i have been asked that question a million times. no it is not nonsense. the taste of the pudding is in the eating. there is nothing to worry about. when you are ready, the truth will find you. once you have stood in the presence of God all the pettiness about who is wrong and who is right about God will disappear from you and you will quietly go through your life looking for how to give a helping hand to the next person without discriminating. why don't you try what i asked you. do not be afraid. ask with a sincere heart and watch what happens.when the experience comes you as soul will know for certainty that it is for real. you can share your experience if you like. Remember there is only  one God and It is for all souls. It only our petty human understanding that brings divisions.

it is very okay for you to shake your head in sorrow over what i posted. while you depend on a book to tell you about truth i depend on my own experiences with God to teach me the truth. the truth is not in any book written by man. the truth is within you and is available to any soul who has learnt how to go within to find answers to the mysteries of life. the holy books are just a guide on how to make your own contact with God as others have done. i will throw you a challenge. why dont you pray the way you usually do then call on your master Jesus Christ to explain to you what he really meant when he made that statement. ask him if there are no other ways to God apart from christianity. all the spiritual masters are still alive today and are teaching those souls who are ready to take the next step in their spiritual growth. those that are ready to start thinking outside the box. all it takes is for you to invite them to come and teach you and they will come if you are sincere. i will still assure you that when you get to heaven you are going to see moslems, hinduists, buddhists, pagans etc. there. in fact you are going to see all the souls that have learnt how to love all life.

after going through the replies in this posts i have finally realized why there will never be peace on earth. with every religion claiming to be the only way to God and thereby those in other religions are condemned. their own God is the only true God and the Gods of all other religions are fake. haba. where is the love that this same religions say we should practice. it really pains me when i see people leave out the real spiritually in their religions and start arguing over mundane things that really does not matter. as i said in some of my other postings, many souls are going to get the shock of their life when they die and come face to face with God. you will be surprised that God is not going to congratulate you on being a member of any religion or believing in any body. what God is interested in is how much love have you been able to give to all life. you have to know that nothing can exist unless God allows it. so God deliberately allows so many religions to exist on earth today in other to cater for each souls likes and dislikes and each soul's level of consciousness. it is only an ignorant soul that will condemn any religion on earth today in other words you are saying that God is stupid for allowing that religion to exist. if only we can put our attention on unconditional love this world will be a much better place. finally i want to point out to the poster that God still speaks to us today if you will learn how to listen to God. why don't you ask God his own opinion whether God and Allah are the same. then watch your experience.

i have read with delight all your replies to my post. thanks a lot jagunlabi for understanding what i meant when i asked the question who is on the side of love. before the coming of any religion God existed and love existed. religion are just ways that man tries to understand and get closer to God. as God is love and love is God what we should all be talking about is how to learn love and how to make love our goal in life. this unconditional love as i said earlier is to be given to all life irrespective of the person's religion, race or colour. even atheist too should be given this love. when i was in school l had a lot of friends some were atheists, some christians and some moslems. at no point did i judge anybody by his beliefs all i was looking for in them was how much unconditional love they had in life and that i know is what matters. it may shock some of you if i tell you that when you die and face God in the hereafter It is not going to ask you your religion rather what It will want to know is how much love did you give to God's creatures. for if you do good to life you are actually doing it for God. so i ask again, who is on the side of love?

he who is looking for love outside of himself/herself is looking in vain. love lies within our hearts and not in a building. one you discover the spirit of love within your heart then it will be very easy for you to give out this love to everyone no matter where you find yourself, in the church, in the marketplace, at home or in your workplace. ask God to help you find the spirit of love within your heart and see what happens.

