st 10 pages yet we waste time bragging about our net worth. How does that help those noobs coming here to learn about NTB. The event of Mt.Gox Hack in 2014 or others are there to teach us never to reveal our financial information on social media. If you have lots of money in your bank accounts, don’t tell the public, get yourself a token(soft or hard) for large withdrawals. And if you have lots of BTC and alts, don’t tell the public, buy a hard wallet like Ledger NanoS and store all your coins on it. Don’t leave a lot of your coins on exchanges. I hope I have not offended anyone here but if I have, I apologize. Let’s get back to the spirit of Feelamong, the founding father of this great family. Peace |
Nnamz:Thank you and blessings. |
I don’t know who is the admin for this sub but geez he/she is not doing a good job in controlling the kids that have flooded our sub. Instead of talking about treasury bills, we now have kids here bragging about their net worth. Your net worth is immaterial to our discussion here so keep it to yourself. I hope you will listen and let’s go back talking about treasury bills and how we can all continue to benefit from it. |
DaBogu:Lol. Calm yo tits bro. This has nothing to do with those who reside and work in the United States. Know the difference between immigrant and non-immigrant visas. This affects only the renewal of non-immigrant visas(visiting visas). Suspending Dropbox visa renewal means that those who want to renew their non-immigrant visas must appear for an interview at the Abuja or Lagos embassies instead of sending their documents to the embassies by FEDEX. I hope this helps to calm you down. Keep yourself informed, don’t call folks idiots because they disagree with you on certain issues. You can always make your points without calling people names. Next time remember that this thread is for Treasury Bills. |
DMerciful:It’s not like I-Invest app. On the Gtb online banking platform, you can only view your tb investments and nothing more. If you want to invest , roll over or terminate you have to talk to your account officer and he or she will carry it out. I have been in tb for many years and I have never visited my banks. I always send emails with an attached pdf file of official letter/instructions to my account officer. I use Gtb and first bank and it’s pretty simple. Now I use Gtb often because my 3 account officers are very reliable. |
DMerciful:When you login to your Gtb account online, you can monitor your treasury bills. Gtbank lists all the details of your tb investments. |
faoogoke:It does not make sense to me when you tell folks to close their accounts with a bank because of a particular experience you had with a particular branch. I have been with GTB (Ikenegbu Owerri branch) for over a decade and it’s been a wonderful experience. At Gtb, I have 3 account officers with their phone numbers and email addresses listed on my online banking platform. I have unhindered access to all of them. They respond to emails, phone calls, text messages and Whatsapp message/calls. I also bank with First bank and it’s been an awful experience when dealing with my account officer over there. The issues I have had with my account officer at FBN does not mean that I close my accounts. All I did was to request that my account officer be changed. Bro if you close your account whenever you have issues with a particular branch, one day you may end up not having any bank account in Nigeria. Demand that your account officer be changed if she/he is not reliable. You do this by sending complaint email to their headquarters. Whenever I have any issue with my branch, I don’t complain to my branch. I send emails to the contact center copying the bank’s complaint unit and my branch, and within 24 hours that issue is resolved. But in the event that the issue is not resolved in 14 days, send an email to Consumer Protection Department of the CBN at cpd@cbn.gov.ng. Make sure you copy your bank on this email. From my experience, it takes less than 24 hrs to have issues fixed when you complain to CBN. I hope this helps folks having issues with their banks. |
Zinny18:“WHAT DOES THE COURT RULING MEAN FOR THE REST OF US? First of all, your money is safe. A Writ of Fi Fa prohibits the bailiff from seizing the goods of third parties. Account holders with GTBank are the third parties in this context, and their monies are the goods in question. Neither the court nor the bailiff can touch the money in your account towards offsetting the judgment debt. Apart from this, all monies deposited with Nigerian banks are insured by the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). In other words, even if GTBank or any other bank was undergoing a hostile takeover, being acquired, merged or winding up, your money would still be safe and retrievable. Except if the bank itself wishes to make any changes, the court ruling