So, if Tinubu doesn'tgo there and someone else goes, what will happen differently?.....
Let's unpack this logic of yours!
In other words, Tinubu should not have criticized GEJ in 2013 for attending an occasion instead of visiting victims of terrorism because he has someone else that can go there.
Wait until it happens to you....let me see if you will apply this logic!

Kushites:
SHUT UP.

You only pretend to care about the north in order to attack Tinubu's state visit.

You don't give a damn about the north any more than you give a damn about the muslim children being slaughtered in Gaza and Iran, wIth no ''EMPATHY'' coming from you.

MR SELECTIVE 'EMPATHY'.
Atleast you indirectly admitted the president lacked the required empathy for victims of terrorist attacks.
This was the same president who had insulted GEJ in 2013 for attending an occasion instead of empathizing with families of victims that tragically lost their lives due to terrorism.
Being a data boy doesnt imply you switch your head cells because it doesn't affect you.
As for shutting up....come and try it!

It's really unfortunate that some have normalized lack of empathy due to the number of deaths that have taken place in the north.

You reek ignorance from the very first letter to the last in your post......do you know how stringent this kinds of engagement are,do you think a state visit to the UK or US at the behest of a figure like the king is just decided at a whim?

Do you know the kind of optics and the message you are sending to the international community especially the businesses and tourists that your country is unsafe for business or visit......this people dont know north or south Nigeria, they don't know the difference between maiduguri, lagos,Abuja or onitsha all they see is Nigeria,if the president were to cancel that trip,do you know how many investment opportunities the country would loose......Nigeria is on the upscale internationally as many of us are doing our best to portray the country in positive light bar a few working at cross purposes in the name of Puerile religious and ethnic interests.
You are not only ignorant in your epistles but a victim of the normalization of little or no empathy which should be one of the traits of a president whose first duty is to protect lives not attend occasions that will yield next to nothing!
Iike I told one of your colleague...most if not all of you have allowed political affiliation to mess with your sense of reasoning!
The same Tinubu had in 2013 attacked GEJ online for attending an occasion planned months ago instead of going to see victims of terrorists attack.

So the resident should cancel a trip that was planned several months in advance so he can personally go to quench the fire?

Nonsense talk!
Wait until it happens to you.
Let's see if you won't rush back home to secure your family and property.
The incident at Maiduguri happened even before he left for UK.
Interestingly, the same Tinubu attacked GEJ online in 2014 for attending an occasion instead of going to see victims of terrorists attack.
Some of you have allowed political affiliation to tamper with your sense of reasoning!

There's like 250 million Nigerians, so the houses burning and "violence that took place in a certain part of their country", a burning and violence that has been going on for like decades now, is not enough for our president to cancel a trip that was planned months ago and that might be about improving the fire brigade and seeking advise so fewer houses burn and violence is reduced.

If you think your current president does not care, please elect a different person who does care at the next election. That's why we have democracy.

And please consider my prefered candidate, if only because he is not APC, if you can't think of a better reason.
@highlighted justifies Obi's stance because if there was a president who cared,he won't be celebrating in another man's country while his own seems to be on fire!
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Condemns Tinubu’s UK Trip Amid Resurgence Of Terrorist Attacks by bentenny(m): 12:22am On Mar 19
budaatum:
I am Obidient, but this is nonsense talk. Obi wouldn't cancel the visit if he were president while Nigeria burned, though I'd like to believe (meaning, I don't know and I'm not certain, but hope), Nigeria wouldn't be burning if Obi were president.

The trip was planned months ago, and it would be rude and stupid to cancel it and not do the business that would be done on this visit.
If you were about to head to an important occasion that was planned months ago only to be informed that your house was on fire with your family members inside, would you continue embarking on the journey to that occasion and believe the fire service will do their duties in saving your family members?

Several presidents have cut short an important trip to a country due to violence that took place in a certain part of their country....an African president once left an occasion in a developed nation to return back to the country when he was informed about a tragic incident in his country.

Tinubu could have delayed his trip to UK and nothing would have happened!
On the contrary,he will be respected more as a president who cares about his own people!

