What are the benefits of the 17k and the 25k passport ?
I assume enhanced as the 25k (32 page 5 years validity enhanced passport at ₦25,000). So, my answer is the benefits of enhanced passport, which in summary is upgraded features.

Will the one without NIN be adviceable for someone who intends to travel abroad ?
Travelling abroad is the main purpose of International passports. So, you can use any (enhanced or standard).

Thane:
Please what's the difference between e-passport and standard? I applied for standard online
I want to assume you imply difference between enhanced and standard because enhanced and standard are both e-passports.

The difference is just like the name says "enhanced". Both passport can still be used. The enhanced is an upgrade to some features of the standard.

For example the introduction of NIN (from NIMC) on the data page, which is not in the standard passport.
Also, the availability of a 64 page 10 years validity type (cost ₦70,000) for adults, which is not available for the standard passport.
Plus other upgrades.

Thanks, to make a correction, it is date of birth change that cost 15k, change of name is less than 1k.

It is local govt cert that is delaying me from going to ikoyi presently.

But i believe once they check all online registration details, it will be stupid for them not to allow me in because i want to do name change in NIMC, no way to submit application without doing that.
You're right

How much is the price for passport as at now??
Enhanced passport details: https://immigration.gov.ng/enhanced-epassport/ when applying online and in Lagos choose Ikoyi to get right fee

Standard passport details: https://immigration.gov.ng/standard-passport/ when applying online and in Lagos don't choose Ikoyi to get right fee

We have NIN, but need to do change of name (my wife)... NIN doesn't change with name, the number remains d same. All online application completed.

Reason why i am asking if there is anyone with passport payment details and still not allowed in.
Hope u get me now?
If you have done passport application online and want to submit your forms at Ikoyi, my best guess is to enter like you want to submit the forms, which you will show them at the gate. When inside, meet the NIMC guys and tell them you want to do change of name. The official price as I read from NIMC Twitter page is ₦15,000 (paid via remita) and it seems it takes sometime for the change to be effected.

Maiden name change might be cheaper, since it is not an error correction.

When I was at Ikoyi, I heard them talking about NIMC people giving out number as early as 6AM to those they will work on their applications for the day.

The question is if anyone with proof of international passport payment for ikoyi not allowed in.
You cannot apply online (DIY) for the enhanced passport without NIN. Payment is done at the end of the application online. So, you need the NIN first before DIY.

Ikoyi NIS office will not let you in except you have finished the online application. To let you in, you need to show you online registration print-outs (Application, Payment, and Acknowledgement).

Both of them are E-passport, the new one with BVN is called enhanced e-passport and it's more expensive.

The new one requires BVN while the old one doesn't.
National Identity Number from NIMC not BVN

please not just let, join hand too. I was frequently the place for over two weeks, I have heard stories that touch as well, where people pay to immigration officers and nimc officers refused to register or effect whatever they want.

best bet is to look for the nimc official and do your thing with them directly.

I saw a woman paid 10k each for herself and her child, just to register and obtain NMIc slip, yet she wasn't allowed in because the immigration officer did not settle the nimc people.
I have been to Ikoyi Passport office but they won't allow one in for just nimc registration. I had every document with me to show I needed NIN to renew my passport which I need for studies but none of the NIS staff at the gate listened. The boot built at Alausa passport office hasn't start working when I was there two weeks back.

Please anyone with latest feasible info for NIN registration should post here.

Please guys, i am planning to study Data science for masters, am a pharmacist here in Nigeria, whats the possibility of switching to that course and also is it easy to get jobs if one isnt planning on returning to Nigeria
Good data science practice requires domain knowledge so, good domain knowledge will count in finding job. In your case, this would be knowledge in pharmaceutical area.

Aside those, you need good data science skills which includes sufficient programming experience. This is because an MSc in Data Science doesn't mean an employer will prefer you to a BSc holder having good statistical analysis or good python programming skills who is a resident.

In summary skills and experience counts, though a distinction will help.