i am going to give another dimension to this discussion.
1. God created the worlds as a school where souls like you and me can come down here and learn how to love
2. God then created the devil or satan and made him the headmaster of this school. the job of the devil is to tempt us to find who has been able to conquer all the human weaknesses and who has learnt all the lessons of love. that individual is allowed to go back to God. that is why God allowed the devil to tempt job as recorded in the bible and also he tempted jesus too. the guy is simply doing the job that God gave him to do.
3. without going through the temptations given by the devil there is no way you will know that you are growing spiritually. it is just like the exams you face in your schools. when you pass you move on to the next class until you graduate and become a master yourself in the area you have chosen
4. therefore one should not vilify the devil but you should work hard in learning the lessons of love and prepare yourself to face the devil when he comes with the exams which you call temptations.

dear pastor,
you could see from the last post that some people are really getting tired of this eternity yarns that come from Christianity. people are looking for the way here and now and not some far off thing that they are not even sure will come to pass. i always believe it is better to teach people how to open their heart to God's love. once one has this love eternity no longer matters because God's ever abiding love is here and now.

who is on the side of love? who wants to make love his goal in life? the love i am talking about is unconditional love. the kind of love that st. paul talked about in 2nd corinthians. the kind of love that is not greedy, that is content, patient. the kind of love that is given to all life without bothering about the person's race, religion or colour. the kind of love that gives of itself without hesitation and with a heart filled with gratitude for the privilege given to it to serve life.
so tell me my people. who is on the side of love?

it is very okay if you do not follow any god. what matters in life is not really the god you are following but what matters is in the course of enjoying your life are you also helping others to enjoy theirs too? if you are extending a helping hand to your fellow man irrespective of their religion, tribe or colour then you are much further ahead in life than those who kill in the name of God and those who will not help another person because the person is not a member of their religion.

Thing is, I don't follow any god.
refering to the above statement i could understand where you are coming from. if you look at the state of affairs on earth today especially the way that most religions have turned the earth into a battle ground in their struggle to establish who has the exclusive rights over access to God you may tow the line of virtually running away from the madness and resolving not to be part of it and thereby not following any god. i want to let you know that it takes a private revelation of God to you to make you realize that God is real and not something mocked up by any religious leader. when God reveals itself to you, you will never be the same again. the spirit of love takes over your life and you will come to appreciate all life. this experience is not limited to any religion. it is open to all sincere souls. all it takes is for you to have an open heart and you find in your own way that God is very real and moreover God does not belong to any religion and all that It cares about is that we learn to love. i would like you to throw a challenge to God and ask It to reveal itself to you. that you will like to know whether It really exist. then watch your experience. you can share it if you like.

i am not asking anybody to believe or disbelieve what i have posted but i can give you a way to prove for yourself the authenticity of my statement.
but first you have to know that God created us because of its love for us as souls. God really does not care about your religion or your tribe or your colour or your language. all that God cares about is how much love do you have for God and for life. if you have not been able to learn unconditional love from your religion then you have missed the whole point of your existence in the first place. God is always with us, loving us guiding us and directing us but you have to learn how to listen to hear God's voice. the whole purpose of hell is to teach us what it is like when you are separated from the love of God and what causes this separation are the bad things you do in life like cheating your fellow man, stealing, anger, lust etc. so my dear friends if you want to know whether hell is real or not and how it is a state of consciousness or the state of your heart, at night before you sleep, say your prayers the way you usually do it, it does not matter your religion, what matters is that you put love into your prayers. then after that, talk to God for It is always listening to you and tell It that you want to understand what hell is all about and also how it is a state of consciousness then be quiet for a moment and listen within you. then go to bed as usual and watch your dreams. for God usually answers our questions through our dreams because that is when we are most relaxed and more recipient for messages from God. you do not have to be a renowned holy man before God can speak to you. all you need is to learn how to love God with all your heart and then extend that love to all life without any discrimination.

please note: i refer to God as It, because God is neither a male or female. It just is.

