Why did you run?

And what makes you label our customs and traditions that have been passed down from age to age Barbaric?

Yet you will see no problems with the Christian Tradition of Holy Communion that symbolizes Canibalism.

Anyways, the Tecno is a shiity phone..

Your clothes you lost were ugly secondhand baffs.

And you wallet did not contain more than 3'k.

The bandwidth I have spent reading and responding to your thread costs way more than your total loss.

Don't disrespect our culture, customs and tradition ever again.

Now go buy yourself a Good Samsung Phone.

The price will come down in a year or two, you can buy it then

donlyone:
I guess TECNO didn't see this coming when they decided to name their best phone PHANTOM 5.

PHANTOM means something that is not real and exists only in a person's mind.

It's funny that many people on Nairaland advertise, review, and defend the Phantom 5 when they don't own one. Some even open threads to discuss the phone (myself included ). In my defence, I operated a display unit of the phone at Micro Station. LOL.

The phone was truly awesome.

The PHANTOM 5 is living up to its name, it has become a phantom for many people.

I am typing this appeal to TECNO with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, please bring down the price.

Oya, I am waiting for those people with the 'phantom' to comment with evidence

PhonesRe: Tecno Vs Infinix: Who Had The Better 2015? by BenKafor(m): 10:53pm On Jan 05, 2016
Tecno overtook Samsung? WOaw, that's big!!

TechRez:
The year 2015 was a bang for Nigerians, the mobile market witnessed its biggest growth and expectations were simply on the edge.

Two industry movers, Tecno and Infinix got dirty in their desire to lock down the smartphone market in Nigeria. But did any of them succeed?

Infinix

The Infinix brand which is just over three years old introduced several range of smartphones that addressed core issues affecting smartphone users in Nigeria.

Infinix smartphones are one of the most popular budget smartphones available in Nigeria, the company reportedly sold over 500,000 units of its smartphones in 2015. Thanks to Infinix Hot 2, Nigeria’s first Android One phone which was an instant success.

infinix-note-2-specsOne of the ways Infinix manages to maintain a low price tag on its smartphones is by eliminating the middle man, it’s a mobile strategy that has been working like a charm for them. This way, prices which should normally go up by about 30% are kept at a sweet spot. They know how Nigerians can react when it comes to pricing. Lol

Infinix has their shortcomings however; their smartphones are not readily available weeks after it is launched into the market. At the time its becomes commercially available, a couple of guys who were really anxious about the smartphone would have gotten a watered-down effect.

Tecno

Tecno no doubt had its biggest and best year in 2015. I hope they can replicate it in 2016, they did almost everything right – restructuring their mobile strategy by creating several range of smartphones that appeal to specific kind of smartphone users.

The mobile strategy that’s working started with the Tecno Boom J7, a smartphones targeted at music-centric lovers; the Camon C8 caters for camera lovers while the prestigious and premium Phantom 5 was specifically built for smartphone users who want to stand out from the crowd in style.

They had an onslaught on the low-end smartphone market and monopolized the mid-range line of smartphones in Nigeria. There was a need for transition into premium smartphones that birthed the Phantom 5.

Tecno reportedly overtook Samsung to become the biggest smartphone maker in Africa. Statistics like this shows that Tecno isn’t going anywhere, not anytime soon.

PhonesRe: Two Reasons Why Infinix and others are Not Eating Tecno’s Cheese Yet by BenKafor(m): 10:50pm On Jan 05, 2016
The boom j7 was a really cool music phone I MUST SAY

Frontier2:
I read an article in July 2015, written by a blogger titled "Is Infinix eating TECNO’s cheese in Nigeria?. In that article, he examined the question of innovation and value for money and submits that "TECNO have relaxed in terms of innovation, most of their current crop of smartphones in the market no longer offer value for money".

And by all appearances, that was correct at the time. Up till that time, the only striking smartphone from TECNO in 2015 was the Boom J7. The J7 is a beautiful device, but it didn't stand out much and drive the kind of hype people were used to with TECNO.

Probably because of low marketing drive for this nice device. I still love this device up till now and it's still one of the greatest 1gb RAM phones with great multitasking

The Boom J7 really is something - a beautiful design with great music and audio capabilities. And a good performer too. But due to some reasons it didn't get the kind of buzz i expect from it.

Tecno realized this early enough during the year, and things have completely changed for these two reasons

Count One: Camon C8
The affordable camera-centric Camon C8 was a hit. TECNO promised that it would wow users with its camera and it has done just that. The 3,000 mAh battery helped too.

Count Two: Phantom 5
We didn't see this coming. We knew TECNO was playing for premium, but we didn't think it would come out this good. Immediately details of the Phantom 5 went public, it became the talk of the town both by lovers and haters of the brand. The talk hasn't died out months after - and the premium metal build, gorgeous display, BOOM Player and awesome stereo audio, fingerprint scanner, 3,000 mAh battery, 4G LTE, and great performance means that the Phantom 5 will stay in the public eye for a while.

In fairness, Infinix had an equally exciting year. So, 2015 was a very good year for both brands. Perhaps, Infinix is merely only nibbling at TECNO's cheese. After all, TECNO remains far ahead in terms of sales and has clinched the position of the largest smartphone brand in Nigeria.

The year 2016 is going to be an exciting year in the mobile industry. We expect lots of innovation from tecno mobile.
The question is, will Tecno mobile retain its leadership position of the smartphone market in Nigeria?