does not impact the management of the bank. Innoson Motors also does not own any part of GTBank by virtue of the court ruling. Cast aside the memes and blog headlines you’ve been seeing. GTBank profit after tax for the financial year ending December 2017 was up to the tune of N170 billion. The bank donated up to N870 million for charitable causes in same period. It would take more than a N8.7 billion debt to ground the bank, or render it incapable of dispensing its services. It might lose some of its physical assets such as bank branches and the equipment therein towards offsetting the judgment debt, but that is as far as the judgment goes.” Excerpt from Innoson Motors v. GTBank: What the Recent Supreme Court really means for lawyers, customers, and the general public by Akintunde Agunbiade | Apr 1, 2019 | on Lawyard.ng Last time I checked, U.S. Embassy in Nigeria is still using Gtbank for payment of visa fees. Please do well to keep yourself informed. Don’t create unnecessary panic for yourself and for others. I hope this helps you. God bless. |
pscindustries:Could you please tell me what’s needed (equipments+price) to solar power a home with 2 led smart tv(50” and 39”) , 1 hp AC, 1.5 hp AC, 1 freezer, 1 fridge, 4 fans, microwave, multiple pop bulbs, charging phones and laptops. These appliances are not necessarily gonna be on at the same time but just to give you a clue as to what price range of complete solar kit I am looking at. Thanks for your time |
eagleeye2:Good question. That’s why you need to have a Last Will and Testament made. Approach a lawyer to help you prepare one. I am still a young man and I don’t have too much wealth but I have a will. In this country we are afraid to talk about death but surely it’s a reality. If you have any financial investments no matter how little, secure them for your loved ones by having a Last Will and Testament. I will not repeat the mistakes of my parents and grandparents. |
ahiboilandgas:I hope you don’t use that site for your economic indicator. Earlier this year, it predicted $50000/BTC and $10000/ETH EOY. Be careful with these predictions. God bless. |
I see that some folks intentionally or unintentionally want to derail this sub. For the past few days, I have noticed name calling, insults and pride on this sub. We must not forget that our forum was started by Feelamong on Feb. 24, 2012 for the purpose of helping folks understand and invest in NTB. Today I am a beneficiary of Feelamong’s ingenuity. It will be nice if we keep this forum for NTB. For those talking about inflation and saving in dorm accounts, you can start a sub on inflation and I know many folks here be willing to subscribe. Few years back I flipped all my Usd to naira at $/492 and invested all in treasury bills at 18% interest rate for 364 days. Today it’s $/360. When I flipped $ to ₦, some of my friends flipped ₦ to $ predicting $/1000. They said naija was going to burn down but the good Lord did not allow our country to burn down. No body knows tomorrow. I could also have been at loss and still can if ₦ depreciates a lot in future. My point is that this sub exists to encourage Nigerian young people to cultivate the culture of saving and for me NTB is a zero risk way to achieve that. Please let’s keep this forum only for NTB investment and please stop all personal attacks. We are all here to learn from each other. Blessings folks. |
Ramj:Not sure but if you do online banking you will see all your TBills details when you login into your account. |
dotcomnamename:You are absolutely correct. When we advice new folks to read from page one of this sub in order to understand how we arrived here, some of them will become hostile. We have been investing in NTB for several years without any issues but now folks like Gonfreecss1 jump out of the woods to lecture us about risk in NTB. My advice to young people here: Save, save, save and NTB is a zero- risk way to achieve that. |
Grupo:I am not against asking questions here but don’t be mad at folks when they tell you to read previous page(s). If I have been away on this thread for so long, I don’t start reading from the current page when am back but I return to the exact page I last visited. Peace brother. |
Grupo:I don’t blame PMB when he said ‘some Nigerian youths are lazy’. You are insulting folks for telling you to take time to study and be informed of what you are investing in. Now I see why MMM was very successful in Naija. |
Jafsent30:Please click the FAQ link below and keep yourself informed. There is no problem with withdrawal. AlienDude:Thanks for your response. How fast do you think Graceland will develop to golf estate status. What type of buildings are springing up there and are they well planned? Do you know if government has interest in road constructions in the area. Thanks for your time. |
spyder880:Thanks brother. I appreciate your response. |
