Ignatius Asabor was born in Delta State but resides in Benin City, Edo State. He started exploring his innate tech abilities as early as 8 years old. He improvised using scraps and waste materials to build his creations such as cars, drones, and other auto works.

As predictable as most Nigerian parents will be, Ignatius was always chided by his parents for wasting his time creating instead of reading his books. His mum in particular wanted him to become a lawyer. This was not his dream but that of whom brought him to earth. Destroying his creations was usually the punishment he was given when he erred but these actions didn’t deter him. Rather, he was determined.

Since his parents couldn’t stop him, they enrolled him into Utagba-Ogbe Technical College, Kwale, Delta State to improve his skills but Ignatius was already so far gone as he taught the wards in the school better and always topped his class.

Heartbeat360 Media took a trip to his workshop at Oluku, Benin City, Edo state where he creates his inventions. The workshop doubles as a gallery for his inventions. We found different types of drones but the one he is particular about is “The Crop Duster”. An agricultural drone that can be used for fertilizer spraying and more.

His current highest qualification is a NABTEB diploma but his skills have earned him a Six Month job in Finland and is currently working on his work permit.

The Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Godswin Akpabio is being investigated for allegedly attempting to bribe some officials of the Code of Conduct Bureau.

This was made known by the Federal Commissioner in Code of Conduct Bureau(CCB), Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma on Monday while speaking with journalists in Abuja.

Agbonayinma, who heads a subcommittee investigating the case, said it is not a witch-hunt.

According to media reports, Akapabio allegedly offered bribe to the CCB officials to give a “soft landing” to Sole Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Efiong Okon Akwa over discrepancies in his asset declaration form.

Agbonayinma said the Bureau was looking at the accusation first made against Mr Akpabio by Jackson Ude on Twitter.

“We have been given a mandate by the bureau to investigate the allegation against some officials of CCB that we saw on social media. Let me be specific, one Mr Jackson Ude twitted, and it went viral, that money was given to some officials of CCB by Akpabio. Because of that, a committee to investigate the allegation was set up, with myself as the chairman,” he said.

He added that the subcommittee interacted with Akpabio over the allegation.

“The committee is not to witch-hunt anyone but to do its job of defending the constitution of Nigeria.

“We invited Akpabio, who in his wisdom, came to give his side of the story. At the moment, we cannot pass judgment as the investigation is still in progress. All the accused parties remain innocent until the investigation is over,” he added.

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki insists the security challenges facing the state is a bit exaggerated.

The governor made this remark when he was addressing journalists after holding a closed-door meeting with the Arewa community in the state.

When quizzed about the security challenges in the state, Godwin Obaseki said COVID-19 has claimed more lives than the farmers-herders clash in the state.

“Listening to the various communities, you see a deliberate attempt by some misguided people to play politics with security in Nigeria and it’s really unfortunate”.

The Sarkin-Hausa of the Arewa community in Edo State, Alhaji Adamu Isa has said that he has not received any reports about the killings of northerners in Edo State.

Isa made the remarks while addressing the press soon after having a closed-door meeting with the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki in Benin City.


Tension had risen in the past few days when two videos surfaced online picturing armed individuals suspected to be herders were apprehended by Irate youths.

In another video, the suspected herders were reportedly set ablaze inside their vehicle.

Isa said he is yet to find facts about the incidents and insisted that Edo people are peace-loving. He urged the people to disregard the reports on social media about such killings when asked about the details of the meeting.

“The issue of banditry, other security challenges, and lies being posted on social media that Arewa members are being killed in Edo.

“As far as I’m concerned as the Sarkin-Hausa in Benin, who is the head of all the Arewa community in Edo State, I have not gotten facts about the stories been shared on the social media”

Osigwe gave a hint about the business model of the company’s new product when he said the car drivers could own the vehicles after three years which suggests that Innoson cars will be given to pilots on a hire purchase.

