A Seed for Contemplation

The pressures of the modern world make it easy to forget who we are. Our physical senses and emotions become overwhelmed and we lose Soul's spiritual view. Regaining this view is called soul travel. and soul travel is accomplished by practicing the spiritual exercises of ECK on a daily basis.

Read through your posts. You mentioned God as a Father, mentioned the guidance of the Holy Spirit. With this two in place I became curious when I noticed you never* ( I stand to be corrected if you did) made mention of a certain person; Jesus Christ.

Does He have anything to do with your religion?
no.
in Eckankar we have the Mahanta, The Living ECK Master who is the spiritual leader. Jesus Christ is the Spiritual leader of Christians.

If he doesn't. How does one get salvation? (Is there any need for it?)
Eckankar teaches that Soul does not need salvation because it was not lost in the first place so in effect there is no need for salvation. what soul needs is to come to the full awareness of who and what it is, a spark of God created in the image and likeness of God and sharing all the qualities of God which lies latent within it. The ECK teachings are tailored to unlock those qualities of Soul, so that it can take its rightful place as co- worker with God.

There was a post you stated "there is no hell"; that a soul would reincarnate till it learns it lesson and reach spiritual maturity. Would that imply that there is no heaven too?
what you called heavens we know them as other planes of existence. you can choose to call them heavens. there are many levels of them and you go to the one that fits your state of consciousness and spiritual maturity. and of course there is no hell where people burn in eternity. God is so loving that It has given souls plenty of opportunity to keep coming back in other to learn the lessons of love until they get it right and become pure channels of God's love.

Eckankar is a religion but not an orthodox religion. Eckankar is a religion for the individual- what many of us hoped religion would be. it is designed to help individuals find their own way back to God through direct personal experiences.

There's a common golden thread running through all religious and spiritual teachings. It's called the ECK. It is also known as the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the Audible Life Stream.

To master your life, you must apply self-discipline and have a true desire to experience God for yourself. Your experience with the spiritual Light and Sound of God will enrich your life and help you put daily problems into loving perspective.

A cornerstone of Eckankar is the value of personal spiritual experience. Reading a book or listening to a friend will give you only a small understanding of the spiritual worlds and your role in them.

Thanx for the responses, may God give us more
grace not only to be a channel of his love but to
be an innate lover of other souls ourselves.
Amen
i will say amen to that too.
God remains our shield and strength and to God we must look to always and not allow the evils ways of man to sway us from walking the path of love.
Remain blessed

Sorry to get personal but I remember you
telling me that you were in danger of being
attacked during the post election violence of
2011, I am assuming you are a family man
with a wife and kids, if you had been attacked then with a family to protect, what
would have been your reaction?
i have been attacked several times in the north. The more i am attacked, the more love and compassion i have for the northerners. That ability did not come from my strength, it came from the spiritual exercises that i have been doing ,which over time has been gradually turning me into a lover of life. i survived the attacks even boko haram attack, through the grace of God. You really do not need to fight for God. Just surrender, let go and give love to all life

if you go to your Holy Bible, Jesus Christ answered your question in a very pratical way.
When peter in trying to prevent Roman soldiers from arresting his master cut off the ear of the soldier, Jesus rebuked him and told him to sheath his sword as those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

You are not to retaliate evil for evil. You are to give love in all conditions no matter what is dished out to you.

That is why we are here. Love is the only force that can melt the hardest of heart.
Whilst I do not dispute what you have written, love in the circumstances described above is extremely very difficult to achieve if not contrary to human nature.
yes it is difficult to achieve but not impossible. you have to go beyond human nature to attain it, back to your real nature as soul, sharing and fully expressing all the qualities of God, the highest being pure love for all life

How can we as mere men attain this level of love?
again you are looking at yourself as mere men. you are soul, created in the image and likeness of God and sent down to the lower worlds in order to mature and become God-like. this is the reason we are here. to attain that level of love and if you are not pursuing that in your life then your life is being lived in vain

And if we do, won't we be left vulnerable to the likes of boko haram?
when you become a pure instrument of God's love, you surrender your will totally to the will of God and no harm can come to you unless it is the will of God for its own divine purpose. and of course why should you even be afraid of those who destroy only the garment that soul wears and can not touch soul itself which is immortal and does not die and live, move and have its being in God. the result of total surrender is that God becomes your shield and amour and no weapon fashioned against you can prosper

I really find it funny when i read some write-ups where members of a religion complain that they are being persecuted by members of another religion. It led me to ask this question. Who is really persecuting who?

When people have allowed their interpretations of their scriptures to become a wedge between them and other souls who are also created by God, you start wondering why do we even bother with religion if at the end of the day, for example a christian of catholic denomination will not greet his neigbour because he is an Anglican and a moslem will not allow a christian to marry his daughter etc.

