Please my people what's a clean DBS?, can Nigeria police report stand in that aspect

Clean DBS implies, a Disclosure and Barring Service report with no bad record.

It's for people in the UK. If you are, then you can apply to DBS for a report or your employer will do so on your behalf and with your permission. It helps recruiters make right decision on whom they employ, especially when they work with vulnerable persons.

If you are in Nigeria, police report serves close to the same purpose. I believe it is the closest to DBS report, for someone in Nigeria. It's up to the employer to decide if that's good enough for what they need it for.

100 per week bills, this might be much oh, maybe you ment month

100per week shopping, maybe you ment month.

Miscellaneous should be pegged @100 a month.

Hone internet 19-30£ depending on speed you can pay more for TV.

Phone bill 10-20 per SIM a month

Thanks. Corrected

£100 per month grocery shopping is to some extent feasible but that's going to take some really good skills depending on occupation. I think £200 per month will be safe.

I have seen several replys saying a little over £28,000 annual salary is good.

Can someone who is UK share a real monthly expenses which includes PCM rent, groceries, light/gas bills, council tax, TV license and miscellaneous.

Thanks to everyone for sharing vital information.

PCM rent - about £300 - £700 (i.e., for a room in shared apartment to a 2 bedroom)
Groceries - about £100 per week upward (depending on your life style)
Electricity/Gas bills - about £100 per month up (depending on house size, insulation, gas or electricity heating and cooking, also personal usage and if rent include bills for shared apartment)
Council tax - about £150 per month (depending on the council)
TV license - £159 per year (colour TV)
Miscellaneous - It's possible to keep it below £300 per month (one month bus ticket, phone contract, body, clothing, eat out with friends)

All estimates are based on outside London living.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Many People Have Received Email/sms From NYIF? by bennymine: 10:30pm On Apr 05, 2022
When the Loan offer is accepted by the beneficiary, Global Standing Instruction (GSI) mandate will most likely be activated to ensure full repayment of loan.

Global Standing Instruction (GSI) enables the bank to take both principal and interest from any place the loan obligor (loan beneficiary now debtor) has money if such a debtor does not pay back as agreed.

With BVN, there is no way you can hide in any financial institution in Nigeria except you bury your money in the ground.

Also, defaulting financial agreement means you get a bad credit rating with the Credit Bureau Association of Nigeria. This triggers a red flag when you ask for any credit facility (e.g. borrowing money or doing credit purchases like "buy now pay later" )

I doubt NPF MB will have problems finding those to enforce this digitally and physically smiley

If you have questions regarding following the instructions you received, reach out to the Bank via the contacts in the message you received or go to the nearest Bank branch to you and find out yourself.

adetola77:

My question is after getting the act no via used code is it a must to visit the bank for proper documentation, like updating the act with the nepa bill, passport and I'd card. Hope this will not disregard from getting this loan prior to not updating the act properly. Thanks
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Many People Have Received Email/sms From NYIF? by bennymine: 3:27pm On Apr 05, 2022
1) How long will the payment of the said amount would take before the beneficiary have acess to the money?
The beneficiary is informed about the loan amount approved based on NYIF initial application, beneficiary accepts the offer, money is disbursed to beneficiary's bank account by the partner bank (in this case the Federal Ministry of Youths & Sports NYIF partner bank - NPF Microfinance Bank) for immediate access.

2). Is the money grant or loan?
Money is a loan - For a maximum of 5 years (60 months), Moratorium (temporary period when repayment is not active) up to 1 year (12 months), and interest not more than 5% (repayment in installments).

In addition, beneficiaries shall ensure sensible use of funds, keep good records of their activities and repay their loans as and when due.

NobeBeans:
The question I have in mind are the following:
1)How long will the payment of the said amount would take before the beneficiary have acess to the money?

2) Is the money grant or loan?

Anybody with correct info in the house should attend to the above questions

hotplate:
so is this load to be repaid? what are the terms and condition pls let someone throw more light on these

The loan is to be repaid in full - that is, principal and interest of about 5% per annum. The loan period is up to 5 years and you start paying back after a Moratorium of at least 1 year.

When the loan is granted, all assets purchased under the scheme must be registered with the National Collateral Registry (NCR). Also, the Global Standing Instruction (GSI) mandate will be activated to ensure full repayment of loan.