The Anselm Ojezua led faction of the All Progressives Congress has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party on his re-election.

This comes after President Buhari and the National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mai Buni had earlier congratulated the governor and his deputy.

In a statement signed by Anselm Ojezua, he dubbed the election has generally peaceful, orderly and transparent.

Obaseki's Convoy Attacked At Oshiomhole's Ward (VIDEO)

Governor Godwin Obaseki’s convoy was allegedly attacked by hoodlums as he led his campaign train into Ward 10, Apana, where the former national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, hails from and votes.


The thugs were allegedly dislodged by a combined team of security personnel and vigilante groups, who repelled their gunshots while the state Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu gave them a hot chase.

Shaibu, in a rare show of bravery, jumped out of his Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), to challenge the thugs, stunning members of the campaign team including Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, the former Chief of Staff to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

The pandemonium caused by the gunshots and the hurling of stones stalled the governor’s convoy temporarily before the Ward-to-Ward campaign train berthed at Adams Oshiomhole’s corridor at Apana Market Square in Ward 10.

The PDP campaign council had suspended its Ward-to-Ward rally earlier scheduled for 10th and 11th of August 2020 in the area, due to security reports of planned attack on the Governor and PDP campaign team.

A female police personnel, who was caught recording the footage of the foiled attack, got a close shave with death while a crowd of PDP supporters including women and youths were unmoved despite the hot exchange.

Addressing members of PDP and supporters at Apana Village Square on Thursday afternoon, Obaseki recalled several attempts by Oshiomhole, the former governor of the state to scuttle his re-election efforts through violent means.

He said the forthcoming poll would determine who will take charge of the levers of power in Edo politics.

The Governor vowed not to succumb to the antics of some members of the main opposition party in the state to plunge the state into chaos, which could result in the postponement of the election.

“As we were coming here (Village Square in Apana), you heard what happened. They went to hire thugs and began to shoot to prevent us from coming here. On September 19, 2020, use your Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to ‘pepper them’.

“Ward 10 is a special ward. This election is special. It will show who is in charge of politics in Edo State. For all my eight years in Government, you know what I did for Comrade Oshiomhole. He said it with his mouth. I supported him to be the Governor. I raised funds for him. I worked for him and Edo State for eight years without receiving a dime,” he said.

In reacting to the attack allegations, the Head of Media, APC campaign committee, John Mayaki, described the allegation as baseless.

He said, “We should all go out to campaign. I am busy in my village campaigning. All they do is accusing. I really don’t want to respond. We should be campaigning now and trying to win votes for our parties.

“The campaign should be issue-based. I am not interested in accusation against Oshiomohle because he is not event contesting in the election. They have been spreading falsehood about him. They should go and campaign.”

Also, Victor Oshioke, an aide to Adams Oshiomhole accused the Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu for orchestrating the incident.

Oshioke in his reaction alleged that the “gunmen” were sponsored by the deputy governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, and that the vehicle they used was in the convoy of the governor.

Oshioke told newsmen, last night: “The attackers were actually in the governor’s convoy, they drove ahead of the governor’s convoy from Ayoguiri and when they got to the village they started by destroying the billboards I mounted, the one mounted by Chief Lucky James, that of Nick Sedi and that of Jerome Adegboyega.

“Then they started shooting around, people ran away into the bushes and the governor ended up addressing members of his entourage because the villagers ran away.

“They destroyed a vehicle belonging to Wilson Idaewor. People have just started coming back to the community and we are going to make a formal complaint to the police.

“We ensured that our people did not retaliate so that it will not be reported that Obaseki was attacked in Oshiomhole’s ward, which we know was their intention.”

Allow citizens to carry AK47, Ortom urges FG

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has called on the Federal Government to allow “responsible citizens” to carry sophisticated weapons such as AK47 as a way to fight insecurity in the country.

The governor stated this in a paper presented on Tuesday during a virtual meeting convened by Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) in collaboration with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Channels TV reports on Wednesday.