Let's stop normalizing the body language of the president who doesn't seem to care about who lives and who dies in his country!

So let's back Tinubu for more insecurity

Let's back Tinubu for lower purchasing power

Let's back Tinubu for poor healthcare

Let's back Tinubu for dilapidated infrastructures

Let's back Tinubu for more out of school children and terrible educational centres.

Let's back Tinubu for more taxes that remove more money from the pockets of poor Nigerians

Let's back Tinubu to keep travelling all over the world with little or no investment.

Let's back Tinubu so that his entire family will continue to suck Nigerian resources dry

Let's back Tinubu for more ostentatious lifestyles while telling Nigerians to tighten their belt for more hardship

Who in his right sense will reward failure with another term and expect success?

I don't blame the likes of Soludo....I blame most Nigerians who are not angry enough but trying their best to endure or adjust!
When Nigerians are ready, the likes of Soludo will be scared to speak!

Guestmale:
You people keep on mentioning 70k, 70k is just basic salary without allowances of lowest ranking officer in the civil service, which there is every possibility he or she may not own a car.

Now ,the current exchange rate of a pound is about ₦1800+ multiple that with 97 that's ₦197,600 for 53litres , now in Nigeria a litre is ₦1300 multiple by 53litres equal 68,900,now tell me which one is cheaper.
This is the problem I have with people like you on nairaland.
Before you start doing your multiplication ask your self what is the value of a pound compared to a naira?

What can 1 naira buy for a Nigerian and what can a pound buy in UK?
I can tell you what can be purchased with a pound in UK and Nigeria but can you say the same about a naira?

Secondly, you made mention of 70k being basic salary without allowance but you also forgot the same is also applicable to a salary earner in the UK!
By the time you add the allowances of the lowest ranking officer in UK his the minimum wage, the full salary might get to 2800 pounds.
So that argument doesn't hold water.

Furthermore, you made that erroneous calculation that some ignorant Nigerians do just to justify their stance that things are cheaper here in Nigeria!
A simple way to find out if what is sold in Nigeria is cheaper.
let's assume as a Nigerian you purchased 53 litres of PMS @#1300 per litre on a minimum wage of 70k which is #68,900,what will be left is #1,100 implying that the PMS took 98.43% of your minimum wage.
Apply the same logic to someone staying in the UK and earning 2000 pounds as minimum wage and purchasing similar litres of PMS for 97 pounds, what will be left is 1903 pounds which is 95.15% of minimum wage left.
So which country has more purchasing power or which country's products are cheaper?

Finally,if you want to make comparison using our currency against that of UK,you.must match their value with ours!
A pound is 1800 naira...hence,if you want some equality,a minimum wage earner in Nigeria should get 3m which we all know is impossible!
Currently, our minimum wage in pounds is 38 compared to 2000 pounds of UK minimum wage.
The difference is clear!

Things are still cheaper in Nigeria than most of these western countries, the only difference is the opportunity to get job and get good pay which are available over there than our country.
Nothing is cheap in Nigeria!
With a minimum wage of 1500 pounds at UK,he can get PMS 53 litres at 97 pounds.
You still have 1403 pounds.
Here in naija, get 53 litres of PMS at #1300 with a minimum wage of 70k which is #68,900 and you will be left with nothing!

What will their relocation to Borno achieve? The DSS that couldn't gather intel and nip this in the bud is solely to blame. It is not the army's job to gather intel neither is it that of the Airforce.
Even when DSS provided Intel, what did the military do about it?
There is so much complicity from everyone but the worst is the apparent docility of the president who seems to have been overwhelmed by the multiple insecurity by terrorists.
He appears unable to have a solution to the security problem and yet people expect us to believe he is the right man to lead us the second time?

Let me state here that criminality knows no region as every individuals no matter their tribe participate in them.
Whoever commits a crime not matter where they come from must be severely punished according to the law.

However, what I will not tolerate is a mischievous username posting only certain people from a certain region just to paint a narrative that they are the only ones who deal with drugs while the other regions like his own is clean.

Criminality should not be based on a tribe but an individual.
There are good people from all regions doing legit business!