Global Standing Instruction (GSI) enables the bank to take both principal and interest from any place the loan obligor has money if such a debtor does not pay back as agreed.

With BVN, there is no way you can hide in any financial intitution in Nigeria except you bury your cash in the ground.

Also, defaulting financial agreement means you get a bad credit rating. This triggers a red flag when you ask for any credit facility (e.g. borrowing money or hire purchases).

So think twice and get your financial calculations right.

Good afternoon NL.

Does anyone have an idea of the waiting time to get the renewed passport after capturing at Ikoyi?

Thank you.

The turn-around time is 72hours (3days) or less if there is no problem. But you can wait for 5 working days to be sure before going.

Check the posts from the beginning, there's enough information on how to go about it. You can do the online application process yourself and pay the official fee. Choosing Ikoyi or Abuja passport office for capturing (aka interview), you can get your passport within a few working days.

Thanks.
Are there other passport offices aside the ones you mentioned. I'm at Ogun state.

There should be passport office in each of the 36 states but I only know of Abuja, Lagos, and Delta offices. You can contact their support service via their phone line available on Nigeria Immigration Service website.

Pls in which state can apply for a passport?(not the epassport). Any state closer to niger will be preferable. Also i want to know how much it will cost to add a middlename to NIN database.

It cost 500 and paid via Remita. Check NIMC website for more info.

Try to check if there is middle name in your BVN. My guess is that some missing fields (e.g middle name) in NIN record originates from BVN record.

Hey everyone, The names on my NIMC slip does'nt have a middle name but one on my local gov't and birth cert has a middle name written on them, will this cause an issue for me while applyin for a passport? If so whats the solution?

For the enhanced passport, if the name on your application is exactly the same you won't have a problem but if it is not the same with your NIN record you have to correct the discrepancy.

I did NIN some 6years back.m but misplaced the temporary slip. How do I go about it?

On the mobile phone line you have the number attached to your BVN, verify DND is not enabled by sending STATUS to 2442 (if DND is enabled, deactivate by sending ALLOW to 2442) then dial *346# to get your NIN via USSD - service cost ₦20. Copy or take a screenshot of the NIN if you see one. With your NIN you can print a slip from a NIMC office. To reactivate DND send STOP to 2442.

I don’t have NIN number and I went there they are still closed ,what if I wanna have a passport without NIN number , I think they can do it for me right? Having NIN number on your passport really doesn’t make any difference to me? Does it? Passport is passport

Passport is passport. Nigeria Immigration Service knows not everyone has NIN that's why they are still issuing the former (standard) e-passport without NIN.
Travel / Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by bennymine: 4:53pm On Jul 28, 2020
AustinT575:

What is the difference pls? But I can use ordinary passport, I don’t really need NIN cuz I need the passport renewed on time and since NIN ain’t working for now , so tell me the difference thanks

The normal e-passport is still a very valid passport. The one with NIN might be handy as an identification document in Nigeria when the need to show NIN becomes highly mandatory, considering how slow it has been to produce National ID cards. But there is definitely much more reason, technology-wise, the other is termed enhanced.
Travel / Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by bennymine: 4:45pm On Jul 28, 2020

Go for ordinary passport at festac office. The difference is just that epassport is merged with NIN. You can register for NIN later when you have the time so you use it to upgrade to epassprt in the next 5 yrs when the ordinary passport expires

Official price of ordinary passport is 17k but if you need it same week you apply, I know an immigration officer there that my family has been using. He charge 30k for that.

The system in Nigeria is really not working. I will forfeit earlier payment I made for epassport and go for ordinary passport if NIMC head office doesn't open next month

I think it's wise to do so for now.

NIN registration at immigration office in Ikoyi is the most stressful of the entire process. When you go for capture on your interview date, they will book an appointment for NIN registration for you in their long notebook and allot date and number to you which may take a week or 2 weeks to get to your turn except an immigration officer is doing VIP service for you. They charge between 45-50k for the VIP service or you do it yourself and follow every process to the core.

NIMC attends to only 40 persons for enrollment everyday and you will return days later around 11pm to queue for printing NIN slip.