Mr Ortom said the policy should be backed by a strict legal framework to prevent illegal possession of arms by the citizenry without exception.

His paper was titled “Insecurity and Governance Challenges in the New Normal”.

The governor recently clashed with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria over the group’s plan to set up a vigilante group in Benue.

Ortom also urged the Federal Government to increase funding for security agencies to enable them tackle insecurity.

He also advocated for ranching as the best practice of animal husbandry.

Ortom concluded his presentation by stating that Benue State has made significant contributions to national development and as the food basket of the nation, if the state is threatened by insecurity, the negative impact would be on the entire country.

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II has condemned the clash between the supporters of the PDP and APC that happened outside his palace on Saturday, July 25, 2020.


In a statement signed by the press secretary of the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor on behalf of His Royal Majesty, he urged the political parties to eschew violence as he reiterated the non-partisan stance of the Benin throne.

The Statement reads;

“The Benin Traditional Council observed with dismay the unruly behaviour of some youths outside the gate of the palace on Saturday, 25th July, 2020, when His excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki and some other PDP Governors visited His Royal Majesty, the Oba of Benin.”

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has been endorsed by Ex-Revenue Collectors (popularly called “agberos”) in the State.

The event took place on the 18th of July, 2020 and was attended by Founder, Akugbe Ventures, Tony Kabaka, Founder, Edo Drivers on Wheel, Comrade Shabba who led their acolytes drawn across the 18 Local Government Areas in the state.

My attention has just been drawn to a three-page advertorial sponsored and signed by you, in some Nigerian newspapers of Monday July 20, 2020, entitled: “An Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari and The Good People of Edo State: Please Urge Governor Obaseki to Leave me Alone.”

In your lengthy and convoluted missive, you accused me of being the mastermind of all your recent misfortunes, which range from the sublime to the ridiculous.
I sincerely empathise with you over these unfortunate and negative incidents but hereby state without equivocation, that I am innocent of all you have accused me of.

Those who have worked with me can attest to the fact that I do not have the propensity to inflict evil or pains, especially of the scale you alleged, on any man or woman. I couldn’t have been shopping for businesses abroad while at the same time destroying the ones owned by Edo sons and daughters like you. On the complaints regarding the non-commissioning of your farm project by Mr. President, it would appear that you are not aware that the President had a mere five-hour visit to Edo State and his itinerary was entirely put together by the Presidential Protocol Team and further vetted by the Department of State Services (DSS). They came to the conclusion that the commissioning of your farm project could not be included on the President’s visit. Neither I nor the Edo State Government had anything to do with that decision.

As your brother, I have been struggling to situate the probable source of your outlandish claims and wrong assessment of my character. Without a doubt, I am convinced that you must have been talking and consulting with the wrong people in your search for an honest assessment of my personality.

It is disappointing that despite our close family relationship, you could allow yourself to be convinced that I would do anything to hurt you or your business interests.

You will recall that over a year ago in my house (at the early stages when the intrigues of the godfather began to manifest), I had advised you to steer clear of the battle which was going to be an epic one to get rid of the choking influence of the godfather from our political life. I knew at that time that the godfather was desperately shopping for allies of Edo South extraction to assist him in his obsessive quest to continue his choking and unproductive dominance in the affairs of our state.
It is unfortunate that you fell prey to the recruitment drive of the godfather and you have now found yourself in the position where you are actively working against the interest of your own people.

As you are aware, I have had my fair share of attacks for undertaking to serve my people and help develop my state. I have been humiliated, undermined and my age-old business and family name ridiculed by the godfather and his agents, simply because I refused to do his bidding, and deprive millions of Edo people the good life that they rightfully deserve. This is what comes with the terrain when any person involves himself in politics and the consequences that follow.