It is only when the pure love of God enters the heart of man that he is able to rise above all these useless dichotomies, divisions, bias and prejudices and will then be able to see the next person as pure soul just like himself created in the image and likeness of God.

Let us strive for love in all we do and the spirit of love will welcome us into the fold of lovers of life whose only goal in life is to love and serve all life.

however, we're here to learn more than just reading , writing, and arithmetic. We're here to find our way back to God.

this is one of the reasons i do not blame the atheists for attacking religion. when people who are grown ups should be discussing about how to move the education sector forward in order to bring up more productive and useful members of the society, they are busy attacking themselves over what religious clotting pupils should wear to a public school. God really need to have pity on us and save us from ourselves.

Deep Sight:
Okay, that's interesting to know. Can you please comment on this. Is the physical image of man not a mirror of his spiritual image. If that holds true, what is this about the spirit having one eye only in the centre of the head. Sorry to sound childish, but it sounds spooky and kinda somehow.

How Bodi, Deep Sight, It might be helpful for you to study a bit into the chakras. I believe the 3rd eye he is referring to is often also called the Ajna chakra, at least is related to it.

http://www.tantra-kundalini.com/ajna.htm

abeg, I just googled ajna chakra and posted the above link, I can't vouch for it fully but it seem to give an overview of what you're looking for.
i also read the link. that is the Hindu perspective. it is quite limited. the spiritual eye which they called ajna chackra is of course located between the 2 eyebrows but from their point of view they use it to explore only the psychic planes which belong to the lower worlds of duality. using the word they gave there which is the Aum, will only take you to the mental plane which is the third heaven that Paul reported in the Bible.

through the opening of the Spiritual eye soul can also move into the soul plane and above which are the heavens of heavens where soul exist as pure soul and there is no duality there, no man or woman. that was the heaven Jesus was referring to when he said that there is no marriage there.

the main thing about this thread is that these heavens can be experienced here and now and not when you die and the opportunity is there for those who are bold and courageous enough to do the spiritual exercises. of course the meek who are not bold and courageous will inherit the earth and remain earth bound.

@ Benodic, I am enjoying your write ups.
thanks a lot.

Image 123 asked certain questions. Could you please address them, I'm thinking especially about his inquiry as to how to 'live above sin, love God and fellow man'?
the answers to image 123 is actually in the write-up but due to the fact he was looking for argument and not answers i didn't bother explaining further and of course his mind was already made up on what the answer should be and he was not ready to entertain any other answer.

There are many methods touted all over the world that claim to help people live above sin, especially in Nigeria. However as we can see from the state of our beloved country these methods are abject failures.

You've said the following:

Let this healing Light of God come in and work on the area you feel needs help. Or just let It flow into the Spiritual Eye. As It washes and cleanses the impurities, It will start to uplift you from the materialism and karma that you have created for yourself through ignorance of God's laws.

Does that relate in any way to cleansing of sins and thus answer Image's question?
you are really very insightful. that clearly answers the questions. the purpose of this thread as i made clearly to image 123 was to provide various practical ways that soul can use to get that inflow of the Holy Spirit. once the Holy spirit starts flowing into the person, that person automatically becomes a changed person. all those negative traits which are not compatible with the Holy Spirit will start to drop away gradually until the soul becomes completely purified and becomes a pure channel for the Holy Spirit.

this process is beyond any religion and is not the sole property of any religion and every master that comes on Earth emphasizes this process.

unfortunately the Ego of Man takes over and turns the masters into Mini Gods and claims their way is the only way, creating dichotomies and unnecessary bickering and quarrels. and in the process losing site of what spirituality is all about.

the starting point still remains singing of the Holy Names of God while putting your attention on the spiritual eye. then you will start seeing the light and hearing the sound of the Holy Spirit which gradually turns you into a lover of life.
those who have tried out these spiritual exercises have their experiences which becomes their authority.

Declaration

You will find this declaration useful as a protection:

I declare myself a vehicle for the Sugmad.

Wait a brief moment while you feel the stream of Sugmad enter your being. It is a certain distinctive force.

I declare myself a vehicle for the Sugmad and the ECK.

And then wait a moment until this flow of ECK fills Soul. You'll feel an entirely different current come through.

I declare myself a vehicle for the Sugmad, the ECK, and the Mahanta.

Again, still another energy comes through, this one happy and light, like a little lamb dancing along on musical feet.

This is the consciousness that can help you relate to people, in an everyday way, a connection to the high principles of ECK and the Sugmad.

Then go forth to meet your day with confidence, because the Mahanta is always with you.