The officers at the gate hate it so much that you paid online and doing it yourself, and yet needed their assistance in any way. They will add to your frustration. Only officers in servicom office can advise and guide you on how to follow the process without any intention to add to your stress

Unfortunately, it takes this much patience if you need NIN and don't have one. Let's pray and hope other NIMC offices start soon.

Yes but that will be ordinary passport, not epassport , and you can do that in festac office.

If I had realized that my NIN Date of birth was different from the one in my passport, I would have gone for ordinary passport that doesn't require NIN.

Know that they don't encourage DIY at festac office else you may wait for so long before you get it. I can give you a contact of an immigration officer there. He bills 30k to get it done within 3 days.

I will just forfeit the earlier payment I made for epassport and go for this one if NIN head office doesn't open officially next month.

I can never spend total of 45k just to change date of birth unofficially this period

All passports currently being issued by NIS are e-passports differentiated by improvement as standard and enhanced. The improvements are NIN inclusion, 10yrs validity, and other enhancement.

Dear *******,
Your application for a new passport failed National Identity Number (NIN) verification.
Please contact the NIS Ikoyi Office.
NIS.

The NIN I provided was correct. Please did any of you experienced this issue after payment?

This happens when there is a mismatch between NIN record and Passport application record.

When you start the application, you choose standard passport but the choice of processing centre and passport type before payment is what makes the difference.

please when you paid, did you receive SMS regarding NIN verification failure?

You get a NIN verification failure if there is a discrepancy in your application when matched with your NIN record (i.e. names and date of birth does not match including arrangement order or any omitted name)

You should confirm by yourself if truly NIN offices are closed.

Not true if you go for standard. For this type of passport, NIN is not on the data page.

Please how much is enrollment fee for NIN?

It's is free, but for now, the only location to get this done in Lagos state, Abuja, or possibly in the country, from my inquiry, is some passport offices.

My advice to everyone processing NIN, make sure your BVN details match with what will be on your passport because the federal government law makes this a must.

This how it works: Nigeria Immigration validates your application with NIN; NIN validates your application with BVN and so any discrepancy will cause passport application validation (verification) to fail.

Soon all applications in Nigeria will validate with NIN and so NIMC is making sure that there is no discrepancy between BVN details and NIMC records of Nigerian residents.

Hi everyone.

Please is advisable to renew international passports outside Lagos?

Someone I know needs to renew a passport either in Asaba or Enugu.

Would appreciate responses. Thanks.

Asaba is fast but you might not have the option of getting the enhanced passport there. I don't think the type of passport matters except you want new technology and 10yrs validity.

Do you mean I can renew my passport without NIN number? Cuz they ain’t working for now

If you choose the enhanced passports (costing ₦25,000 for 5yrs 32pages, ₦35,000 for 5yrs 64pages or ₦70,000 for 10yrs 64pages. There is about ₦2800 additional fee for each) you need a NIN, which you will see on the passport data page when you get one.

You don't need a NIN if you choose the standard e-passport. You get the choice of standard or enhanced before making payment and this depends on your choice of application processing (capturing) centre (e.g Ikoyi versus Alausa for Lagos).

Good morning guys, thanks to everyone who have contributed to this thread. I was scheduled for interview on Monday, on getting there I was asked to come on Wednesday for national id card, I was given a number. When I stepped out all those guys around was asking me to bring 7k if I want to get my id card that day and also 10k to open file for me. I refused went home and came back on Wednesday. I was able to do my national id card free, also I submitted my payment details to servicom, those guys were excellent. I stamped my guarantor form there. I finished the process, was asked to go home and come back for capturing. I begged the servicom guy there that my place was far, he took me to the place and I was able to do my capturing that same day. I didn't pay anybody 1kobo. Those servicom guys were excellent. When my file got to the capturing unit, all other files was suspended just to attend to me. I will advice anybody to follow due process, God bless Nigeria

From the order of things in your statement, it means you applied for the standard passport and not enhanced passport since you already had your payment details available before doing the National Identity Registration. Am I right?

You can actually get your NIN at the Ikoyi passport office,I just did mine and got it same day

Please, was this recently?

I am asking because the NIS staff at the gate in Ikoyi office don't allow people in for NIN registration except your application for a passport is handled by them. This was my experience at Ikoyi.