In all of these I have no regrets whatsoever. I am certainly not paranoid about anybody. I remain committed and focused because the wellbeing and gratitude of the people, on whose side I have chosen to fight, namely; civil servants, pensioners, traders, the youths, farmers, drivers and the millions of other professionals and non-professionals in our state, are sufficient rewards.

I am saddened that you have made yourself the face of the forces that seek the continuous dominance of the godfather in Edo politics and have thereby exposed yourself to charlatans and opportunists who are now preying on your inner fears and insecurities to distort the real issues on ground.

I respect your right to make your political choices and to support any political interests you consider appropriate. I also acknowledge your freedom to freely associate with any political tendencies that you find acceptable. But you must recognise that the world of politics is not a tea party and the choices that we make in life always come at a cost and we should all have the courage to bear and accept the consequences associated with those choices we have freely made.

My attention has just been drawn to a three-page advertorial sponsored and signed by you, in some Nigerian newspapers of Monday July 20, 2020, entitled: “An Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari and The Good People of Edo State: Please Urge Governor Obaseki to Leave me Alone.”

In your lengthy and convoluted missive, you accused me of being the mastermind of all your recent misfortunes, which range from the sublime to the ridiculous.
I sincerely empathise with you over these unfortunate and negative incidents but hereby state without equivocation, that I am innocent of all you have accused me of.

Those who have worked with me can attest to the fact that I do not have the propensity to inflict evil or pains, especially of the scale you alleged, on any man or woman. I couldn’t have been shopping for businesses abroad while at the same time destroying the ones owned by Edo sons and daughters like you. My background and record bear witness to the fact that all my working career have been devoted to creating, supporting and sustaining businesses and investments.

Even beyond my personal policies, I am under oath as Governor to guarantee the security and safety of persons and property and ensuring the greatest level of happiness to the greatest number of Edo citizens.

In specific response to some of the allegations made in your publication, I wish to offer the following corrections:

Oshiomhole Angry Over His Failed Godfather Ambitions - Obaseki

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole had said He regrets making Obaseki governor while addressing teeming supporters at his Iyamho Country side residence yesterday evening.

Responding to Oshiomhole’s utterances, Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie said the sacked former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is only disappointed because Governor Godwin Obaseki refused to be used in his quest to become a godfather in the state.

In a statement, the governor’s aide said the recent vituperation of the sacked former National Chairman is just an expression of his frustration over his failure to achieve his goal to govern Edo State for a third term using Governor Obaseki as a proxy.

According to him, “In 2016 when Oshiomhole nominated and supported Obaseki, his hidden motive was to use Governor Obaseki who he thought would be a pawn in his game to defraud Edo people and enthrone himself as the ultimate godfather of Edo politics at the expense of the will and wishes of Edo people.

“However, Obaseki’s refusal to mortgage the interest of the majority of Edo people for the satisfaction of the avarice of Oshiomhole and his handful of greedy followers is the cause of Oshiomhole’s bitterness which has led him to bury himself in pursuit of an innocent governor who is trying to do the right thing for his people.”

“If Oshiomhole had made any mistake in supporting Obaseki in 2016, it is to the extent that he thought that the Governor will submit himself as a tool to be used to hold the collective will and best interest of all Edo people hostage and for this Obaseki owes Oshiomhole no apologies because the interest of Edo people is and will always be greater than the interest of one man”, Osagie added.

Former Senate Chief Whip and National Leader of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Sir Roland Owie, yesterday, dumped his party for the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), urging his supporters to work for the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Owie who re-joined the PDP in his home town of Ilobi-Isi in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State said he was a founding member of the PDP but that himself and others like former Senate President, Late Chuba Okadigbo were forced out of the party.



‎He explained that after consultation across the country there is an agreement that founding members of the party should return to salvage Nigeria, describing‎ governor Obaseki as a son of Isi who performed creditably and deserved a second term.