I'm in Abuja and did mine at their HQ. Not sure what you mean by Standard/Enhanced NIN one this is however sure, you'd need your NIMC number when applying so you can either register at any NIMC office before going or you do both at the NIS office. I also had help, he practically helped with all the running around.
Thanks

I did my interview today with university of Chester and I was given an offer as she said I preformed excellently well. Also I had an offer today from Birmingham City University. PLease house kindly advice me, university of Chester offered me msc adult nursing while Birmingham city university offered me msc Cybersecurity. Which should I take based on job prospects and getting tier2 visa after studies.
Tier 2 visa sponsorship don't come cheap. Even when your discipline is on the shortage list there are so many immigration rules employers don't want to disturb themselves with because there are alternatives they can accomodate and not sponsor. I have seen MSc in IT with Distinction but no job.

The advantage of healthcare jobs on shortage list is that everyone needs the service and there are no alternatives because the UK will not compromise it's standard for practitioners.

So if you love the two options equally and don't mind working for an employer for a long time, I will say you have better chance of getting sponsored with adult nursing.

I renewed for myself, wife and 2yr old last week Wednesday. It cost 35k each.
I need to renew mine so please if you don't mind, did you get standard (NIN not needed) or enhanced (NIN needed)?
Also, was it processed outside Lagos or at Ikoyi or Alausa?
Was it done yourself or you used extra help?

Thanks.

I have tried so hard to get a NIN but can't find a way. Ikeja NIN registration post doesn't work. Ikoyi NIS won't let you into their premise for just NIN registration. NIMC office alausa says they don't have provision to work in covid-19 lockdown so they likely to resume next month.

Since I can't get a NIN I will have to go for the standard passport for renewal.

Any advice?

SUMMARY OF MY VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

I had issues using my Stanbic Master Card in making online payments. I had thought it would be straightforward and that once the 28days waiting period was up, i would make the IHS and VISA fee payment without breaking a sweat.

Well my card kept telling me the information i supplied online was wrong, i called the contact center, visited my branch but they couldn't resolve the issue. I was hoping to book an appointment for the 22nd of December 2015 but i couldn't as a result of this issue.

Two things i learnt.

1. Be proactive, always think ahead and envisage hitches

2. Never leave things till the last minute.

At the same time i am grateful i didn't book an appointment on the 22nd of December because the only available TLS center for that date was VI and i probably won't have used the priority service. Well that and another reason you would find out shortly.

So i finally paid my IHS and VISA fees with the help of my younger sisters Fidelity bank card while my uncle assisted in making the application fee payment and priority fee payment.

I booked my appointment for the 29th of December 2015 at the Ikeja TLS center. I got all my docs ready and on the main day i left early. Got there 2hours earlier which actually was a life saver at the end of the day.

So on getting there i was approached by some guys asking me if i wanted to take the visa passport photographs. I smiled and told them i had already. He asked to see them and i showed him. He immediately told that they wouldnt accept it because the background was grey.

I was shocked because i had read on the UKBA site that the background should be either grey or cream. I took another set of 8 for N1000 with white background. Things were quite expensive there because of the urgency and importance attached to anything relating to visa application.

I also had to print the 9 pages TIER4 APPENDIX 8 SELF-ASSESSMENT form i had no clue about. I printed 9 pages for N1400. Thank God i got there earlier as i had to take time to fill the form.

This form can be downloaded online for those who would apply in the future so you don't end up spending that much and giving yourself undue pressure at the TLS center. Just simply google it.

For those who would use the priority service in the future, when you visit the TLS site make sure you start from the homepage so you can select your country and the TLS center where you booked an appointment on the VISA4U website.

For example If you make a wrong choice like paying under IKEJA TLS center instead of VI TLS center, you would have to forfeit the money you paid and you wouldn't be given the priority service. TAKE NOTE.

The statements below were copied from "Guide to supporting documents > Point Based System Tier 4 (General)"

 If your country does not support online applications you must complete and submit form VAF9 and self assessment form Appendix 8.
 If you make an online application you must also print it off and submit with your supporting documents.

You must only complete the self assessment form Appendix 8 and submit a printed copy with your application form if you are unable to apply online.

Good morning all
Please I want to ask 2 questions.. Thanks a lot

1. How much will it cost me to write IELTS/TOEFL in Lagos and where will I go to?
2. How much does it cost to acquire international passport, what is the validity and what is the procedure?

Thanks again
IELTS is N40,000 the link is https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/Nigeria?_ga=1.179110304.528119545.1442958115

International passport official price is N17,600 but you get it at a cost from N24,000 to N28,000. It's valid for 10years by renewing after five years from issue date.