hell is real. it is your state of consciousness. it is not a place. it is rather the state of your heart. when there is no love in your heart. when your heart is filled with hatred, anger, envy etc. you are in hell but still you are on earth. if you want to feel what hell is like try hating someone with your whole heart and then you are put in the same place with the person you hate. likewise heaven which is the opposite of hell is a state of consciousness and not a place. it is when your heart is filled with love. love for all life. you will find in this state that you are filled with happiness no matter what you are going through. try making love your goal and it is the only thing that will bring you to God and not your religion. always ask God who is our father, how can i learn to love you more? then hell will have no place in your life.

i am really surprised at all the contributions under this topic. some of the mathematical equations coming from some of the contributors are also mind boggling. for me this topic is quite simple. i will rather put it in another way. what is the difference between moving forward and staying in the same place? because if you look at religion and science you will find that science is the only one moving forward and making necessary changes. when a certain concept becomes outdated and no longer works science immediately drops it and picks up a new and better one. but unfortunately for religion to make necessary changes is virtually impossible as it will mean the virtual death of that religion. e.g the catholic church refused to allow their priests to get married even though most of them have been involved in relationships with females. so far as i am concerned that concept of priests not marrying is outdated but they do not want to move on as they feel it will mean an end to their doctrine.

the fundamental difference is very clear but you need to go back  to history to get the details. religion relies on faith and belief whether there is proof or not whereas science does not accept anything at face values without proof and evidence on how it works. e.g when Christopher Columbus who discovered America was about to set sail he was told by the pope that the world is flat and that he will fall into the abyss if he reaches the edge of the flat earth. but Columbus moved on and not only discovered a continent but also discovered the red indians whose existence was not accounted for in the bible. this caused quite a problem in christendom when Columbus came back with the red indians as the scholars struggled to account for the red race.
secondly Galileo using his telescope was able to discover the earth revolves around the sun but at that time the christians believed that the sun moves around the earth. Galileo was accused of witch craft and tortured by the church and made to recant his findings. it was only recently that the pope apologized to scientists over the maltreatment of Galileo who was stating only truth he discovered through experiment. fundamentally there is no problem with science as we have seen how science has made our lives easier over the decades. every knowledge that comes through science actually comes from God who uses a viable vessel to manifest that knowledge for the upliftment of mankind but fundamentally there is a lot of problems with some religions being practiced on earth today which instead of sowing seeds of love is creating discord among people with claims that theirs is the best and only religion to take one back to God and with such myopic views that grand vision which God is revealing to man today is lost to such people. one should be scientific in his approach to religion and should not swallow hook line and sinker anything he is told about God without investigation as to its authenticity. this is the only way one can prove the existence of God to him or herself. this them becomes his/ her authority and not  just a blind belief.

going through this religion forum i started wondering is it only about islam and christianity? what about other religions like hinduism, budhaism, shintoism, to mention but a few. God that allowed all these religions to exist does it mean that It does not know what It is doing?
then what about us in ECKANKAR, RELIGION OF THE LIGHT AND SOUND OF GOD. so many people do not know that
ECKANKAR is the third legally and dully registered religion in Nigeria after christianity and islam. The teachings of ECKANKAR centres strictlly around love, and love alone. how you can give love to your fellow soul no matter his religion no matter his tribe or colour. what matters at the end of the day is your own personal relationship with God and in ECKANKAR we recognise the authenticity of every religion because God allowed it to be so because It knows that we are all different and It allowed us to approach It in the way most convenient to us. a christian may not feel comfortable praying to God in the moslem way and a moslem of course may not feel comfortable singing and clapping the way christians do in order to communicate with God. this is the reason why God has provided so many ways of approaching it so that we can feel comfortable in its presence which is strictly love and love alone. in the presence of God there is no competition as to who God loves more among the religions. God really does not care what your religion is. all God cares about is how much love can you give to life. once you start walking the path of love God will start revealing itself to you then you will understand that it does matter who your master is but all that matters is you learn how to love because that is the ultimate message that each religion brings. the question you should be asking yourself is- how can i learn to love? how can i give love to my neighbour irrespective of his religion, tribe and colour?