“I have spent the better part of the last 17 years outside of the PDP family – save for a brief return between 2011 and 2015. Recent developments in the polity of our dear nation has reignited my conviction to realign with positive and progressive mainstream political forces on a rescue mission.

“Impunity came into the PDP, the leadership became abusive, vindictive and all we were hearing was no vacancy in government house, no vacancy in the presidency to the extent that a sitting governor was deregistered. But PDP has woken up because the APC has adopted the same style of impunity to the extent that the party will be saying it is the high court, the court of appeal, and the supreme court. APC is dead.



“Over the past 15 months, I have been consulting with political associates, former colleagues and Elder Statesmen on the need to get our Nation back on track.

A recurring issue that emanated from that consultative process was the need for all founding members of the PDP to return to the Party so that it can achieve its strategic goal of emancipating Nigerians.

“Therefore, today I am returning to the PDP, the party I can call home, with a keen sense of purpose and a mission to work with the leadership and members in developing a sustainable developmental blueprint for Nigeria and jealously guarding the implementation of same.

“Because all politics is local, I must add that on the home front, my return to the Party would also ensure that Governor Godwin Obaseki is re-elected for a 2nd term. Beyond the continuity in the progressive institutional policies, commendable and visible physical developments accomplished by the Obaseki-led administration, his second term would engender equity and co-existence, as the Governorship would then rightly move to Edo Central Senatorial District in 2024.



“Today the nation is still greatly divided, and almost back to her primordial lines. Our country is troubled; our people are afraid; our future is uncertain. We cannot build a great nation without unity at home. We cannot be a nation where people are hated, branded and then hounded and ostracized. We stand here to declare that the Edo people remain an integral part of the Nigerian Project.

“PDP is the hope of the masses and we will ensure that its mandate of ensuring that all citizens have equal access to opportunity and resources is fully achieved. This mandate will be achieved in Edo State and it will be achieved in Nigeria.

“I call on all our supporters to rise up today and lift with me the symbol of our pride – the Umbrella, an exemplar of Royalty in the Benin Empire – and march shoulder to shoulder in our typical heroic step from the land of our ancient past to a glorious future for our State and Country”, Owie said.

The event led by Owere Dickson Imasogie had the presence of several notable leaders of the PDP from Edo South senatorial district.

Erstwhile National Chairman of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) arrived his hometown, Iyamho in Etsako West LGA, Edo State for the time since his removal.

Oshiomhole and his entourage drove into Iyamho yesterday evening to meet throngs of supporters who laid siege around his premises to welcome him.

Oshiomhole addressed the enthusiastic supporters and told them he was back home to reclaim the state from PDP.

INEC Releases Final List of Candidates For Edo Gubernatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates for the Sept. 19 Governorship Election in Edo State.

The commission disclosed this in a statement issued by INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye in Abuja on Saturday.

The list of the 14 political parties published by the commission shows that 12 out of the 14 governorship candidates were male while two females.

Also, two females made the deputy governorship candidates list.

The two female governorship candidates are Mabel Oboh of African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Agol Tracy of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP); while the two female deputy governorship candidates are Mogbelehan Pauline of Labour Party (LP) and Omion Omonye of Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Okoye said INEC’s displayed the list of the candidates at the commission’s offices in Benin, the Edo State capital and the 18 Local Government Areas of the state, which has also been uploaded on the Commission’s website.



He said that the publication of the list was in compliance with INEC timetable and schedule of activities and in accordance with Section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).

“By Section 35 of the Electoral Act and the Timetable and Schedule of Activities of the Commission, the withdrawal and substitution of candidates for the Edo Governorship election ended on July 13.

“With the publication of the Final List of candidates, no political party can withdraw or substitute any of the nominated candidates or tamper with the list and particulars of the candidates in a manner inconsistent with the intendment of the Constitution and the Electoral Act.”

Okoye urged political parties to pay close attention to the timelines stipulated in the timetable and schedule of activities of the Commission as well as the provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
